  • Morning all

Yesterday went ok, I managed to both paint my toenails and file my finger nails, and give the latter a coat of clear polish.

And when I put away yesterday's earrings I chose a pair ready to wear today!

Shall try to make similar progress today.

Anyone any tips on getting smooth feet - I have various tools and creams but find it difficult to maintain, especially in winter. It's mainly rough heels, they're not so bad to be cracked yet.

    Have a good day

Always Allie - I find coconut oil inside socks is the best thing for my feet. I usually remember at night, but it works just as well during the day. In fact it's probably a good thing to do if you're doing a lot of walking or running...

If you have a fitbit you can keep a food diary in the fitbit app, then everything is in the same place... (and it can calculate your calorie deficit/surplus for you...)

Ah, great. I think that's changed, I think it used to link to my fitness pal to do food. Will have to read up properly about what this one does.

AlwaysAllie, i use the mains powered emjoi micropedi. I originally bought the battery one but it was a faff and expensive to keep buying batteries. If i have neglected my feet i use a japanese foot peel which is basically a skin peel for feet and takes layers of dead skin off in the 2 weeks after it has been used - it is like magic!

Ahhh that's interesting about the foot peel. Where do you buy them from? I bought one from ebay, started using it then scared myself that my feet might fall off :D as it was cheap and stopped therefore it didn't have any effect.

    Good Morning All

AlwaysAllie - I cant definitely recommend Leighton Denny's foot file and the matching glass file

Cheaper on Ebay with no postage

I have used a number of foot paddles over the years and found the LD to be the best, along with the glass file I haven't needed to use as often either.

Use on dry feet only - then soak feet in warm water with Tidmans salt

http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/tidmans-soothing-sea-salt-bathing-crystals-60087193 this will remove dead skin and you will find your feet will feel wonderful afterwards. You can then push back cuticles and use a scrub if needed. Dry feet and add your moisturiser.

I also add oils to my salt soak - lavender, geranium, tea tree etc ... it is a good way to find which oils help you to relax and you can then build up a collection of oils.

I trained in foot treatments many years ago - we didn't use Salt then, but I have been using them as they help with pain and generally just do a better job than other foot soaks. Would recommend the Body Shop foot soak and scrub also.

I very much agree also that a toe nail paint is wonderful and will give a boost. Once you take care of your feet other things can follow.

I started using the footner ones from boots but they are expensive so started buying from ebay. The best way i found to use them is to soak feet first then put the 'boots' on and i then soak my feet every night for the 2 weeks and then they peel lots leaving baby feet behind.

  • Many thanks to Ali-t and Babe1 for the feet advice.

Looks like my word for the month is "tootsies" :D:D

I'm in the middle of a foot peel cycle and currently have 'zombie' feet and I leave a trail of dead skin where ever I go. The 'posh' brand is Footner, but they are about £15. I buy a brand called purederm from Amazon for about £5.
