Thank you Janb5, Spendless & Parkyp.
Spendless - I suspect the persuasion factor was being able to offer single bedrooms to those DCs rather than having to share with a sibling.
Despite being so tired, I had difficulty sleeping...I seem to have hit a point of waking regularly through the night again *sigh*. I was up at 5 to take DD1 to work on Saturday morning but felt really rough from lack of sleep, so got back into bed on my return and slept until 11am😳. Felt much better after that.
I didn’t get a huge amount done yesterday - mainly washing, then did an evening shift at job no 2. Hoping to get out for a walk later.
Have a good Sunday everyone.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I fully understand the lure of your own space. And as young adults they are perfectly able to make their own choices and deal with any consequences.
When it comes to a financial settlement, it may be a bargaining point to leave him the rental property if you can keep your pension (depending on both your provision) of course, if he has a ridiculously high pension then leave it, but the fact that he hasn't paid maintenance etc I am assuming he doesn't really have this in place? If he is hiding assets it won't go down well if it gets to court. If your pension provision is ok I would do anything to hang onto that. Anyway I will shut up about it now!
I find October is the ridiculous month for spending. No idea why, but everything seems to fall then 🤷Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6 -
HSL2 I often have difficulty sleeping and I found that listening to a podcast that I`ve already listened to ( and will switch off itself) help me enormously. I`ve been listening to ` Unfollow` and start at episode 4 and I never hear the end.5

You're exhausted? You only managed to get the washing done? I can't even imagine how much washing there must be in your household. I am not in the least bit surprised you're exhausted. No sleep and two jobs as well as taxi for everyone. Your responsibilities are endless. And you are still going through a hateful divorce. Please allow yourself space to do nothing and relax. Please allow your time for walks and fun with your family. You deserve it.
Are you going to be working more at job 2 over the summer? Hope you've got a good balance coming up and a chance to recharge xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Thank you DAL, Janb5 & Kitten868.
DAL - you are right, the DCs that have moved are young adults and capable of understanding choices and consequences. I need to remember that!
Thank you for the tip Janb5 - I’ve not tried podcasts so will try.
Kitten868- Thank you for the reminder about balance. Yes I’m still working at Job 2 over the summer, but ended up working a double shift on Monday, so that was a timely reminder for me not to work every shift going and just have no time to recover from the crazy end of term.
On Sunday evening I finally got time to get out for a walk with DD1 and DS3. We had planned a route but diverted to another one on realising that some heavily pregnant cows were in one field and we felt they were best left undisturbed! We went on a local footpath from which you can see views across the village below and right out to nearby hamlets and villages. It’s view I never get tired of - the ever changing colours of the patchwork fields below and in the distance, coupled with the sense of freedom that such a vast expanse of sky gives you. The hedgerows are shabbily beautiful at the moment. The honeysuckle is in full flower ( and fragrance) whereas the cow parsley has gone over now. Much of the grass has turned brown and has seed heads blowing in the wind. The vetch stands out as it’s purple flowers scramble through hedgerow. The blackberry blossom covers much of the higher hedgerow with some early varieties displaying green fruit. It was very relaxing to amble along the lanes, marvelling at the height and colours of the hedgerows.
We’ve had one birthday this week which went comparatively smoothly. I did a birthday breakfast, then we headed to the beach. It was the quieter beach...the tide was out and we had a great time. DS3 and I spent quite a long time exploring the exposed rock pools. I was trying to encourage him to wait patiently at the side of the pool to see which creatures might swim across the pool or dart out from the seaweed. He did wait a couple of times but was too eager to find the next pool!! Our best find was a strawberry anemone. Sadly we also found quite a lot of plastic ☹️.
The birthday child had a couple of friends to join us. DD1 had kindly helped out with a birthday cheesecake, as requested by the birthday child, as the extra shift had taken my time. The birthday child was happy, which was the main thing🙂.
A fair amount of money had gone out his week, mainly on birthday related expenses - extra food and a gift but thankfully the gift pot and my wages from Job 2 have helped with these expenses.
Another shift completed today - my normal shift which was nicely busy. £10 received 8n tips which I intend to pay off a debt tomorrow. I feel that I must regain my focus to knock out the rest of these debts.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you Lucielle and Cherryfudge.
Yes thank you, Cherryfudge, legal matters notwithstanding, I am feeling more relaxed than the end of last week. Having time to get out into the garden and walk definitely makes a difference!
I’ve been able to get some decluttering done which has cheered me somewhat. There was a piece of furniture that the ex placed here, again on a day I was out, so I had no say about it. The furniture was, by the looks of it, “rescued” on the way to the tip. I have never sat on it and have hated its very presence in the house, so I decided it could go. I asked the ex if he wanted it - his expletive filled response indicated not, so it’s out of the house and gone. I discovered that the local council does a bulky waste collection and for a relatively small sum, will take up to 4 items. I booked a collection yesterday and was stunned by their efficiency as the item ( and a couple of other bulky items that have been left sitting around) were collected by 9.30 this morning. I now have space in the garden where the other 2 items have been sat for months, if not years, so my next stage of sorting out the back garden can commence🥳. I am so thrilled that these items that have cluttered for so long have gone🙂.
The wind 💨 here has been wild overnight. One of the younger DDs had a couple of friends over earlier in the week and they camped in the garden...the tent was still up, but this morning was upside down at the other side of the garden😳. Just thankful it hadn’t blown further afield.
Payday today for both jobs today so I need to be planning August ‘s finances today. Yesterday I paid in £16 from tips which I promptly paid off a debt. I also checked the account that Job 2’s wages go into and found that I had £25 remaining so that went off a debt too. I am determined to knock a dent in these debts and get them gone for good.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Wow, your council are on it. Our bulk collection has a months lead time at least! But it is good for things like sofas and beds.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6
