Thank you Jan, Mumoffourkids, SH, Cherryfudge, XSpender and DAL.
We had an interesting night...whether it was the heat, or recovery from the general anaesthetic or sheer bewilderment as to what had happened to him, the elderly lurcher was quite agitated last night. If I moved from his side he would start whimpering so sleep didn’t really hit us until dawn this morning! Thankfully he has been much calmer today, has been content for me to be out of sight from time to time and has managed to get out into the garden. He had a check up this afternoon and all is ok so I remain very thankful and rejoicing that he is still with us.
Today has been quite a lazy day really. I’ve done some work in preparation for next week and have to go in tomorrow to do some final practical preparation for Monday.
The children are quite miffed that we aren’t heading to the beach. There do seem to be more cars and people out and about and there were some tragedies last weekend with people getting into difficulties in the water. I offered the children the next best thing which was a paddling pool full of cold water which DS3 was very pleased about!
I need to spend time this evening planning the budget very carefully, in light of the leak and the vets bill. All reserves are very much depleted so it feels like I’m starting the EF from scratch again but at least I’ve been able to avoid using the credit card .paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Hi HSL...just wondering if you are able to claim back on the water damage, plumbing repairs etc. Is it worth looking into depending on how much you had to pay for repairs and whether it passes the minimum amount?5

I'm really pleased that the dog is doing well. I cry every time I take any of the cats to the vets for any procedure - I am such an anxious person I can see the worst in every situation. Hope he's continuing to recover brilliantly. Not giving up

Thank you Jan and CCL.
We’ve all had a good night’s sleep 😃 and the elderly lurcher has been around the garden. He bounded across the lawn which was wonderful to see. I’ve been reading more about his condition and it would seem likely that he has been having terrible headaches. He has a new energy this morning - so thankful.
Jan - I’m a bit concerned that everything was ripped out of the bathroom, so apart from the water stained floorboards I have no evidence of the leak as the bathroom is just an empty shell. I didn’t think about it before but not sure if an insurance assessor will accept the claim. Must get onto the insurance people. I usually do that insurance through a local broker, so I’ve no idea who the insurer is, just that I know I pay for it. Probably something to check for cost when it comes up for renewal.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
