GTS it's amazing how that sixth sense kicks in sometimes. Your Aunt sounds like a great lady.

Welcome to all our newbies, the thread feels full of energy and determination :)

Having a speed day today so:

Breakfast: porridge (HEB with milk HEA, sprinkle of sugar 1 syn)
Lunch: Ham salad with roasted root vegetables (1 syn for the oil)
    Dinner: SW cottage pie
Snacks: Satsumas x2, Apple Sliceof toast (2nd HEB) with butter (2 syns)
Drinks; Tea with milk - rest of HEA allowance and one sugar (1 syn) Diet coke, water
  • Wiz,rice cakes are usually either 1.5 or 2 syns each if they are plain ones.
  • Hi all, hope it's ok if I jump on board, as seriously in need of some moral support and accountability along the way.

I previously lost 9stone 3lb with slimming world, but between having a baby and then suffering with RA, fibro and crohns seeing steroids being a pretty constant necessity over the last 3.5 years I've put back on nearly 4 stone

2017 is going to be about focusing on what I CAN change/control rather then worrying about what I can't which is a mindset that has seen the last 2 years of my life drift past without any advances made, and I've felt myself drifting further and further into a rut so here I am, after lurking and being to worried to post for the last week I'm jumping in

I weighed myself yesterday morning and I weigh 208lb (on my scales at home, I was only 203 on the scales at the hospital the day before but I can't use those for weekly weigh ins ) and am determined to be below 190lb before March.

    Today's meal plan is:

    B: 2 weetabix + 250ml almond milk and a satsuma.
L: Salmon, lettuce, toms, peppers, pickled onions, cornichons, grated carrot and 1tbsp low fat salad cream.
D: Chicken stir fry - using dried noodles, and any veg that we have in as well as making the sauce myself.

Snacks: satsumas, apples, pears all available in the fruit bowl and I have a couple of muller light yoghurts and mugshots available if need be.

hope you all have a good day xx
  • So today's plan is

B scrambled egg, fried mushrooms and tomatoes

L beans on toast HEB fruit and FF yoghurt

D HM aloo gobi and roti
I'm using 25g wholewheat flour = 4syns. Not sure how many roti that will make yet so see later and may double quantity.

HEA milk for teas and used a little in scrambled egg and mushrooms at breakfast.

I'm also going to make a beef curry ready for tomorrow so I don't resort to ordering a usual friday night takeaway.

Have a good day everyone and hello to changeoffocus congrats on taking the plunge and posting.

All the talk of grated carrot has led me to have it last night as part of my dinner and as part of my salad lunch! More talk of speed foods please! It clearly is a good influence on me at the minute lol

    Hi everyone.
my meal plan is exactly the same as yesterday
Breakfast - bacon, mushrooms and tinned tomatoes,
Lunch - fish pie with lots of vegetables
Early evening - porridge with blueberries
    Snacks - carrot batons

My HEXA is milk in tea HEXB is the porridge (made with water) and my syns will be the additional milk and bit of butter used in my fish pie.
I have meetings today at odd times and evening class this evening so an early start/late finish. If I am starving when I come home I will have an egg.
I will not get in a proper walk today, so I'll do some stretching exercises.

Don't know if you know but blueberries are only a Free food and not a Speed food. It would be better if you could have some other berries, such as strawberries, raspberries or blackberries as they are speed. I usually use frozen mixed berries as I can just get out a portion to defrost and don't then have any waste.

Good idea making the curry today as it means you'll be in the position of know what you're going to eat and also it always tastes better when it's reheated, I think:D

I know what you mean! If I've bought carrots to make soup I always use a couple of them grated in salads, in mince dishes and anything else I can get away with it. Can't stand carrots as a boiled vegetable with my dinner. The only way I'll have it with my meal is roasted.

WI went better than I hoped - I lost a lb but was fairly certain it was going to be either STS or only 1/2lb.

Where's my manners? I should have said welcome to the thread ChangeofFocus and well done on posting. As you are restarting SW by yourself it's probably worthwhile rereading the 1st post which outlines the post as I think some things have changed in the last couple of years. Also if you have any questions feel free to post.

You may also want to post up your menus each day and in that way regulars can look at them for you and check you are getting enough Speed food, having enough syns etc. Today's plan looks good apart from the fact you have hardly any syns, it looks as though you are only having the light salad cream as syns and that isn't really enough. You should have between 5-15 syns a day.

Flat Eric - I think you'd find yourself staying fuller for longer if you have some protein in your breakfast, for example, rather than the Marmite on toast you're having today how about a toasted bacon & mushroom sandwich or boiled egg & soldiers. HTH.

    Good luck.

afternoon all, weigh day and hectic here!

breakfast: (pre work event) 35g bran flakes with 125ml semi skimmed (1/2 hea and heb)
at work event: tea (milk from hea) and 2 custard creams (6 - so not worth it)
lunch: wasn't really in the think ahead mood last night or this morning but now I am ravenous so am probably going to grab a salad box (probably just with roast pork or prawns with no sauce if they do them) :)
tea: post group; something from the fridge and probably a few syns (6 max for pate and crispbread :) )

Anyone else exhausted with the first week of being back at everything.

Forgot my phone today always puts me in a bad mood!

Thanks for the tip Maman I have some of those moisturisers in the house so will get using them.

I'm just easing myself back in this week, trying to get into the structure of SW again, come Saturday after weigh in it will be all systems go.

Really looking forward to the weekend and having one to myself doing very little!

Yes I am finding it a real struggle. I will be so glad to have a lie in on Saturday and hopefully have a restful day. I think that by the time we switch off and relax for the xmas break, its time to come back and get back to normal. We need double the time off!
  • Oooh, I've just seen the new mullerlight limited edition.
Liquorice and blackcurrant! One of my favourite sweeties. Can't wait to try those.
