Great news on the mortgage being sorted and your DDs wedding day going well. 7% is very high so good you have managed a better rate and it is now on repayment. It has been a long haul for you scuppered at every turn by your ex so good it eventually worked out.

I'm happy that the wedding went well - you all worked so hard to make it wonderful. The remortgage is proof that you can't hold a good woman down. Congratulations on both things.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. The advice and encouragement that I have had here has really helped to keep me going over some very tough times, so very many thanks to you all.

Was pleased on Monday to get a text from the new mortgage provider telling me when the first payment would come out and how much that would be. The first payment is higher than the usual monthly payment and I am so thankful to now be on a fixed rate for 5 years.  Over the weekend I had tried to see if I could “see” the mortgage on the online banking app and couldn’t figure out how one could check the balance or make overpayments. By Monday however, the bank had obviously updated  everything and the mortgage figure was there! I did have to have a little experiment and see how easy or not, it is to overpay. Paid £9 off which showed up the following day  on the banking app. Cannot believe how much easier it is than the previous mortgage provider.

Back to being very busy in both jobs. Last night was my one weeknight evening off, so DS3 and I went foraging for elderflowers. At the allotment we have several bushes dotted about. We picked about 20 heads and these have been infusing overnight to make elderflower sorbet. I was also thrilled to discover that the sweet peas have  started flowering.  I was hoping to have had them ready for the wedding but they hadn’t even got one flower on them. Yesterday I cut enough for 2 vasefuls of flowers so we are enjoying their beautiful fragrance in the kitchen this morning. I need to go and do battle with the brambles and nettles at the allotment but that will have to be a weekend job.
