What are you basing that on? BMI? weight you used to be? etc?
BMI isnt a great measurement, especially for active people.
Wanting to get back to an old weight is difficult too. Since having a kid my shape has changed. My chest never went back down. So the old weight might not be practical
Your target weight should be what is right for you!
You are right.

Thanks, had a good supper so that I'm not too hungry in the morning.
It sounds like you are probably at about the right target for you. Coping with pain isn't good especially when you are trying to lose weight. Also you don't want to get too skinny if you are falling, cos it will increase your chance of injury.

Morning all, lots of interesting chat about weight loss being more difficult the more you do it. I'm definitely finding it harder now than I did losing a stone and a half at the age of about 27. More life stress and an older body maybe? Also I run now and didn't then, which definitely makes me eat more. Why I don't look like Mo is beyond me.
I've not really heard a lot about the Asda meals, but am interested to know why SW could sue them? Surely lots of places do their own brand 'slimming/lower cal' meals? And other brands make food that's free/almost free (Pasta n Sauce, Mugshots, Alpen...) so what's the problem? Are their Iceland meals taking a hit? Are the Asda ones actually free when put through the calculator? I've heard a lot of people saying they're nicer than the Iceland ones.
Finished yesterday on 13.5 but a sneaky peek at the scales did not herald good news for Friday. I think TOTM may be on the way which won't help. Today is a day out so:
B - Satsumas and Muller light
D - Something delicious and off plan
T - Mustard chicken and bacon stew from freezer (1 Syn), depending on how hungry I am I have a pack of carrots and peas to use up and/or some Aunt Bessie carrot and swede mash.
And I'll be doing a lot of walking - fitbit at the ready!
Hugs to all who need them, sounds like a few xxx Have a good day all xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Its because of how the meals are being advertised Tete.
Syns belong to slimming world (copyright) so only they can talk about them. Anyone can make low calorie meals etc but no one can talk in terms of Slimming Word apart from Slimming World. Any Slimming World jargon such as syns, free foods, superfree etc are all under copyright.
There was a woman advertising a slimming world breakfast in a caf! somewhere in England and she was put a stop to too. Butchers cant call their sausages Slimming World Sausages eith and that's been put a stop too loads of time all over.
You can do whatever you want call it diet meal, slimming meal, low calorie etc but just not refer to slimming world or use any of the slimming world jargon. Also Slimming world have nothing to do with the meals and people may think that the meals are somewhat endorsed by them when they are not. So technically Asda are benefiting financially from Slimming World when Slimming World are not involved.
Hope that makes sense!0 -
Those free foods low syn like Pasta and Sauce / Muller lights etc aren't advertised directly by the producer as free foods / low syn. Its slimming world that calls them that. And no doubt there is some mutually beneficial financial arrangement between Slimming World and these companies to do so.0

Pleased that topboy's birthday meal went well, topgirl. Can we have a recipe for the leek and bacon soup please?
Certainly
1 pack Asda basics unsmoked back bacon (all fat removed, about 200g)
2 leeks, thinly sliced
1 large carrot and 1 large onion, peeled and thinly sliced
200g potato, peeled and diced
750 ml chicken stock
50g pearl barley
Pre-cook the bacon, then throw it all in the pan/soup maker and cook til all the veg is soft, then blend. Lovely and free J

What about just trying to maintain for a while Beanie? Making no decision about target for now but just maintaining for a while and see how you feel ?0

Regarding use of the SW name, I had an argument with a stand in consultant in my group once as I happened to mention that I had eaten in a restaurant that advertised itself as being SW friendly with syn values etc. She went off on the 'that isn't allowed' rant before saying 'nowhere round here does it although somewhere is but that's up north so where you ate was wrong' not allowing me to say that actually it was 'up north' and it was indeed the only restaurant (at that time)that had been accredited by Slimming World and was allowed to display syn values etc. In fact my mums SW consultant had worked with the restaurant. Unfortunately the place went bust and closed down- such a shame as the food was gorgeous.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
