Thank you Willowtree222 and SH.
I did offer to do a prenup SH, but SO wasn’t bothered about doing one. He runs his own business and has his own property so I don’t feel we are unbalanced if that makes sense. So glad to have made it to half term. It has been a challenging few weeks. At the beginning of the term I had blood tests done which showed my iron levels were back to normal and I can see a visible difference in my energy levels. I have the energy and inclination to go for long walks again which I really struggled to do last year.
Today I’ve been to the other side of the county to visit my parents and had chance to walk across my favourite childhood beach. I have fond memories of spending afternoons there with my grandparents and walking back to their house from there. It was nice to get lost in the memories today!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . I did not do a living together agreement because at the start the OH assured me we would not need one - one never knows how things will turn out - and in my case he became after 20 years a very nasty piece of work. I would never not have a living together or prenup again. You may never need it and i hope you never do but there is no crystal ball for our futures. I know many will say what happened to me was a one off but I've sat in enough rooms with enough women who have been through abusive situations of some kind to know that it was not.
Warning over. Feel free to ignore. I could just not read and quietly slip out without saying something.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
I agree Watty. It may not suit HSL but it has been a horrendous? 8 years for her family.3

I'm with you Watty on that even though I had a more positive experience.

Pre nups were covered on last week's ML show if you want to watch on catch up. Cant remember exactly what was said but I think it may be the case that though they can be taken into account they have to be fair. That was for England, other parts of UK had diff rules.
Glad your health is improving. Do you think dropping a shift at Job2 has helped?
Enjoy half term.

Thank you Lucille, Watty, SH, Janb5 and Spendless. I will try and find that episode, thank you Spendless.
Thank you all for your thoughts and comments on prenups. I do appreciate the thoughts, concerns and experiences that others have been through. For those long term diary readers, you will know that I have been through quite a battle with my now ex husband. SO has been through a couple of battles of his own, which made me suggest a prenup to show that I’m not the kind of person that would treat him as he has been treated in the past. The last 2 days have been lovely. I dog sat for DD1 yesterday and cooked tea for her and DSiL. It was good to spend time with her once she had got back from work and DS3 loved catching up with his big sister.
Today we ( DD3, DD4 and DS3) went to a National Trust garden armed with a picnic. We met up with my parents and had a decent walk around the gardens that were starting to burst into bloom. Quite a few varieties of camellia were in flower as was a magnificent magnolia tree. On the ground hellebores took centre stage with the irises and early primroses adding splashes of colour. Having time outside was wonderful and really helped me to feel refreshed. The only cost today was the petrol to get there so was a cheap day out.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . That sounds like such a lovely day out. I love how spring comes to you long before it gets to us - the snowdrops are only just getting going here - so I get a preview. I know it's coming really but it makes it seem closer when you have the flowers already blooming!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
