Thank you Lucielle, themadvix, Suffolksue, SH and Buffy.
suffolksue- I did have half a conversation with the DC on the night the key was taken but didn’t get past the DC saying they had a right to access their stuff still at the house. It puzzled me really because I have never denied access to their remaining belongings. DD3 was as succinct as ever. She said “They have the legal right to remove the rest of their stuff to dad’s”.
I was very stressed at the beginning of this week contemplating upcoming events. I have got through 2 of the most stressful , the dentist and the court appointment. Hopefully things are back on track to being fully sorted - court wise. Can’t say much more than that at the moment but am not as stressed as I was on Sunday. I couldn’t think properly on Sunday for the overriding sense of panic and worry but much better now.
Job 3’s shift is done for today. Just going to finish my cuppa and off to Job 2.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I understand how you're feeling right now and it is so overwhelming.
Yes the DC are entitled to transfer their belongings to their father but not at the expense of compromising your security and equilibrium.
A simple telephone call checking a convenient time with you could have helped massively.
Sending a hug your way...4 -
A hug from me too... you can do this.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Legal right to access belongings - that sounds like a line someone has been fed.
Take belongings to where you live - problem solved.
Glad you have some support. It must be very hard to stay neutral with your children sometimes and not let things escalate.
Also glad the legal side appears more positive to you5 -
Thank you SH, rugbymadfamily, Lucielle, Janb5, Cherryfudge and Warby68. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.
warby68 - I had wondered the same , it seems such an odd phrase for any of the DCs to come out with.
I had the latest legal bill land this week. I am thankful it’s half of what I was expecting to pay but it will still take the remainder of my EF. Looks like I’ll have to start the EF again next year. I think I’ll still have some legal bills to come but possibly with the conveyancing department rather than the current solicitor.
I have done nothing about Christmas yet 😱. The DCs at home put the tree up last Friday so we have some semblance of festivities but I will have to get with it fast for the next week!!
I finished work at 6 this evening and have done very little except slump. I simply have no energy yet frustratingly can’t sleep either!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Not surprised you're struggling to sleep. Ouch to emptying of EF but needs must.
When you say you've done nothing for xmas - is that not put all the decorations up or not bought anything? Most of my presents this year to people are 'pre-loved' ie from FB, CS or found in the house and wrapped. It's hard doing everything on your own. Can DD3 help you get organised or is there no £ to get organised with?
Slumping is allowed when you are as busy as you are - essential even. I wish we could help.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
