  • Good morning.
    I joined SW on Jan 2nd at 15st 11 1/2 lbs.
Week six saw me at 14st 1 1/2 lbs. 24 lbs loss :j

I'm enjoying the plan so far. Completely cutting out alcohol had helped the weight loss, I'm sure.

How do others manage sweet cravings during "that time of the month"?

I ate a full 170g bar of white Toblerone last night
I'm not expecting a loss this afternoon as we have been in half term this week, so I've been eating at different times.

    Welcome ship rob95.

I find alpen light cereal bars are good for sweet cravings. Also the Aldi version, or the ones you get from SW meetings. You can have 2 a day as your HB

Great loss moneysavingme - wish I could manage 4lb in a week! I'm lucky if I get a lb, using just 1/2 for me.

Good luck Lantanna for the interview tomorrow.

Another EE day for me today:

B - porridge; mixed frozen fruit salad - 3 types of melon, grapes, strawberries & raspberries
L - ham, fried up LO pots & veg; beetroot, pickled onions
D - sweet & sour pork with rice - using LO roast pork joint and HM S&S sauce

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge
Syns - cornflour 1; not sure what else yet but maybe some dark choc

  • MissTeach - targets are tricky things aren't they, I've been thinking about setting mine recently, I was thinking around a size 10 ish too, but then that's smaller than I've ever been in my adult life :/

ali-t -I've seen the adverts for that, and was thinking about doing similar, though I then watched sugar free farm and thought about going the whole hog, and sugar free (well keeping in fruit and maybe white pasta), I seem to be wanting everything sweet all the time since Christmas and want to get out of the habit. I'm sitting on the fence at the moment as annoyingly I have a weekend in London part way through and it's work so I have no control over what I have and often their breakfasts are pastries, but I guess some sugar free is better than none right?

shipr!!!95 I agree with katheryn the aplen light or hifi are our go tos the hifi are sweeter but alpen more filling...or it's meringues for us you can get mini lemon or coconut ones from M&S that work out as about half a syn each or 7.5 for the whole tub of coconut, or 7 for the whole tub of lemon :)

I had my 7 speed but not water, must drink more water, and I had a few guestimates yesterday and would say I finished at around 17 syns... meh my boyfriend is a bad influence, he offered me a slice of bread with my soup at least 4 times! I declined that but the cookie bites were harder.... lol
I've had 1syn so far today in sugar on my weetabix, not a clue what I'm going to have for the rest of the day though :/maybe chicken noodle soup for lunch not done that in a while, and we have chicken left form yesterdays roast so nice easy one.
    Dinner not a clue...
Snacks apple and hifi probably trying to wean myself off yogurts a bit.

Feels like everything is against me these last two weeks, cold then time of the month, there have been 2 days of high syns, but also I've done more exercise we're talking going from no exercise or yoga once a week to doing a dvd 3 times a week even though I had the cold! and the scales just keep going up. Right now it;s looking like I will end Feb at exactly the same weight I ended January at, which is the same weight I was just before Christmas! How is this even possible
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....

:T great loss moneysaverme. I think keeping to 10 syns allows leeway for any mistakes in calculating. I keep meaning to try it myself.:o:whistle:

You've made an excellent start shiprob. Almost 2 stone in 6 weeks. That's fantastic!:T

Keeping fingers firmly crossed for your interview lantanna.:) What's the plan with the parents this week?

Back to EE today though I have missed my bananas :D

B - hexb cheerios with milk & chopped banana, 2 cuppas
L - JP with tuna mayo and salad
T - nacho style feast, potato wedges, spring greens

Syns today: roughly 2 for light mayo, probably 6 for the primula light on my tea as I've used hexa already, maybe a packet of pom bears later 4.5 syns

Have a good day everyone xx

Looking at my ancient book, you could have 113g of tuna (so a can) and call it a Green day. The tuna would be your second HEB and the Primula your second HEA. So, just following the menu plan would be 6 syns fewer.

I won't be 100% on plan today as we're eating out this evening and wine syns will be involved too. I've chosen in advance (smoked salmon and steak) but no idea what will come with them. Back on it tomorrow, planning to do SP.:)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, ham, HEB toast, fried egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, HEA milk for drinks
L: bacon with LO fried veg and beetroot
    D: smoked salmon, steak
    Syns: tba

    Afternoon all

Well the anniversary/valentines celebrations caught up with me on the scales this morning - 1lb gain for me please Shala.

I'm not doing very well with this challenge and I'm really annoyed with myself as I had such good intentions for my time in Spain and here I am with 5 weeks left and nowhere near the 21lbs loss I was aiming for. I've given myself a severe talking to and my plan for this week is to keep daily Syns to a minimum to allow for the 2 meals out that are planned. I've been trying to do 777 but I'm having too many flexible Syns when we're out.

Someone mentioned the weight they were 10 years ago and it set me thinking about my weight history - I wish I'd kept records of all my attempts to lose weight, which is most of my life, broken up with periods when I've given up trying because I was either depressed or stressed, it would make quite an interesting graph. I know I got to target for my 25th wedding anniversary which was in 2003, and I maintained for a year, but then a family upset took my focus off maintaining and with some fluctuations up and down, by 2014 I was back where I started.

Funnily enough I am actually the same weight today as I was at the age of 16! My family didn't have bathroom scales then but I knew I was overweight and went to the doctor hoping for a prescription for something that would magically turn me into Twiggy and got a shock when I stood on the scales, so the numbers stayed in my memory to this day.

Anyway, sorry for the essay, I'm just feeling a bit retrospective today.

Lantanna - good luck with the interview.

Welcome to the thread Shiprob and well done for your great results so far. I actually thought you were a man as they often lose large amounts but when you mentioned TOTM I realised you weren't! :rotfl:

Well done Moneysaverme and all the losers and commiserations if you've gained.

Have a good day everyone. I'll be back later for the chart.

Ooh I like that idea thanks maman I always forget meat can be a HEB in old style plans. Although in the end I didn't fancy tuna so I had a veg stir fry. Green day still might work for me though if someone with an old style book can tell me how much 5% fat mince you can have on a green day?
  • Hi CANDYAPPLE, I will track down my green book and see if I can help. Be back shortly!

Good luck tomorrow LANTANNA, fingers crossed.

Don't give up WHIPLASHY, just try again tomorrow.

LOIS, five weeks is still enough time to make an impact.

SHIPROB, brilliant results, thanks for sharing.

Dinner tonight is baked potato, quorn something (not sure what yet), lots of green veg and onion gravy. Yum x
