  • sympathy to all those back at work today, I have another couple of days off but I seem to have tons to do.

Wore my perfume yesterday and will do the same today. Will start drinking lots more water from today as when I did it before someone did comment on how clear my skin was.

Good luck to all those trying to shift weight. I walk alot and in some ways it is a form of mindfulness. I walk with a friend but most of the time we don't speak as we're both lost in our 'respective heads'. By the end of the walk I definately feel more clear headed.

today's plan is to adorn perfume, head out for 5 mile walk (would be really interested in a step counting app) and then look after my 2 DGS for a few hours to let their mother get some rest.

Need to remind ourselves that we are 'fabber' than we were two days ago!!!!

Only 3.1/2 hours sleep for me last night, digestion playing sill b's. I spent most of the awake time scanning local flea bay and book of faces to try and find an exercise bike. I think I may have found one in/near our county town, it is around 25 miles away, one of the problems of living in a very rural area, but so many compensations.

Yesterday I got busy with the micro pedi thing and as I had no need to be anywhere slathered rich balm on my feet on two occasions and pottered around in thick socks. I hope to make time to tidy up toe nails and paint them a very bright and cheerful colour, one of those daft things is that it always makes me want to smile when my toes are bright and cheery:rotfl:

I had lots of energy yesterday (for me) and ticked off so many little things off my list, I really do hope that I have turned a corner:D, I even did some exercises with light weights, whilst OH watched and helpfully (not) made suggestions to make it harder:rotfl:

Cold, frosty and a very pink sky here this morning, will eventually get warmly fabbed up and go into town, but not until the ice has lifted from the pavements.

Last, but by no means least a big welcome to all the new faces, we will all cheer each other along.:)

I love red toenails......they just seem luxurious and decadent.:D

Just psyching myself up to ring the hospital to get the ball rolling with registering dad's death etc.

I will be so glad when I'm done with all this.:o

Three times in 2 years 4 months is just too much.

Good to hear your energy levels are up maddie
    Thinking of you LL
Maman, our decorations came down and were packed away yesterday, too. I like the feeling of space it gives when the tree is gone but it all feels a bit anti-climactic in a way, too!
Indie I love the buzz word idea:) I'm going for "confidence" this month. I'm at work this afternoon and feeling like a 16 year old:o I have an embarrassingly low level of confidence/high level of shyness and it does have a huge effect on so many things that others probably wouldn't think twice about; I really need to force myself to grow a thicker skin and do/say the silly things that others take for granted!
Off for a soak now, and to sort out something to wear. Dry January going well so will cut right down on sugar from today and begin exercise plan tomorrow.
    Have a good day, all:)

have you tried Freederm products? i use the gel on spots and also use the foam facewash. they are quite expensive but you can often get on offer in tesco, boots or superdrug. i haven't been using the wash recently and have come out in loads again :( i used to use superdrugs own brand spot cleanser which was really good but after a few years stopped working on my skin :( i use the foam facewash with my no7 cleansing brush in the evenings.

Thanks for the tip about Freederm clippy girl - I haven't tried any of their products but will have a look around and see if I can find any on offer ;) I had been thinking about getting a cleansing brush but wasn't sure if it would be too harsh?

Did a bit of 'fabbing' after my bath last night - used lots of nice body lotion and even used my foot cream for the first time in ages - felt quite pampered :)

Back at work today so I do have perfume on and always wear make-up - I can't face leaving the house without my 'war-paint'

Thinking of you LL - I lost both my parents when I was relatively young - I was 22 when my Dad died & 32 when I lost my Mum - I found the time between when they died & the funeral is the hardest - you are in a state of 'limbo' & there is so much to arrange :(

i have a brush but dont really rate it and my skin hasnt improved at all. I got a foreo at xmas which has the anti aging side as well as the deep cleansing side and oh my wow - it is amazing. My skin feels so much better and less congested. They are pricey but so worth it.

Not a pleasant job for you today LL but make a start and leave as much to the professionals as you can. Will you get help from your sister and BIL?

That's interesting. I've had a quick look at the website. Which one do you have?

