I expect you can bundle the costs in some way so you don't end up paying for each lot separately. It depends whether it's worth it for you though: the stress and the financial outlay are both to be considered.

I expect DD will be back several times for her things! It seems to work that way. :)

  • Thank you Spendless, Jak, Cherryfudge and SH.

Still waiting to hear from the solicitor /court. The solicitor works part time so am
never quite sure of the  work days so hoping to hear more tomorrow. I spent Friday afternoon after work, on the phone to the bank and the bank’s legal people. It’s was so frustrating. My solicitor has advised me to ask for a month’s extension on the current mortgage offer so I rang the bank  and explained it all only to be told that they couldn’t extend it, it had to be requested from the legal people. I rang the legal people only to be told that the first information was wrong! Back to someone else at the bank who told me that they can’t extend the offer and I have to go back to the mortgage broker and find a new product if completion  on the existing offer doesn’t occur. The mortgage broker had closed for business by the this time so I can’t call him until tomorrow.  Just hoping and praying the court will come through in time for me to complete.

Have worked 4 nights in a row at Job 2 so felt quite tired yesterday. It was a treat to have a night at home with the children last night! Next week looks to be a challenge as I’m having to cover shifts ( we are a little short staffed at the best of times) so am working 5 nights straight 😳.

Spent yesterday daytime packing up the car with a load of DD1’s stuff. She has to work
all weekend so no chance to get here but lots of her accumulated  kitchen items here. Soon to be SiL was home so we had a tour of the new place. They are in the same county but a 40 minute drive away…in a part that I am unfamiliar with so looking forward to discovering new walks! We stayed long enough to have a walk around the town that they now live in…confirmed that I am so unused to towns or rather that I am so used to being in the middle of nowhere!! SIL is pleased that they have a Dominoes locally and a couple of takeaway outlets! The town is quite hilly so their fitness levels will get even better!!

Today is looking to be a beautiful sunny day so am spending it with the children that are at home with me as the others are working today or in DS1’s case, away on holiday!

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

I hope the call to the mortgage broker is productive - what a saga of delays! :( Talking to my son who's buying a flat, though, there seem to be a million and one checks in process so these people must be used to juggling possibilities.

Also hoping you get some down time between all those shifts. Enjoy the extra space in your kitchen, too!

Fingers crossed for a positive resolution to the mortgage offer next week.

You take care of yourself too, 5 nights at job 2 on top of working f-time  at Job1 is going to be exhausting. Hang on in there - you're getting towards the end. Hopefully the Easter hols are looming and you can have a bit of a break.

DD1 place sounds lovely - a new area for you to explore.
