Huge thanks to larumbelle and Maman for the motivating posts. I think the comment about celebrating with non-food rewards is interesting as I think that will also motivate you to stick to plan. I know when my hair has been cut, eyebrows are tidy, legs defuzzed (sorry for TMI) I'm more inclined to eat more healthily as I feel better about myself.
Congrats on getting outside for a run this morning Tete; I intended to but the cold outside lost to the warmth of my duvet, thing is I know I would feel better if I did go out. Target now is for the weekend!
As for the conversation on water bottles not quite the same idea as there's no measure but I was given a bobble bottle for Christmas and really like it - it does encourage me to drink more at work and is better for the environment than the plastic bottles I used to buy. It has a water filter in it though I've no idea of the cost to replace when it runs out.
Menu for tomorrow
L Peppers, chicken, salad leaves, tom, cucumber with yoghurt and mint dressing (natural yoghurt and mint sauce thanks to Maman though not sure if this has to be synned at all?), apple
D Salmon, mashed potato, leeks, kiwi
S Mango, Bourneville highlights (2)0 -
-2 for me this week.
Today will be:
Poached eggs and beans on toast
Lo chilli with salad
Cottage pie with lots of speed in and on the side.
Syns will probably be rice cake and Vino....
Have a good day! X0 -
Morning,
The snow came for us last night, but not too bad all in all.
Porridge with nectarines and blueberries on the go at the minute.
Feeling a bit stodgy today, hoping it doesn't affect weigh in too much tomorrow.
Made a lasagne with the Butternut Squash lasagne sheets from Sainsburys last night, so have that with a salad for lunch.0 -
:T great to see losses coming in!:D
lurker, the dip will depend on which mint sauce you used. Most brands are between 1 and 0.5 syns for a tablespoon but syns online says Colmans and Morrisons do a Garden Mint sauce which is free so worth considering for the future.
I've had my SW breakfast (HEB porage with HEA milk) but not sure where I'll be at lunchtime. Planning to try the new Asda chicken jalfrezi tonight, will let you know how it compares with the SW Iceland one.
Have a good day all. No snow here, brilliant sunshine.:D0 -
Morning all!
We didn't get any snow here until a little dusting around 2am, it is sunny today but boy is it COLD! LOL So yesterday I made a big batch of Tex-Mex turkey - minced turkey breast and masses of veggies cooked in HM fajita spice mix, which I serve with rice instead of wraps - which was just the thing to warm me up. I'm looking forward to the leftovers for lunch
Yesterdays menu:
Breakfast: Alpen light (HEB) and yoghurt (0.5 syn)
Lunch: Aldi sushi (2.5 syns) and a plain salad
Dinner: Tex-Mex turkey with brown rice, with HEA cheese sprinkled on top
Snacks: Alpen light (HEB), Sunbites (6 syns) 3 x Pepero (like Mikado with almonds, scrummy! 1 syn each)
Today's breakfast is Alpen and yoghurt again - I know, I know, but I still struggle to eat breakfast at all!
Lunch is leftover Tex-Mex turkey
Dinner will probably be HM butternut squash soup jazzed up into a veggie curry.
Have a good day all x0 -
Lots of snow here around 5am, it was lovely and blizzardy
I'm a bit weird I love to watch the snow falling, not overly keen on being outside in it though
I quite enjoyed my asda slimzone meal earlier this week maman The portions left a lot to be desired but the chicken dinner I had was quite tasty. Heaped the plate with extra veg and it wasn't too bad. The SW meals are such a good idea but unfortunately I only like the taste of a couple of them, shame as they are better value than the asda ones as they're bigger portions.
I tried the arla cooking quark with some pasta last night. Don't know if any of you have ever tried it, but it was delicious. Syn free too (I think!). The tomato and basil one makes a really decent pasta sauce. I adapted one of the Pinch Of Nom recipes for creamy tomato vodka pasta. Their website is amazing I think I'll have a proper scout around it this weekend
Today's food:
B - crunchy bran (hexb) with a muller light, banana and 2 cuppas (hexa)
L - JP with beans & cheese (remaining hexa)
T - Sausage casserole using asda's low fat sausages, will work out syns later - having that with mash, chopped toms, more baked beans and some kind of green veggie things
Low on speed today I know, I need to do a bit of a top up shop I'm running low on a few things
Have a good day everyone, stay warm

Have finally tried the Iceland SW tuna pasta salad.
Not my cup of tea at all.
There was hardly any tuna in it at all.
On looking at the ingrediants the tuna is only 10%.
Would not buy again
Had high hopes too.
I know it is easy to make pasta salad but sometimes I am just sooo tired.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Can anyone recommend sausages that aren't high on syns?? Just tried the Iceland SW ones and not at all impressed - bland flavour and odd texture.
I do like the Linda McCartney rosemary ones but would like a good flavoured meat sausage too.0 -
Thanks for the feedback beanie. Sorry to hear you're so tired.:)
I've been greedy and bought 2 slimzone curries for tonight. It's expensive (2@£2.50) compared with WW meals but not a bad price compared with a take away. Checking the ingredients there's 30% chicken, 45% peppers and onions and the rest is tomato based curry sauce with all the spices so I can see why they say it's suitable for EE. I don't know why they don't do smaller, cheaper, individual portion packs and the same is true of Iceland. We're having pilau rice and a few mushrooms with that and some SW chips.:D It'll be a few syns but not too bad. I think the rice is 2 (shared) and last thing I read about 1.5 each for the curry.
I had a late lunch of some LO ham hash with loads of mushrooms and pickled cabbage so quite a good day all round.
Wine syns tonight.:j0 -

I like these
Sainsbury's BGTY Cumberland. They are 1 syn per sausage. I think Asda do something similar but I've not tried them myself.
If you like burgers then the BGTY quarter pounders are great and really not worth the faff of making your own.
The burgers are 1 syn each too and an easy meal straight from the freezer.
Sausages are in the chiller but burgers are frozen.0
