Mooloo's Joining up the dots in 2017

Campervan cushions collected this afternoon so I had to go in to open up, for a while.
Set up a small life insurance policy to cover my funeral really. Not feeling very immortal!
Last washing load on, but as it's not stopped raining all day, it's all dumped in the bath ready to sort what can be hung up or tumble dried. So I won't be having a soak in the bath tonight!
I have written an email to the owner of the shop that I may have room in to sew in Towcester.
Written a letter for a customer who needed an opinion on a claim for a refund. She brought a dress supposedly made to measure on line. What she got was not what she expected! I wish people would learn that a bargain on line is rarely what it seems! And often ends in tears and further expense.
I curried a chicken and some vegetables for my tea.
I have given up on doing much else today.
I am tired and am hoping to just relax, let's face it, it's my day off and there is nobody here but me!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I assume that you have read this by Martin:

I am going to take a cup of tea with me and go to bed with a book.
I hope that I will be more relaxed and have a better nights sleep.
I feel calmer although I am still nervous about the near future with DS and Biggest etc. I still worry that I will have enough work to keep the seamstress in full time work.
Am I delusional or am I going to be successful?
Don't know but I am going to have to give it a good go.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I haven't gone for a Sunlife etc.
I have set up one that should pay out immediately if I died suddenly, through a trust so it's paid to my brother or daughter. I can stop paying in by age 90, but it will guarantee a fixed payment.
If I live longer than 90 I will not have paid in as much as the policy is worth. I am wary of insurance companies, so I will be reading the fine print on the arrival of the documents within the cool Down period.
I am really appreciative of your information though. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Good to hear, I just wanted to be sure that you were aware.0

Mooloo, you can't keep even yourself in part-time work as it is, money wise. Not going by hours worked, of course, but going by money earned. Don't even start worrying about keeping others in work!
It's been...3 years? And you're still not earning a living. You're basically putting all the money into paying "staff". You've been paying yourself nothing, or peanuts, since the very start. It cannot go on or you'll have so much debt when you eventually fold.
You need a new strategy. Brand new - not "I'm going to deal with the clutter and I'm going to deal with selling my stuff eventually". NOW. You need to see a business advisor, maybe at the CAB? You cannot go on as it is Mooloo. Sorry for being the party pooper.0 -
I can see where you are coming from. My personal debt has been about helping the family and not from the business.
I am changing the strategy, and that is why I want the seamstress fulltime, so that I can work more on building the clients and the sales. We are only working with a small area at the moment. Updating advertising, websites, social media channels. Promoting the workshop and the retail areas.
I choose to expand the stock etc and reinvest the money rather than take a full wage. I am looking at the money all of the time. Yes I am on a fine line, I have only made a small profit, which is not as good as I had forecast, however it is improved on last year, and of course the first years decefit.
If I don't draw in more work then no I won't be able to keep staff. I will have to review it. I am doing much less sewing at the moment, we are bringing in more money each week, and are just not quite hitting the target by around £50 a week. A few tweaks have been going on, some jobs we will no longer take on, as not cost effective.
If the changes don't bring in more income for me as well as the others, then hours will be cut. Premises costs reviewed, etc.
I am going to continue to analyse weekly and make my 90 day in depth questions etc. The only money the business owes is the two deliveries this week. The funds are in the bank. But I realise it is tight. But remember I started this with only £3000 of my savings, saved from my two days a week working at Vintage Garms for 18 months.
I do have an overdraft facility but I have not used it. In my personal funds the wedding funds, currently debt in my name, biggest is paying me the relevant payments on the first of the month without my asking. So we will be doing that debt down with more funds then minimum requested.
DSs debts are really my only worry. Because he is currently not able to pay me back. So as I go along, I will have day's when things are tight, and I juggle my funds around, but I am aware of every penny, I am aware of the things that I have to keep on top of.
The clutter is my nemisis.
The housework is more haphazard because I am terrible at doing the ironing, and putting paperwork away.
It does get me down, but it is my own fault, I sit down and put things off as I procrastinate at home because my energy goes on the shop and my family.
I have a clean kitchen, bathroom etc I just have piles of stuff on the surfaces most of the time! Because I am telling my self that I need to rest, not burn myself out, and remember how ill I was, and I didn't want to get there again. But deep down I know I am just in bad habits and I am not interested in the house. I have never liked the house, and so I struggled to give it the tlc.
Anyway, that is my views, my analysis of me. You are probably able to see things with a detached and more clinical eye. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

The interesting thing you have written Mooloo is that you saved £3000 in 18 months of working 18hours at a part time job.
After three years you of working for yourself what you have is debt and no wages.
Sorry for another party pooper post but like others I don't get it!0 -
Mooloo, I can't remember if you said Biggest needs more work: how getting her to list and sell everything your are hording for ebay and she gets a % of the sales.
That way, everything gets cleared in a few months and you make money and so does she.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
