Glad the interview went well lantanna. You obviously impressed them.:T
Sorry to hear about the mishap lush. I almost had a similar issue last night with a bottle of soy sauce but I managed to catch it mid flight! It's as well they chose the England cricket captain last week otherwise I'd have been in the frame.:D

Sounds like you didn't get much time to yourself last night. You need a wife to look after you!;)

My bolognese recipe (delicious :) )

There, we have 675g free food and 1350g speed.

So, as long as I have less than a kilo of cooked pasta with it (I tend to cook 100g per person, which is just over 200g each cooked, yes I have weighed it! :D) then I am more than within my 'limits'. Yet, because there's no salad, people argue that I'm wrong.

Rubbish! I think most of us on here make our Bolognese (and chilli, curry, savoury mince etc) which only has meat and then everything else is Speed.

Out again tonight at Blanc's Brasserie. I've checked the menus and, a bit like Monday, there are things that would be fine if adapted to SW but there will probably be oil and butter syns. My current ploy is to be as good as I can in between to try not to gain too much.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese and pickles
    D: tba

I hadn't really considered the rice being a tweak Tete.I posted a picture of it on my sw group's facebook page and my consultant gave it a love rating!

Your consultant must be a bit less over zealous than my friend's then! :D

Soup makers came up at our meeting a few weeks back. General opinion was they are good if you like lots of soup, but not worth it if you already have a slow cooker and a hand blitzer.

I have that one too and I agree I only really use it for smooth soups because I don't have a blitzer, otherwise, particularly if the soup contains meat to be browned, then you may as well just use a pan. It is nice to just roughly chop veg and bung it in with some stock though.

Agreed on the Speed issue - I never have extra on the side of bolognese or chilli because like you say, the sauce is always all Speed apart from the meat so that's easily 1/3 of the plate.

Well done and continued good luck Lantanna!

Well done on the loss Kathryn!

Hope your day improves Lush, they say these things come in threes.

Today (still attempting 777 though haven't managed 7 glasses of water yet!):
B - Melon and passion fruit with FF Greek yog
D - Pesto pasta with bacon, onion, mushroom, carrot and cherry toms
T - Italian chicken and tomato soup (containing onion, carrot, chopped toms, lemon)
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Pistachios
Syns - Pesto (1.5), sugar in coffee (3), hot choc (2)

Going to make the effort to go to run club this evening so having a hearty lunch and smaller tea because I won't get home til after 8pm. Hope Doris calms herself down by then!

Doris has been eating too much speed and has a major issue with wind :)

I'm hoping all the roadwork barriers and cones have been cleared up by the time I go home from work. They were all over the roads this morning on my way in.

  • Hi All,

I have been a member of SW since June 2016 and have lost just over 2 stone (1 stone before that). I need to lose 1st 10lb to meet my target but I'm not getting anywhere at the moment.

I was slowly loosing until xmas then I put on 5lb and keep loosing a few lbs then putting them back on so as of today I am back to where I was the week after Christmas! I'm so frustrated and find myself obsessing over food which isn't good for me mentally. I have tried food diary and this seems to work but I was wondering if anyone else has any motivation tips? I really just want to quit at the moment as I feel embarrassed to go with little progress.

    Thanks

    Jess

    afternoon all.

had a couple extra syns last night but still under 15 so happy with that:)

on the soup maker question I have the cuisinart one and I bloomin love it. It has a frying plate at the bottom so you can do the browning of meat, onions etc all in the soup maker. super quick super easy, freezer is stocked and really easy to clean.

    Plan for today.....
    B: Muller light and melon
L: lots of speed in a salad!
D: undecided - need to figure something out
    HEB scan bran HEA Milk
Syns - 5 for a couple of gins later!
    walk 2018 miles in 2018 - 781 of 2018

Your total weight loss is still really good, even if you have gone off it since Christmas.

Don't quit. Plan and keep a food diary. Probably worth re-reading all the books from the start, just to remind and re-enthuse you.
Don't be embarrassed about going to weigh ins with little progress. There are a number in my group like that, but if they gave up and stopped coming to group they would probably be gaining every week.

Am thinking about buying a soup maker with some birthday money I had.

The reviews for the Morphy Richards 501016 seem really good.

Does anyone else here have one? What are your thoughts please?
