Mooloo's Joining up the dots in 2017

Relieved it's not just me thinks that £2.50 charge is too low.
The other thing Mooloo is not to be afraid of losing that kind of business. When your boards are full, you have to think very carefully about how to schedule 'rush jobs', so as not to miss other deadlines. You working at home as well as all day isn't a sustainable answer, you know it's not!
I'm just wondering if a colour coding system would help you. A sheet of small coloured labels, and when you write a job in the book put the appropriate colour label on it: green for a sensible amount of time, blue for even longer, orange for a little bit of a rush and red for manic activity, IF you agree to do it. So orange has a bit of an extra charge, and red even more. Personally I'd go for a 50% uplift and double for a really rush job.
Would using colours help you remember to charge more?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
The last two days have been busy, but I don’t get to Sew very much as I am busy doing the reception and Shop stuff, so I am plodding along as best I can. The work is still coming in at quite a pace. We took £70 odd yesterday but £265 odd today.
I was up at 5.55 this morning so I could alter a pair of curtains and delivered them back to the person at 8.45 this morning when I took Dgd to holiday club.
I worked until 5.40 tonight in the Shop, cutting out more of the table covers, but ran out of time for the third because I had to collect Dgd.
6oclock Dgd helped vacuum the front room while I cooked us pizza and then we watched a film together. At 8 o’clock I started sewing again. I made 6 door buffers for the nursery ( they hook over the door handles and stop doors from being able to trap little fingers. I used the remnants from this mornings curtains! That took an hour and then I spent the next hour sewing together one of the table covers. After washing up etc I was going to go to bed, but decided to pin the fabric on a denim jacket that I am updating for my friend.
So I am just off to bed now! Quite late for me. Here’s hoping that I sleep well as in the morning I need to sew another cover at least before I go out. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I have been awake about an hour. Tried to get some more sleep but gave up at 6.25. Read my mail, shuffled money around, and planned my day ahead. Just finishing my cup of tea and then I am going to do an hour on the second table cover before waking Dgd.
I have the review of my benefits at noon. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

The Review was a summons because some kind soul called the HM Pensions etc and told them that I was earning more than I was declaring!
Erm nope! Of course the person who thinks they know more about my business is allowed to be anonymous!
But as I haven’t done anything wrong it was futile. In fact they may owe me more! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Afternoon!
My Dgd was sick as soon as she got to Holiday Club, so I had to go and collect her. Luckily Biggest was on her way to help for a few hours while I taught. We couldn’t cancel the first lesson but we did the second. We have had to close this afternoon and come home as Dgd kept being sick.
I have brought home a large hold-all full of work to do and I have just had some late lunch and then I will try and work here at home.
It’s unfortunate that I cannot keep open but I have a duty of care for dgd. She needs me.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I have sewn as much as I can today.
The table covers all finished. About 3/4 of the bag done. But several I need either the cover stitch machine or Habadashery I don’t have at home to be able to finish some jobs.
Tomorrow Dgd will go to Biggests so I need to leave early as she lives 12 miles away.
BF is here but I have hardly seen him or spoken more than a few wordsas I was busy. He’s now gone up to bed.
Let’s hope tomorrow is a better day. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
