  • Sorry I haven't posted but I managed to stay the same last week which given I was acting like some unofficial ambulance service between my mum & BIL I was impressed with.

A little fed up - it's all foggy here and I really really want spring to come....have had enough of dark mornings & nights

Staying the same is an achievement in those circumstances.

Know what you mean about the weather, although for the first time in months today it was not totally dark when I arrived at work. Things are looking up.

    Todays plan:
    Breakfast - overnight oats
    Lunch - Ham salad
    Dinner - Jacket potato
    Snacks - fruit

    HA - milk
    HB - oats

    Fingers crossed for WI tonight

    Bonjour!

Half term, including valentine's meals and meals out, has passed and I've somehow managed to STS, think a bit of a stomach upset towards the end of the week helped there.

Back on track now, with a run in to Easter!

    Today -

B - Cheese, potato, onion and mushroom omelette (fridge fishing) and 2 apples. 2 syns for cheese (15g of 50% reduced fat) as am hexing my milk today.

D - Potato, bacon and leek soup and a melon pot.

T - Porky lights (1.5 for 3), mashed potatoes, vegetables and onion gravy.

Later on, an options (2) and either an alpen light or two, or some mini ryvitas as my hexb.

BM - The floors need a good scrubbing tonight with the recent weather and Top Dog being an utter tramp. Plus the usual commute.

    Hope you're all well :)

I know, it's just made me feel a little down. I really haven't been eating enough for the last few weeks, so it's probably my body just holding on to all I'm putting in. Also know hormones arent helping.

A weight gain would just be a rather naff end to a hideously bad week.

Kathryn, even though it's probably the last thing you feel like doing, might you feel better for making up a big batch of one of your fave hearty SW meals (that would be a big speedy spag bol for me!), or even a really nutritious soup if you don't feel like you could stomach much? It may help you feel a little stronger physically and give you comfort knowing you're eating healthily and not going completely awry?

Also cooked a bit of extra rice when doing dinner and am having overnight rice for breakfast tomorrow. Sounds bizarre but I like overnight oats but I normally like to save my HeB for my hifi bars in the evening as having those to look forward to in the evening is one of the things that stops me snacking during the day. So I've mixed my rice with grated apple, frozen cherries and a toffee muller light for tomorrow morning.

I don't go to class so I'm not sure but isn't this a 'tweak'? My friend got told off by her consultant for doing something similar with couscous rather than porridge

HEB is a funny one for me - quite often I don't have one at all but other days I want about three.

I managed six glasses of water yesterday although I was just drinking plain water - does squash count? If so then I can definitely do better with some hot Ribena added in to the mix!

    Plan for today:
    B - Weetabix
Snack - bowl of melon and passion fruit with FF Greek yog
D - Tuna salad: grated carrot, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and pickled beetroot and cornichons
T - Steak with Aunt Bessie Carrot and Swede mash, tenderstem broccoi and fine beans
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Weetabix
Syns - Sugar in coffee (2), mash (1), maybe some butter on my veg tonight (2), hot choc (2) = 7
(and ten different speed foods :A)

I have an opticians appointment at midday so will have my fruity snack just before I leave and hopefully that'll do me til I get home for my delicious and tempting salad.

    Have a good day all!

Tete en l'air, that's actually on this weeks to do list anyway, so that I have some healthy meals in the freezer for next week when I'm at home recovering, and not allowed to do owt strenuous, as I know hubby will suggest a takeaway every night if it's up to him to sort out dinner, so it's only a matter of making a bit more.

My lack of speed last week was more to do with meals out, although I should of counterbalanced that with fruit as snacks, but I didn't feel like it.
Reckon if I put some orange segments in the fridge and some strawberries I could be tempted to snack on them.

  • Ok. Giving myself a kick as there's no one else to do it for me!

Yesterday I di really well until the evening when hubs brought home a Chinese and my dad bought us doughnuts. I wasn't going to eat mine but I ended up having it then felt like poop :(

    anyway fighting again today:
breakfast: 30g oats with 125ml semi skimmed milk microwaved for 90secs then topped with some chopped strawberries, grated apple, sprinkle of cinnamon and 1tsp (measured properly with a real measuring spoon) of peanut butter for a mini protein boost. 1.5syn
cup of tea (milk from remaining hea - measured in to a small milk bottle on my desk for drinks later on)
lunch: medium potato baked in microwave - going to pick up a small salad on my lunch to eat with it and topping it with coronation tuna from aldi - 1 syn
mid afternoon: 2 easy peelers (also have an aldi groovy biscuit, 6 syns OR special k biscuit moments, 5syns, in case I fancy a sweet thing)
tea at home will be: chicken topped with bacon served with some baked mushrooms, red cabbage, beetroot, pickled onions, a little lettuce.
syns left for a 2 syn hot choc in the evening if I fancy one.
extra drinks: tea with remaining milk or water/nas squash

with all I've been struggling recently I haven't had chance or motivation to do my fitness dvd or anything so tonight I am going to push myself to do 6 sections of the 12 (aiming for half as it's under 30 mins so not too much time out).

pay day Friday and I'm going to make a real meal plan and do a mix of low and mid syn main meals that we all like and stick to it as the food budget is creeping up again.

Maman, or anyone else, can you remind me which burgers are low syn at Sainsburys?

Well done on your STS despite all celebrations topgirl. Good to have you back too.:)

I'm not sure eating rice for breakfast is a tweak tete, it's just a portion of rice that you could have with any meal but even if it is a tweak as the consultant said to me last week, if it's not affecting your weightloss then go for it!:)

My meal last night was quite SW friendly except for some vinaigrette and oil but wine syns weren't syn free sadly. :( I'm out again tomorrow so this week's a bit of a write off so I'm doing the best I can which is to be angelic in between.

    SP plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, fried veg (all Speed) beetroot
D: cottage pie with swede & carrot topping, broccoli, cauli
    Syns: scrape of spread

    Afternoon all

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done MSM for SOTW. :T

Good to see you Lush - doughnuts don't agree with me. In a past life when I worked in an office, KrispyKremes opened a shop near to work and my colleagues were always buying them in large quantities for everyone to share - I was doing SW at the time and quite pleased it was doughnuts as I didn't have any problem resisting them.

Talking of Tweaks reminds me of a lovely pudding recipe I used to make all the time until SW decided we shouldn't use couscous in place of flour. We had it at least once a week and I managed to lose 6.5 stone, so it goes to show that moderation is the key.

I'm thinking of planning some red days into my menu - I know it's similar to SP but you can still have free foods like yogurt and banana which would help to make up for the lack or carbs. And I can have 2 HEAs and 2 HEBs :D. I definitely used to do better when there was only red and green days.

Well I've got a pile of ironing calling out to me so I'll catch up with you all later.