I've managed another face massage this morning and going to my new/extra dance class tonight so that'll be the main fabbing for today along with the usual things that are now routine. I've started a new body lotion this morning. I thought I'd try Palmers cocoa butter because it has some fake tan mixed in instead of mixing it myself. It's a good dispenser, lotion soaks in quickly, too soon to say about tanning but you have to be prepared to smell like a chocolate biscuit!:rotfl:

It's strange ellsbel but you come across as an interesting and very nice person online. Try to take some of that into work with you this afternoon and smile a lot.:D I find making myself fab builds confidence too.

I like the idea of painted toenails Maddie. I tend to leave mine au naturel except for summer. My fingernails need doing as I haven't had shellac since before Christmas. I think I'm going to leave them until the end of the week then have it taken off and pamper my nails again for a while.

I've remembered a lilac Kaliko jumper that I haven't worn for a while so I've got that out for tonight to wear with one of my skirts. It's bright but cold here so I'm hoping the hall won't be freezing this evening. I might take layers just in case.

Great fabbing so far everyone :)

Thinking of you LL. Hope all is well.

I perfumed myself this morning and put on some mascara as well as my earrings! Got my water bottle on my desk which I am getting through quicker than I thought I would. On my 3rd already. Had lots of compliments about my hair (I coloured it blonde just before xmas so no more roots showing)

Feeling pretty fab for the first day back at work ;)

Hugs to all those that need them.

scottish lassy - you could try the Moves app - it's a freebie :)

I did get into bed for 10pm last night - but of course I couldn't sleep. OH came to bed some time after 11.30 (the last time I checked the time) but didn't wake me as I'd dozed off by that point thankfully.

I did however make it to the gym this morning and then had a nice quiet drive down to work. I love it when the commute is like that and hoping for more of the same on the way home. I decided to dig out a tartan scarf I have to wear with a thick navy jumper, so I'm nice and warm today. I replaced my work boots over Christmas as they were wearing out so on the whole I feel pretty smart!

I did my whole bedtime routine again last night so my skin is starting to feel lovely and soft again, rather than dry as a bone. I'm not wearing any makeup apart from a bit of brow powder, but I did put perfume on after my shower at the gym. I ought to tint my eyelashes and brows again really; I'll do it before getting my hair done next week.

Well.....the hospital have informed me that they cannot issue the medical certificate today and that it will be next week before I can register the death.

I have a nasty feeling that we are Going to have similar issues with booking the crematorium. This happened with mum because she died at Easter and It took almost 4 weeks. It looks just as busy this time.

    Don't die during a public holiday..........:o

We are a large city with almost 1/4 million people and only one crematorium - it's madness. It seems so disrespectful, just stacking bodies up in cold storage then having to embalm them because of the risk of them decomposing.(sorry to be so graphic).

No I don't think my sister will be much help. Bless her she can be a bit flakey at the best of times but right now she is in a terrible state.

Actually I am deeply concerned about her. She is racked with guilt because she didn't realise how ill dad was (he lives with her). We have tried pointing out that she is not a trained medical professional, how could she have known (he kept it quiet) and that she has looked after him for a couple of years giving him A loving home and family. However, she is convinced she "didn't do enough" and keeps torturing herself.

She is also struggling with something she witnessed at the hospital on dads penultimate day. I had already left so was fortunate that I didn't see it......I won't go into detail - but it was truly horrific. Poor dad, no one should endure what he suffered that day. She is haunted by what she saw.

I think she is going to need counselling otherwise she won't be able to process it. She is off work at the moment, her doctor has signed her off, and her husband is with her today. They are doing stuff with the horses and trying to get back to some semblance of normality.

Tomorrow BIL is back at work so I will go over and gather up all dads paperwork. Etc I will try to ensure that she isn't left on her own for too long.

I think she might get some solace from arranging the finer details of his funeral, choosing flowers, readings etc but to all intents and purposes I shall be dealing with the beaurocracy again. The boys have already said they will help where they can. Bless them they are good lads.

It's a very strange time - it's like being in limbo.i still feel a bit grim. I have stopped the antibiotics and the worst of the shakes and shivers are over but my digestive system is definitely not happy. IBS always rears its ugly head when I'm stressed. My tummy is very sore and swollen.

I wanted to do a proper food shop today but can't face it. I'll just nip down to the little shop for a few bits.

Oh dear, this post is all a bit "woe is me".

I'll be fine in a day or two. ;)
