    Morning all
Some of my menu changed yesterday so instead of stir fry it was lamb shank (2.5) plus baby potatoes and stir fry veg (steamed). The veg was ok but steaming stir fry veg doesn't really work so I'll stick to normal veg next time (sweetcorn or baby corn / carrots / green beans etc)

I did go over my syns as I had the kit kat as my morning treat snack (5.5) plus 10 milky way stars after lunch. The lamb shank was 2.5 and I had 3 basics Yorkshires. Need to look up the syn value for next time. I did resist more chocolate syns in the evening and also although tempted, no wine syns.

Today's menu is something like this...
Breakfast is HEB muesli and fat free greek yogurt
    grapefruit
may be chocolate syns - kit kat (5.5)
lunch is crackers (4) HEA cheese, pickled onions and beetroot
Dinner is fajitas. I'll only have one wrap.
I need to work on checking the syn values to check I'm not having too many and also need to try and get fresh air and exercise over lunch rather than sit at my desk. Meal planning (and syn planning) at the weekend is in order.
Have a good day all x
  • thanks shala

still feeling delicate post dentist. I'm a compulsive weigher during low times and at the moment I'm rather low so weighed again this morning and it's a smaller gain my still a gain.

tonight is the last in my countdown and I'm going to book the next two weeks as holiday from group and see how I get on. the dvd has some meal ideas on most of which fit with SW (poached egg on toast, jacket potato with prawns and salad, steak with wedges and salad etc, fruit salads and fruit snacks) so I'm going to try those and SW friendly evening meals alongside the exercise 3/4 times a week. think I just need a bit of time to be kind to myself and not beat myself up so much :/

I'll stay here (where it's safer ha) and post meal plans daily on here/in the facebook group :)

today: facial pain is still really high :(
breakfast at work: hifi light (mint) 1/2 heb and a cup of tea (milk from hea) seed mix 5.5syn
lunch: going to try a cupshot and maybe some fruit if I can
mid afternoon: hifi light (rocky road) 1/2 heb
tea: got group so not 100%

    Morning all.

I can't keep up with this thread as people are posting all the time!

Does anyone have one of those HydrateM8 bottles?

I was looking at getting one, but they aren't cheap and the delivery charge is £4.95 I think.

Is there a cheaper alternative please?

    Thanks.

    Anyway moving on!

Do please be kind to yourself Lush!

    No snow here...................yet!

Have my favourite left out for dinner, Spag Bol.

Have to say its made a massive difference so far this week having a chopped salad and a fruit salad ready in the fridge. Finished both those yesterday so must get them redone tonight.

In response to those mentioning resentment and / or motivation issues:

I have thought overnight about whether to post this. What works for one doesn't always work for all, and posts like this can come across as really preachy and goody-goody, and I don't want that at all! But I am posting what keeps me on track in the hope that it might help to change the mindset of some of those who are struggling:

    1. For me, Slimming world is a choice. Nobody is making me do it. I don't need to resent it, because it is a positive choice that I am making for myself. I see it as an investment in myself - in my future health and happiness. Because I deserve that.

    2. Right back when I started my SW journey, I wrote two letters to myself. One was a letter from 17 stone me to future me, reminding myself of all the reasons I was doing this, all of the benefits I hoped I was passing on to future me. The other was an imaginary letter from a still 17 stone me in the future, telling me what I thought of myself for not making the effort while I could. I referred to the first letter for inspiration many times over my journey. I never read the second letter again - seeing it all in black and white once was quite enough! It is one thing thinking in the abstract what might happen. It is another thing actually reading what might happen written down! I can tell you now that 12 stone me is very grateful to 17 stone me for making that effort all that time ago. I can only imagine that 10 stone me will be just as grateful!

