6.5 lb off for me. Really happy with that especially as I mucked up over the weekend.

Tete, I know exactly what you mean about the relationship between smell and taste. I also have a similar thing with colour and so does a friend of mine, e.g. she showed me a pink cardigan she was knitting and I said that I’d like one too, but in the same shade of green – and she made me it!

Err, no you've lost me there I'm afraid! I know people who talk about being able to hear colours and I don't get that either!

This thread seems to move at a lightening pace - how do you all keep up? Any tips? I seem to loose where I've read to.

Same as Lantanna, I thank all the post and look for the first unthanked one. The other way with the subscribed threads sounds better though!

Wow that's interesting, I'm sure there'll be plenty on offer where you're going - have a great time!

Evening all - well done to all the losers and thanks Shala for the chart - over 2st lost already! :T

Today was my first day back out at work and that was a wrench let me tell you but I enjoyed it when I got myself there.

    B - Nothing, sorry.
D - Bacon, mushroom and onion scrambled omelette thingy with two eggs, plus some raw mushrooms because I just can't resist them.
T - SW ready meal, the beef and red onion with veg mash.
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - 2x Alpen Light
Syns - Extra cup of coffee (milk and sugar) 2, sugar in other coffees 4, Options hot choc 2 ... and I'll probably take another to bed with me to 2 more, TOTAL: 10

All my Syns are basically always just sugar :o I bl00dy love the stuff.

I made the meatball minestrone stew thing last night as planned (from current mag) - it is really tasty and FULL of veg. It took a long time for the macaroni to cook so perhaps that could be cooked separately and added, or use a less dense pasta, and I didn't enjoy the meatballs really so would maybe make it with mince next time but at least the meatballs are used now, I won't buy them again. I also subbed the celery for courgette. Here endeth the recipe review.

I'm feeling extremely hefty today, though I did burst into tears earlier so I may be pre-menstrual, or maybe it's being back in work clothes after a month braless under big baggy jumpers :o
    Weightloss: 14.5/65lb
  • Going to try the meatball minestrone stew at the weekend, will save some (hopefully) for next weeks work dinners.

Will also be my "new recipe of the week"

Going to try red Thai curry tommorow but using coconut yogurt instead of low fat milk, will see how it goes!

Brilliant losses rolling in. Well done! :T

Nutrabullet, mostly Kale, only half an apple, half a banana and quarter of lime. Have never syned my smoothies as homemade and only add a bit of fruit for sweetness.

My opinion is if in small quantities (i.e similar to what you would eat) is fine. Avoid shop bought ones, avoid juicing 12 prices of fruit. If you know what's in it, fine.

Let's face it, SW let us have a snack bar full of sugar and fructose and call it a "healthy" extra (yes I eat those too:D)
I know which of the two have more nutritional value!
I think the issue is about fibre being broken down before eating in a smoothie compared with eating whole fruit. But like denise says you don't need to worry unless your weightloss stalls.

I know you say you don't use your syns it is a mistake as they are part of the plan and should be used. It doesn't have to be used on sweet things - you could use them for things like gravy, sauces, mayo, extra cheese, bread, crackers, butter etc.

If I don't have my full 105 syns a week then I tend not to lose anything.

Try using your syns and see if it helps your weight loss.

I'm planning on enjoying my 2 weeks AI and the sun!

I suspect I'll be in need for some vegetables when I get back home:rotfl:.

    Denise

thanks, going to make more of an effort to use syns, so had 2 light alpen bars -3 syns each and a bowl of quark with an options hot chocolate mixed in 3 syns, then went to bed feeling over stuffed lol

hope you have a fab holiday

B porridge with raspberries and muller light, coffee 2 with hint of milk
L Broccoli and cheese soup with salad of beetroot, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes 2 black coffees, 2 nescafe cappuccinos (6 syns)
D chicken tikka with tilda rice 1 syn, and kale, and spinach
S probably a mullerlight, will have some syns probably a slice of cheese 35g halloumi ? 6 syns

    skinny hugs to all

I'm the same at the moment. Trying to resist the temptation to eat anything and everything that I always get at this time. I am making my daughter have salt and vinegar crisps only and the husband is only allowed digestive biscuits as I don't like them, and they are therefore not a temptation in the house

I will be interested to know how the curry is as I absolutely love Thai curry and would love to be able to still have it regularly

For me it is now the start of week 2 and I'm determined to make it a good one. Need to learn to stay strong so I don't go off the plan at weekends. Also want to start adding in exercise.

    So today:
Breakfast - ff yogurt and berries
Lunch - chopped salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radish) with ff cottage cheese as the dressing with sw quiche (asparagus, mushroom, tomato, kale, tiniest bit of leftover wensleydale and egg)
Dinner - hm burger with bacon (not in a roll but hubby's and daughters is), with sw chips and chopped salad.
Snacks - cucumber, melon, apple, muller light and alpen light bars

HA - milk and cheese in quiche
    HB - Alpen light bars

Exercise - 10 mins on exercise bike

Also need to go shopping. Run out of tomatoes, oranges, bananas, strawberries and carrots. My daughter has decided she wants them in her packed lunch too :)

My first weigh yesterday of 2017 and it was PLUS 0.5

I was expecting a gain after a week where I have been struggling to get back on plan plus two meals out. Determined however to have a good week this week.

My breakfast today was boiled eggs and HEB bread.

Lunch is the rest of my goats cheese and beetroot salad from sainsburys (need to look up syns/see if goats cheese is a HEA option)

and dinner is chicken stir fry with a sauce (also need to work out the syns).

Snacks are grapes and grapefruit and melon or pears and if I have chocolate syns then it might be a kit kat which I think is 5.5 but will check.

How great that you're setting such a good example for her! Stay strong - don't let the hormones win!!

Cazza - that stew recipe makes loads, I got four big portions out of it but should probably have made it five :o

Eric that's not too bad a gain - you'll lose it easily this week :)

Had a sneaky look on the scales this morning and things are going in the right direction so that's strengthened my resolve for the next two days til weigh day.

I'm going to the cinema tonight for the National Theatre screening of The Tempest, so I'm going to coat some almonds in a melted Freddo as a snack - I am so excited to try it!

B - Apple and raspberries with FF natural yoghurt and a sprinkling of sweetener (I'm really not keen on rasps, I don't know why I bought them!)
D - Bacon, mushroom, onion and tomato omelette again
T - Salmon with potato and broccoli
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - 16 almonds
Syns - Extra 8 almonds (3), Freddo (5), Options hot choc (2) and sugar in coffee (4)

Have a good day all, it's hump day! x

    Morning,

    It is cold!

Had a nice relaxing night last night, back to the gym tonight. Sneaky mid week weigh in shows sts. Hopefully it will drop by Saturday. Really working on increasing the fluids, but finding it hard - just as its so cold I think.

Really hoping for a loss on Saturday just to get the New Year and the challenge off to a good start.

13 weeks til I am in the sun again so keeping that in the back of my mind to motivate me.
