One thing I noticed about the stylish is that they all brought I little pouch to the pool as well as their beach bag. In it they kept little things that get lost at the bottom of a bag. I borrowed my 9 year old's make up bag and tried it out - room key, little bit of money, hair bands, phone, kindle - so useful! I'm now on the look out for a stylish one for myself - the brighter colour the better! It would be useful on the journey too to keep passports, boarding cards in one place.

I posted on the old thread that I bought this in the sales:

You can detract the strap to fix it to a larger tote or use it as a small clutch. It's probably smaller than what you are looking for, but they do a larger size. They are good quality. They'll probably get some brighter colours in for summer and they'll eventually go in the sale too.

That's just what I need. I'm going to have a proper look tomorrow when my daughter is back to school. I transfer £100 per month into a separate account for personal bits and pieces like this so I'll need to check how much is in the account at the moment.

    Hi everyone.
I'm really intrigued by the foot peel so going to have a look at that tonight.
Yesterday was not a good day for me but I did manage to put a bit of make up on and Perfume but after washing my hair I went to bed with it wet which is never a good sign.
Anyway I'm going to use the negatives from yesterday to move forward and learn from my mistakes and be positive. So today I have straightened my hair, put more make up on, perfume and some jewellery. I felt so much better in myself which is good and I have exercised tonight too.

I am trying to change my mindset as over the past few months I have become negative and have been getting really frustrated with myself. Anyway that needs to stop and so I am trying to focus on positive things now and have realised I need to make some new friends. Unfortunately I don't have anyone I feel I could turn to in term of friends and the friends I do have are quite negative and bring me down further. So , as an adult how do you make new friends ?

Maman - I like people watching . I can get inspiration on clothing, make up and hair styles too.
  • Good morning everyone.. This is the last day of my holiday and I have so much to do. (may allow myself an hours holiday this afternoon).
Plan for today is to go for a long walk and then come back for a luxurious shower and pamper (I have an appointment at lunchtime for one of those tests only us women can have!). Then I'll get a couple of things at shops (hairdye for roots) and maybe an hour tidying in the garden if it stays dry.

I love the idea of a small pouch to contain all the little things in the handbag so will go searching house today to find something similar.
    Onwards and upwards ladies.

    Good morning everyone!
May I join in with this thread? I know I'm a latecomer to the party, but having read up to know I think it will definitely help me to stay enthused and on track with my goals for this year.

Sometimes I think it's easy to forget the improvements made when we have a bad day or real life gets in the way - well, I do anyway, so I'm hoping that seeing it written down will help make me realise one bad day is not the end of the world!

So for me the aim is to get fitter by walking every day, and I have made a good start on that by clocking up at least 5 miles every day, just not in one big chunk at the moment.

I am also keeping a gratitude journal - write down the positives instead of focusing on the negatives.

I always do the perfume spritz, but bit lazy on the slap, so will join in with put at least a little on everyday.

I need to lose at least a stone ( still won't be slim ) which will have the extra benefit of making the wardrobes full of clothes I have fit me comfortably! I have decided not to buy anything new until I have achieved this in the hope it gives me motivation to carry on - and the bonus is it will help the bank balance!

As I appear to have written an essay I will stop now and just say thank you to everyone for sharing tips and ideas. I will try to do the same if I can.

Thanks for that. I've not made any momentous changes so far with the exception of increasing my dancing exercise and the face massage. BUT, 2017 is less than a week old and I'm still keeping up with almost all the fabbing things I've put in place in the last few years. I know I've come a long way from the invisible old bag lady I felt like when I first joined this thread.:D

Definitely Fab Friday here. I've had my shower, creamed all over, done the face massage and blow dried my hair. We're going to a birthday do for my BIL tonight. As it's so cold I'm reluctant to wear sleeveless. I'm deciding between my long silky green pleated skirt as I have a matching cardigan for that or my purple lace dress which has ling sleeves. Either way I'll be taking care with my make up and I'll feel good.

Not a great deal else on today. I'll sort out my healthy meal plan (very necessary this week to offset eating out 3 times) but may leave shopping until tomorrow.

    Have a good day all.:)

Oooh I've just realised I'm stylish!!:

    You are!!!!

    Maman cross post.

    disflop welcome to the thread.

Today is my last day off. I'm kind of glad we are back to normal ad the children are getting feral. I have quite a bit of running around to do. We are in Ikea - the children are in the creche and I've just treated myself to a nice salmon and wheat pilaf lunch. Afterwards, I need to buy birthday presents. The items are reduced, so it will save me money.

Have a look online for citysocialising and see where your nearest is. I joined that when I moved to a new city and people post events or drinks nights up and you can go along. I've made some really good friends through it. Also there is one called spice which I think indie does walking breaks with but they do lots of other stuff as well :)

Well after my walk I did a bit of housework today, vacuming, shopping, and time tidying garden. I fabbed after my shower. Legs, mouisturizing, and even put on makeup, (including perfume) which after 3 weeks of not wearing, made me feel quite gorgeous. Just going to settle and watch a film as my last holiday treat.

Whilst at the nurse today, it turns out that the blood test I had done last week shows I have a slightly underactive thyroid. This may explain why everything is such an effort. Therefore, if I can keep fabbing with you ladies, and achieving at least some progress, I shall be happy and not beat myself up for being such a lazy moo!!!

  • Well Ive scratched the pouch itch!

In an independent department store in my local town I bought an orange (coral?) pouch by a company called golunski. It's almost identical to the one Chanie posted and I'm really pleased with it, especially as it was in the sale at £14.25, which I didn't think was bad for leather.

I've already put my purse, reading glasses, phone and lip balm in it to keep them all together.

I fabbed up a bit to go into town - makeup done and hair straightened - but not too OTT as I was due to meet friends at 2pm for a 5k run. Quick shower and change for the school run.

No other real plans for today.

Weight loss going well 4lb since Tuesday. I know it won't continue like this as its my body adapting to low carb again, but I'm happy with it. Another 6lb to go until I'm back to my pre-December weight.

Joe Wickes meal tonight - a kale, chicken, chorizo, egg, mozzarella recipe.