    3. I saw first hand what an unhealthy lifestyle can do to the people you love. In particular my mother, who had a major stroke in her early fifties. The doctors told us that she should not have survived at all. She did, but she is paralysed, unable to communicate very well, unable to do the things that she loves, and pretty much reduced to watching TV all day and needing someone else to do even the most basic things like wash and bathe her. The worst thing is, she knows that she brought it on herself. It must be a nightmare to live like that and regret not changing things while you had the chance. I don't want that future. I am making positive efforts now to avoid one.

    4. Seriously, I doubt anyone goes to their grave wishing that they'd had more buscuits. I bet a lot of people go wishing that they'd had fewer.

    5. I am not deprived, so I don't need to be resentful. I can still eat anything I want, just not everything, all at once. This is a choice, remember?! The shops will not run out of buscuits or cakes or crisps or wine. They will still be there waiting for me when I choose that I want them.

    6. In fact, I think SW is the only diet where there is no need for resentment. Use your syns! Decide what it is that you really want today and have it, without guilt. Over time, you will get better at listening to yourself and deciding if you really want it. More and more often, you don't. I keep a diary where I just list my diet. I did this right from when I started SW. I look back and I can't believe all the things I could eat and still lose all the weight I have!!!

    7. You'll get to the point where you won't feel like the same person who used to polish off an entire packet of biscuits/family bar of chocolate/multipack of crisps (or was that just me?) Seriously, you will look back and scarcely believe how you used to live. Over time, it will become routine. You won't even think about it. It won't be a diet, it will just be life. That will feel awesome!

    8. Take care of the rest of you, too. My SW inspiration didn't celebrate weigh-in with a cheeky takeaway like most of our group. She celebrated by having a long bath, face mask, body butter, all the self-care stuff you never normally have time for. She said it was important, not only to change her relationship with food (she didn't feel the need to 'reward' herself with food anymore) but to send herself the signals that she was doing this for herself and that she was worth the effort. I have followed her example. It works. And it also helps to deal with the dry skin and stretch marks that sometimes come with weight loss.

    9. As you start to look thinner, and feel healthier, and all those little niggling health issues you always swore were nothing to do with your size start to vanish, you will wish you had done this much sooner!

    10. All of the time I have been doing SW was worth it, if only because I can finally wear summer dresses without chafing my thighs! :rotfl:

So... I hope that helps someone, anyway!

Abbafan ...how much?!?!?! I would just get a normal water botle and measure it and draw the lines etc on myself!!!!

Home bargains have one for 2.49 apparently, according to a post I saw on instagram last week. Not sure whether it has timings on the side but they hold the same amount of liquid. I have a hydrate m8 bottle and love it I find it really useful. They are good bottles, quite sturdy and don't leak. But yeah I agree it's a little expensive. I had some rare money left at the end of the month last year which was why I bought mine!

Mrs Shazbat, I know where you’re coming from. But I do like that SW gives me the freedom to choose what I want rather than ordering me to stick to a rigid plan. I like choosing to have a bit of shortie or go out for lunch. I know that I’m in charge, no one else. I make the decisions. Sometimes, as in all walks od life, they’re the wrong decisions. And I agree with you that SW online membership is pants – big Bridget Jones pants! But this is a great group, with lots of helpful friends.

    :T good loss esmy.

Good, thoughtful post larumbelle and go ahead and rant all you like mrsshazbat.:)

To add my two penn'orth, I think the SW way of eating is common sense. We need to have some of every food group but not in equal quantities. We know that wine and biscuits and chocolates should be treats not regular occurrences and 105 syns gives a structure to measure that just like the third Speed helps give an easy to judge proportion of how much fruit and veg we need.

Incidentally I got to target without any exercise to speak of. IMO exercise is good for toning and wellbeing but it's not essential for weightloss.

Squid is both free and protein.:)

think I just need a bit of time to be kind to myself and not beat myself up so much :/

That's great to hear lush, we can all benefit from that.:)

    Back on plan today 100%:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with veggie chilli, cottage cheese, pickled cabbage
D: Ham hash, cauli and broccoli
    Syns: NONE!
