Wont give him his car back!!!
I am sure that is not legal
If it is it shouldn't be. He's stranded in a bill with no car. So how do they think he would be able to pay them their fee? He obviously couldn't sell enough boxes and they are criminal in my mind.
I will be finding out about that company when I get back from my holiday and will go to Trading Standard and watchdogs or similar.
I am really frustrated for him.
He was trying very hard but their charges for the van etc meant he needed to sell about 40 boxes to cover the costs before earning anything.
Bless him he is so deflated and depressed.
There are some terrible business practices going on all around us that go under the radar and are borderline legal if you ask me.
I wish I had more time and energy to fight for justice but I don't and I don't have the resources yet either.
Have managed to get my friend from After school club to Coll Dgd.
Biggest is now going to take DS tomorrow so I don't have to juggle the kids.
Not much work coming in this week so be a dip in takings, and possibly won't be needed myself if seamstress makes it in tomorrow. She did go in today and work on the things we had in. She's done one of the campervan cushions, but the people have moved to Devon so won't be up for a couple of weeks now so no rush. Except I want them done and out of the way.
So panic over- for now.
I just need to wave my magic wand and sort out DSs problems apparently! ( biggest was joking when she said that!) but I do feel like it is exactly what my family expect me to do sometimes. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Packing done for my holiday too. Bag full of clothes too small for dgd ready for dgd3.
Car insurance quotes sorted. Renewal with AA not an option as price was 50% higher than last year!
So quidco- gocompare- £26 cash back tracking and insurance via Tesco bank, £227.95 fully comp.
I am happy with that.
AA wanted £305
Washing machine been busy all day
DGDs bedroom floor uncovered too! bonus.
And all done in my own pace, and lots of feet up moments and cups of tea for sustenance.
As bf is not coming over tonight, Dgd is out for tea, perfect time for me to have my chicken salad and feet up.
I was going to renew my tax credits on line, as I sorted out the problem with my Stock Journal and that has altered my Profit and loss, which looks more like my original figures that I expected.
So I will write a covering letter to the council and send them the adjustment and see if it will affect my Housing Benefits and council tax claims a little.
I think that it might well do.
Probably too late for the Guardianship funds, but I may write to them after the holidays and see. No harm in trying.
Feeling more positive than I did earlier in the day. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Feeling bored now!
Nobody here, feet been up loads, and foot is less swollen. Possibly should be doing something about the piles of papers, magazines and general clutter around me, but not in the mood for that either.
I know I will waste the evening and regret it, but for now I can't be bothered. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Poor DS - those self-employed commission jobs are a nightmare, you work all week and then might not see a wage at the end of it. Its like the double glazing people that knock on doors - they put hours in and at the end of the week if no one has agreed to a quote they get nothing.
What happened to his job at the pub? he seemed to be doing really well there.
All I can say is that DS needs to stay away from commission jobs.
Hope your foot is better before your holiday.0 -
When my friend brought Dgd back she stayed for a chat for quite a while. It was nearly 9 before she left.
Watched Who do you think you are, which I thought was very interesting. But I am tired now and have come to bed. Hopefully I will sleep well and tomorrow my foot will be nearer its normal size.
Dgd goes to her Mum, and I won't see her for two weeks. Will be strange.
Chatting to my friend helped both of us, we had both been feeling rather down with our birthday s the various situations, today began gloomy but we both felt more positive after a chat. Although my financial situation came up, and I realised that I was more concerned about it then I had realised.
But as I said to her that at least I am aware of it all and I know all the tricks and tips and frugal stuff to put in place to get back on the right tracks.
I will be back on the ball soon.

Positive thoughts!
My foot has gone down a lot and I can get my shoes on today. Hooray. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Frustrating. Customer booked in curtains to be done on the same day turn around, so we waited for an hour, and no show. I rang and she said, oh didn't I cancel them? Erm no. I told her that my seamstress had come in all the way from Beaconsfield just to do her curtains and now I have lost money as I have to pay her. I wouldn't have needed the seamstress today really otherwise as we are pretty much up to date with work, and the things we still have could be done next week.
I really think people are really bad at not taking the time to cancel appointments, and we have had that twice this week for curtains and three no shows for dress fittings!
And breathe
And be positive
And .... let it go! But Argh!!!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo - take a deposit when booking fittings and knock if off the final price???

Hi Mooloo,
I always read your thread although I seldom comment.
But.... I am making an exception to shout TAKE A DEPOSIT!
I would also say to make that a Non- refundable deposit 40 - 50% of the total price, balance to be paid on collection.
I do this with my face painting business and have never had anyone complain about it, it's accepted as the way to book.
I don't call it a deposit, I call it a non-refundable booking fee.
In this age of mobile banking, Paypal etc it is very easy to do, so there is no excuses for anyone not to pay.
I love your daily musings and your work is so lovely, I don't want to see you lose out in any way.
