Thank you SH.
Survived an extremely busy working week last week. Did 6 shifts at Job 2 ( 5 planned but one an on-the-day request as a colleague was sick and the only other one was on holiday.) I was so tired on Friday night I was beyond conversation by the end of the shift 😳. This week is looking a little easier. I have taken one shift off to be able to go out with colleagues from
Job 1, which will be a change. My boss at Job 2 gave me a small bonus for covering at such short notice so will use that to pay for the meal with colleagues.
SO was really sweet and made sure that Sunday was a chilled day ( having been concerned about the hours worked ) which included a walk on the beach with the youngest children. It was so beautiful, the patches of gorse in flower on the cliffs contrasted with the greens of the grass and the blue expanse of sky. The sea was turquoise in parts, blue in other parts. The waves were a decent size for the surfers with the spray rising into the air as each wave broke. Parts of the damp sand looked blue with the reflection of the sky. It doesn’t take much to make me happy…a walk across the beach with people I love…the memories set me up for the week ahead.
Hoping for news this week on the mortgage. It will be tight but there is a very slight glimmer of hope.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Lovely photo, thank you for sharing it (and the description - you do describe things beautifully).
Bless your SO - just the Sunday you needed. It's also nice that you had a bonus, and that the bonus covers social time with colleagues.
Keep us posted about the mortgage - I'm sure plenty of us have said a prayer for you.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you Lucielle, Spendless, Cherryfudge, MeandO and SH.
Thank you for praying / crossing fingers…my glimmer of hope has gone at the moment. No documents have been signed so it looks like back to court again. The mortgage offer runs out tomorrow and I can’t see how it can be extended. I have begged the bank but their stance is, if it’s not their fault, they won’t. I just need a couple more weeks to get through the court stuff. I’ve had to get payslips together again to reapply for a mortgage. Given the amount of interest rate rises
since the mortgage offer, I’m not even sure I can get a mortgage for the amount I need now 😟😔😢To add to this, the ex displayed an episode of behaviour that reminded me why we are where we are, so have been dealing with the emotional outfall from that today. It took me back to the way we used to live and I’m shocked at how exhausted I feel dealing with it.On a positive side I have used some money from a work based holiday fund/savings pot to clear the second window loan. This means that I have one debt left. It is a bigger one, about £3k but will start getting that down as much as I can.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Brilliant that you've got down to the last of the debts though, you are pretty amazing.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
