A fresh start to the week and a couple more items gone.
3-12 Out of date medicine
13 Packet of hair bobbles
14-25 Books
I'm taking it slowly as I'm terrible at letting go of things in case I might need them one day but I'm going to try and get a few more done today.0 -
Not decluttering in the strict sense but wanted to share this. I've just paid off my 0% interest credit card and a loan early. I took both of those out to retrain as a Coach. I've had the money to pay it off for a few months now but have been nervous about doing it as it reduces my "buffer" (I'm self employed & I like having a healthy buffer so I know I can pay my bills if there's a downturn).
This morning I just thought - "what the heck" (I'd originally planned only to pay off the credit card but I got carried away :rotfl:). I think I got the confidence to do it as I'm going through a busy phase and I've been working really hard (6 days a week) - I want to have something to show for it - and I don't want to buy stuff that I don't need. (Although I did splash out on a nutribullet)
I feel good having paid it and a little wobbly having a reduced "buffer" but I'll work on building that up over the coming months. So that's me with my only debt being my mortgage !!:AShifting my energy for 20200 -
Well done somerandom!
Getting rid of debts is a great feeling. :-)
Have done some more decluttering this morning :
26 a handful of conkers
27-28 used up colouring books
29 broken keyring
30 several years old packet of seeds
31 half-empty bubble mixture
32 some stickers
33 hand puppet
34 another handful of drawings
36-41 books
42 handbag
43-44 kids shoes
45 dress
46 broken necklace
47-49 mugs
50 sponge
51 random gauze gift bag
52 gel 'chicken fillets'
53-54 small bottles of hand sanitiser
55-56 packets of leaf tea in flavours I don't like
57 plant pot
58 set of home made finger puppets
59 salt dough ornament
60 bag of socket covers
61 Big bag of change sorted out - euros extracted for an upcoming trip to Paris and pennies / 5ps / 20ps extracted for my purse. There's too much of it to fit in my purse at the moment but I'm going to annoy people in shops for the next few weeks paying for my small purchases with lots of change to use it up. I reckon I've got a good tenner's worth and I'm not wasting that!
Only scratched the surface so far but It's good to have made a start.0 -
Just sorted out the bomb site- I mean, my mums room! :rotfl:
Hung up a couple of things that needed to be hung and placed them in the wardrobe.
She said yes to quite a few things to go into a charity shop bag
There were some tissues and a dead inhaler down the back of the bed - gone into the bin!
Plenty of receipts and random scraps of paper gone into the bin.
A dead pair of shoes and a broken Winnie the Pooh light up thing in the bin.
Lots of lots of wrist watches in the charity shop bag...
Mum took a pile of clothes she wants to keep downstairs to be washed so that will get put away with some of dads stuff that was washed and dried yesterday.
Stuff for the bin already in the bin, charity shop stuff bagged up and on the hallway outside mums room(will take it down once I post this) just need to hoover the floor now but my brother is still in bed as he works nights so will do it later0 -
3 carrier bags of rubbish from DDs room into bin.
1 carrier bag of rubbish from ds room in bin
2 boxes from Ds room sorted £50 and an important certificate found in there.
6 loads of washing done.
Larder sorted a couple of things chucked and some given to foodbank.
I tin of clothes pegs sorted , broken pegs chucked and tin binned also.0 -
Helped my brother and his girlfriend sort out their 'pit' after we had lunch :rotfl:
Plenty of random stuff into a bin bag for the bin, some stuff into the charity shop bag and other things they wanted to keep mostly consolidated down into 1 suitcase that lives on top of the wardrobe and homes found for other things within the room.
I also put the mats in the bathroom in the wash. There were a couple of shirts and some other white items and i put the mats in with that stuff as they are white also and put it on a white wash
Almost ready to hoover throughout upstairs now0 -
Sorting upstairs done for today :j
Hoovered mums room and brothers room but the hoover was playing up a bit so going to try again tomorrow
I have quite the list of items to post on the fb selling groups now including a desktop computer(with monitor, keyboard and mouse also) that dad doesn't want any more. The sooner we can get rid of that, the sooner dad can place his laptop on the desk and we can start using the table the tower is sat on currently as said table is originally from a nest of tables :rotfl:
Most of the other items for me to list are stacked up on the hallway outside of mine and mums rooms so the sooner that is all gone the better really.
All rubbish bagged up in bin bags and placed outside our front door ready to put across the road for rubbish collection on Thursday morning.
All of the items for the charity shop are bagged up and under the stairs ready to leave the house first thing Friday morning - 4 bag-for-life type bags of stuff to go
Just waiting for my tea now after a day of hard work. Going to declutter some more ice cream from the freezer for afters0 -
Well, I ended up using up all of the rest of the ice cream! It was one of those big cheap as chips tubs of vanilla ice cream so the empty tub went straight in the bin which has freed up quite a large space in the freezer now
No decluttering as such today but I may make some buns later with buttercream icing on top and sprinkles of some sort which will use up some of the home baking bits which have been in the cupboard for a little while0 -
Yay! It's not too cold today so I did some declutting in the garden. A friend kindly pruned my pear tree so I cut up the branches and bagged them for the green waste people to take away. Four bags going on Friday :-)0
