candyapple - potato is HEB not HEA on a Red day. HEA is always for calcium so milk or cheese. HEB is for fibre which is why a baked potato can be had on a Red day - you can also have boiled new potatoes in their skin but haven't got the amount to hand at the moment; but can look up later if you want?

Whoops I totally meant HEB :D thanks denise my brain's just not in gear today. I was having a poke about on facebook earlier and there are 2 groups dedicated to red & green days and in the files section are the booklets for each plan including the HEs so I might not need to bug you all for the amounts from now on. I might try a week of just red / green days to see if it makes a difference, could do with mixing it up a little bit.

Well my opticians is right beside a Greggs and the smell of that delicious greasy pastry permeated the whole place but I remained strong and came home for my boring salad - medal please! I do think healthy eating is hard for Northerners as we are so used to our pasties, gravy, etc :D

PS - Aunt Bessie's Carrot and Swede mash was on offer for £1 in Tesco earlier, almost half price. Such a good thing to keep in the freezer and only half a Syn per 100g.

:T:T well done tete I find it so hard to walk past a Greggs and not pop in for something. They've got better in recent years now and do relatively low syn salads, I'm totally addicted to their lattes but used to think nothing of buying sandwiches and pastry laden things from there pre-SW.

Have also just discovered that carrot & swede mash and its gorgeous. I'm normally not a fan of cooked carrot but this is really nice, and you can get a fair amount for 1 syn too. Off to Tesco tomorrow I'll have to stock up :)

Over my syns today already thanks to an opened packet of ginger nut biscuits calling my name  so trying to be angelic for the rest of the night now!

2 lb off tonight. Happy with that after getting on the scales yesterday.

  • I hadn't really considered the rice being a tweak Tete.

I posted a picture of it on my sw group's facebook page and my consultant gave it a love rating! So I'm taking that to mean it's ok! It wasn't a big portion of rice. No more than I'd eat for any other meal and with lots of fruit. It kept me full until lunch time as well. I shall ask tomorrow and see. I'll report back.

TOday's food has been on plan:

Breakfast: overnight rice with toffee muller light, grated apple and cherries
Lunch: left over stir fry veggies from last night, with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and ham to bulk it out a bit. Plus a light & free yoghurt
Dinner: Burger (1 syn from muscle foods) with chips (3 syns for olive oil), onions, mushrooms, gherkins, beetroot, baked beans and my HeA of mozzerella.
Snack: satsuma and half a pear.

Still need to use my HeB so will have a couple of hifi bars in a bit and something sweet!

    sncak: 2 satsuma
lunch: SW chicken noodles with apple and ML yoghurt
Dinner 2 x burgers, cheese and schar ciabatta (6 syns) salad

Need to go and sort out the things from the freezer for tomorrows breakfast and lunch.

    Breakfast: tomato and mushroom omlette
    snack: 2 x satsuma
lunch: lentil soup, apple and yoghurt
    dinner: spaghetti bolognaise

ooo please share, I need a pudding recipe!

I used to make a pineapple and lemon couscous cake but I think the recipe has been deleted. This recipe was what it was based on with the juice and zest of a lemon and 4 pineapple rings added.

There's a SW recipe thread here with a long list of puddings, but you need to be aware that they're not all in line with recent changes to syn values so check before you eat!

    Hi all
I'm still here, had a horrendous week- not been able to weigh this week due to an emergency with the gas pipe in the new kitchen  it's really difficult to food optimise as have no access to kitchen! Did my best yesterday though, been off plan for a week so needed to give myself a shake.

So hard to be good with no kitchen Mrs Ryan. Hope it hasn't effected your weight loss too much. You can only do your best.

I now have 5 days to be good before the operation, so going to try my best. Obviously won't be weighing in next week, and I really can't see me being that good whilst recovering, so got to try my best now whilst I can.

    Todays plan:
    Breakfast - overnight oats
Lunch - Ham and cottage cheese salad
Dinner - Bacon, egg, mushroom and tomatoes
Snacks - fruit (although I seem to have given up snacking)

    HA - Milk
    HB - oats

Well I am off work till Friday and I was going to do overnight oats for this morning and I fell asleep on the sofa last night and it was too late to do it.

So for breakfast this morning I had 2 x chocolate weetabix. The trouble is with being at home I have a habit of picking at foods I shouldn't (like biscuits).

We have a taster session at group on Saturday morning - does anyone have any ideas please? Just something simple ;)

Hope everyone has a good day!
