On a plus side though I resisted buying 2 items in the sales, so stuck to my resolution not to buy any more clothes!

Good job in resisting the sales. The only thing I have bought this year is some heavily discounted wrapping paper and gift tags in Paperchase, saves me from buying any next year. I would have bought cards too but I discovered having already bought some in November that I had bought and not got round to sending the year before, so I have enough for next Christmas - just got to remember that before I go shopping this year.
  • How lovely to read posts from everyone this year, including lots of new people :j

I haven't posted for a while as I haven't been feeling that well; all my New Year's resolutions of getting fit and healthy have gone on the back burner for a while! Nothing serious, just generally achey and tired - maybe it's the time of year and chilly weather. I've been having early nights where I can, but sadly there's no let up in looking after two energetic toddlers!

LL, my thoughts are with you about your dad - what a sad end to the year. I hope you are looking after yourself and coming to terms with everything that's happened in your own time.

I think someone else has posted about rosacea/ skin flare ups - I used to have them often until I used the Kalme range. Not cheap (but not Clarins/ Clinique prices either!) but really good. I used the day cream and my skin improved no end, that and using simply aqueous cream to cleanse.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with more of an update, just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone!
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j

    Happy Monday everyone :p

It is a miserable wet day here - doesn't exactly help the 'Monday Blues' :(

Did some 'fabbing' over the weekend although not as much as I had planned. Managed to keep up with body lotion and foot cream after bathing - I have an Espa body oil (expensive but smells gorgeous) that I am using at weekends & special occasions and then just a normal body lotion the rest of the time. Had intended to have a wardrobe clearout but that never happened :(

Normal make-up, perfume & jewellery today as at work
  • I had a weigh in and shocked to find that I have 1 stone 8 pounds to loose. I want to get the weigth down by using common sense: more vegetables and less rubbish. I did not gain weight over the last few weeks so it has to be longer term loss. It is a wake up call as I have been eating rather badly for the last few months. I made a start by just eating vegetables last night, im a little late to the party, but I will get the weight down.

I used natural makeup yesterday and the hair was well behaved, it really made a difference. Yesterday I used the luna serum after the neostratra pad, followed with dr brandt moisturizer and the skin was awesome this morning. However, something went this morning, the skin was in great shape but I added caudalie divine oil and caudalie polyphenol c moisturizer and it went bad. The foundation lancome one that I have for ages would not blend, it was two foundation brushes, loads of blending and still not working great. It feels like bare skin would be better. If I had to run out the door in a hurry it would be a disaster. It settled down over a few hours but there is something wrong.

I was lucky that it was dry for my training session in the park this morning. Was hard as hadn't trained for a few weeks - missed three Mondays in a row due to a trip to Champneys pre Christmas then the two bank holidays on the trot. Pushed myself a bit further by walking to and from the park which is about a mile either way, the out route being mainly uphill. My new fitbit has been telling me my activity levels have dropped somewhat since I stopped using it so am going to start making a conscious effort to get my step count back up.

Had a nice soak in the bath afterwards and slapped on plenty of body lotion which am trying to make more of an effort with - haven't been doing it every day lately. I read a fab book in the bath, nothing to do with fabbing, but the true story of a young english man working in Argentina who adopts a penguin as told in "The penguin lessons" is one of the most delightful things I have read in a long while.

Raining here now but need to push myself to head out and buy some food for the week ahead - need to make some soup for my lunches. Got the treat of a facial to look foward to later (which also gives me a deadline).

Question for any fitbit users with a model that automatically monitors sleep - do you use the sensitive or normal setting for monitoring sleep? My new one defaulted to the sensitive setting and thinks I hardly sleep at all - like 2/3 hours when I've been in bed for 7 and only conscious of waking up once for a few minutes. I've switched it to the normal setting now as I just didn't feel as tired as I would expect if I was sleeping as badly as the sensitive setting suggests - but am wondering if that's then going to over estimate my sleep? My old one I think was set to the normal setting by default and if I woke up in the night but just read quietly without moving much it didn't always notice it.

Right, must get going, that Christmas tree isn't going to shed it's decorations on it's own... and yes I know I am supposed to be heading for a ton of bad luck for leaving it up this long - but am not remotely superstitious so I am not worrying about that.

Have a fab week all x

I generally use serum under moisturiser for the day time and save facial oils for bedtime use - not sure foundations cope too well going on over oil - even if they will blend I think they won't last as long.

i have used this oil before but it seemed so bad this morning and it is with products i have used before that confused me. I have seen oil mixed with too dry foundation and it can look stunning. Sometimes it seems like it is a bad foundation day. I'm hanging around the house today so it is ok to try new looks.

Is it possible the oil has gone off?

My skin care guru Caroline Hirons aka Beauty Mouth Blog, advocates using one's luxury/expensive body products down as far as boobs and the more cheap and cheerful stuff for the rest of the body, I include my arms for the good stuff as skin there can be quite dry.

Then I must be a real cheap skate!:rotfl:

I use quality products on my face but am happy with Aldi cream on my neck and then body lotion for the rest. Sometimes, if I use too much, the Clarins goes on my neck but that's not the plan.
