A debt down to £200 - that is fab news. I reckon it'll be gone in a month and I hope this doesn't happen buuuuttt should life throw a curve ball at you don't despair if you have to split it in two. I'm guessing there aren't many more debts to tackle after this one is gone?
Fingers crossed on the mortgage too. It's starting to come together. You've been on a long journey and through plenty of downs, lovely to see more of the ups.3 -

Thank you Lucielle, Spendless and SH.
This week is a weird week. I’ve been at Job 1 until 7 - 8 for 2 nights this week which has resulted in missing a shift at Job 2. Has meant long days and totally thrown my usual working pattern! I’ve paid in £40 of saved tips which I’ll be using to reduce the £200 outstanding on the focus debt.
The frustrating news of today is that the ex has ignored a deadline to sign and return the transfer of equity documents so that I can further progress to getting the mortgage. I have 3 weeks before the mortgage offer expires. Given that the consent order was agreed and signed by him, it just makes it so wearing and frustrating that yet another battle looms to complete a simple task. I have asked the solicitor to make it clear to him that any extra costs incurred by his obtuse behaviour choices will need to be paid by him.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . He's still playing power games, isn't he? Hopefully the solicitor will make him see sense.
So exciting to see the focus debt shrinking! Brilliantly well done, it will soon be gone completely!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Ergh. This is the way he has of trying to control you so I'm not surprised he's done this. What a plonker. It'll be more expense for him. like you said, so try not to worry too much. I'm sorry he's being difficult! Just think, soon he will be completely unable to do these sort of things and you can forget about him as much as possible! My advice is to get on with going back to court if that's what needs to happen. He will probably say he will sign, then wait til the last minute and not sign. He's never going to do what he says, I don't think.
You on the other hand are doing brilliantly- and I expect he really hates that (silver linings and all that)

I hope your ex gets told that he has a very severe penalty heading his way over not adhering to what he said. Ask the solicitor what can be done to force his hand. Unfortunately I'm not the slightest bit surprised by his recent lack of action - I thought he'd gone too quiet, but I hoped I was completely wrong.
You WILL get rid of him eventually. Focus on everything that's going well for now. £40 (1/5) towards that £200 debt is fab especially since Job 1s hours have affected shifts at job 2 this week.

Thank you Lucielle, Cherryfudge, Jak, SH and Spendless.
I was quite despondent on Wednesday when I realised that the deadline had been ignored. There is nothing I can do about it other than leave it in the hands of the solicitors and hope that they manage to get it sorted in time before the mortgage offer runs out. It’s the last bit of control that ex has over me so will be glad when it can all be sorted. I reread the consent order and it has pretty serious consequences if not followed…why he would want to risk any of those consequences is beyond me.
It was my birthday recently…I had a lovely time. I had to work at job 1 during the day but had the evening off from Job 2 so SO took me out for a delicious meal. Yesterday, the day that most of my children could make, we met up and had a meal altogether. It was precious time having my parents, all but one of my children and their respective partners where applicable, SO and his children altogether in the same room…17 of us!! My parents rarely have the opportunity to see their grandchildren altogether so they enjoyed the evening too. My brother sent me some money for my birthday so I used it to buy a new gilet that was in a sale. I find them useful when gardening or out on playground duty!! Not having to cook for 2 days in a row has been a real treat too!
DD1 and soon to be SonIL move to their own place this week as they found out a completion date. This week looks to be a little chaotic in packing her stuff up. Weird feeling that this is it, she is flying the nest. I’m pleased for them both, they have patiently waited week by week watching the building of their new home progress and it’s a natural life stage but still a weird feeling! As a result reorganisation of bedrooms is looming!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
