  • Only managed the very bare minimum today after a late night working and end of the week exhaustion (and this after only 4 working days!).

However the minimum did include some make up , earrings and perfume. Plans for wearing skirts that I have and rarely wear went out of the window when I saw the weather!

    Have a good weekend all

    AA.

Fab casual for me today as it was cold and raining, black trousers and ankle boots with Aubergine lightweight zip fleece over purple cashmere jumper, all topped with my long duvet coat, hair still looked good from yesterday and wore full, but light makeup and perfume.

Visited nearby town to collect my new excercise bike and did a Sainsbugs shop, which is a real treat for me. Bought a hot brush in their sale.

OH has almost finished assembling the bike, it is to live on the landing, so each time I want to use it I will have to use the stairs (chalet bungalow mostly live downstairs) which will also be good for me. I am hoping to get stronger and build some of the lost muscle in readiness to ride me "real" bicycle when Spring arrives:D

I looked like a dogs dinner today so no fabbing but walked nearly 14000 steps and bought a new exercise dvd which i plan to do tomorrow. All part of the greater goal!

OMGoodness, as many of you know I have had some health problems for a couple of years but, hopefully on the up:D I have become incredibly unfit and am determined to try and rectify that if health improvements continue, but until trying out the "new bike" a few minutes ago I didn't realise quite how bad, I only used it for a few minutes while OH made the final adjustments to suit my height etc and I was puffing like a no one's business.:eek: Onwards and upwards:D

    ali-t -14000 steps is fantastic:T

So good to see lots of new faces and existing posters too for a new thread for a new year, we will travel along this road together, cheering each other along and offering virtual hugs when needed.

  • After a slow start to janurary I was able to turn the suddenly inflammed skin into a more normal appearence. micelluar water and guerlain serum are my go to items when the skin flares up. About a year ago the doctor said it could be rosecea but generally if i look after it somewhat, all is ok, but a few weeks of being lazy can cause huge damage. I got a kit for the mornings together so that i use up my priority items but i have just enough and need not be looking for a particular item under a tonne of makeup. I hope it will make life easier.

i got the clothes into a real order today so it will be easy to look smart and presented all the time. i pulled out anything that needs a re-iron and made it into a grab and go wardrobe. i tend to have a lot of black items and layers, i try and keep to a similar range of colours so i can mix everything together. it avoids potential clashing of colours, wearing navy and black or the dreaded dark brown and black, i don't know if others struggle to determine colours in the dark winter mornings.

    Hello all,
I too am trying to be more fab. I've bought a gentle yoga DVD and yesterday treated myself to a facial. There was 20% off so nearly MSE's but it was gorgeous and my skin definitely looks better. Hoping to have a long walk today although very grey here. I am also writing 3 gratitudes daily Disflop. Have a good weekend folks

Morning all, well done to everyone who fabbed up yesterday. I managed to put light make up on before a quick dash to the supermarket. Visitors coming today so it will have to be hair straightened and the full works!
Plan to find an outfit to wear from the ignored bit of wardrobe - fingers crossed I find something that fits well enough!
Have made a not too calorific meal for us all to enjoy, though there is a proper pudding - dh insists on proper pudding if people come!! As opposed to our usual Greek yoghurt and fruit.
    Have a good day everyone.

Hello all, and a very warm welcome to all the new posters:)
Very wet and grey here today so I'm reluctant to get out of my lovely fleecy PJs:D
I've a hair appointment later so will get fabbed up for that - I'm going for a restyle; maybe a long layered bob, and I want to discuss new colour ideas whilst I'm there.
I too have a facial booked - I'm going to have a collagen one next week and I'm looking forward to it:)
Haven't started the exercise regime yet as I cannot shift an annoying cold that I've had on and off for weeks; it's hanging around my head and chest and I don't think I'd be able to breathe and exercise at the same time:D
However, on my theme of "confidence", I'm going to be very brave and join the local gym on Monday!
I'm going to get myself a new purse today as coins keep dropping out of a hole in mine, which is a shame as I've really loved this one and find it hard to find purses which tick all the boxes!
I think it's a day for jeans, jumper and a thick woolly scarf!
Have a good day all :)

I'm loving my Clarins serum. How do you use the micellar water?

I had lots of compliments last night at the party and we had a really good time. I wore my long silky pleated skirt and felt quite glamorous. I even wore a gold chain and a dress ring but forgot to put on my Trollbead bracelet which I love. I'm not good at jewellery other than gold bracelets which I never take off.

Today I'm feeling a bit fragile:o so plenty of water is called for. I've already had 1.5 litres. I've also done the facial massage and bought myself another facial and massage on Groupon.

I should try and get out for a walk but not sure if that'll happen. Well done on making a start on the exercise bike Maddie. You'll be able to build up over time. And :Tto those of you going to the gym or doing exercise DVDs or any fitness stuff. I'm ashamed.:o

I'm really lazy when it comes to puddings disflop. I really don't want to eat them myself but feel obliged for visitors. I often do DIY Eton Mess which is a bowl of fruit (raspberries or strawberries), a bowl of mini meringues and a jug of cream and Greek yogurt. I also put out a large cheeseboard and grapes. That way people can have as healthy or otherwise a pudding as they wish.

It's grey here too but at least it's stopped raining.:)
