Evening folks
Welcome to all the new peoples and returners this month. I have updated the list of challengers and we now have forty peoples signed up :j
Gosh - what a lovely amount of money-making happening. It's fantastic to see already :T :T
The vinyls sound interesting CBC. I had loads of LPs a few years ago. I left them stored in a friends' garage when I moved and, unfortunately, part of the roof came down in a storm and they all were ruinedGood luck and hope you find a generous buyer for them.
Interest from bank accounts today, so £21.36 added to my month.
Hope you all have a super Thursday

#3 Shop and Scan with Kantar (not Nielsen, they are a different company)
If you are interested in earning vouchers, just for scanning your food shopping, this is the company for you.
Sign up here and wait for them to contact you.
https://www.volunteer4panels.com/
Please note, you will need a PC or laptop to work with these as you need to submit barcodes scanned and this can only be done via these methods, not tablets or iPads.
Kantar Worldpanel is a leading company in the UK running consumer panels. We operate a number of different panels looking at purchasing and usage of many things from Groceries to Fashion.
As a panel member you'll receive regular rewards - usually in the form of points which can be exchanged for high street gift vouchers. You'll also have access to competitions and prize draws as well as other member benefits.
The information provided by our panels is used by manufacturers and retailers to understand how popular, or not, the products they make and sell are. So your help really makes a difference.
What you do is scan your food shopping using a handheld barcode scanner. Then upload that information once or more a week to the website. You can also upload receipts to them.
You earn 1100 points weekly for uploading barcodes. It doesn't matter how many you upload, the payment is the same.
When you reach 10000 points you can cash out for a £10 reward voucher.

carbootcrazy - vinyl is selling for silly money right now. a friend of mine was buying vinyl for her son and his girlfriend at christmas. I was shocked at how much she was paying for it!
considering the days we bought vinyl for 99p and £3.49! they are paying upto £100 for vinyl!
good luck with your search - maybe worth talking to auction houses and I hope your vinyl sells for a song (pun intended)0 -

Thanks, Aesop:T
OH knows someone who subscribes to a record collector magazine and has asked to borrow a few back copies so I can have a look:j.
Thanks too for the Kantar link:T. Looks good, I might have a go at that seeing as I only use a laptop and depend on that method for the majority of my moneymaking0 -

Just come on here to let off steam really. Sorry, I know that's not what you're here for but I just feel very unsettled and wondered if anyone knows anything about a Government 'free' cavity wall house insulation scheme. Martin has quite a lot on it but I'm still none the wiser after reading it just now. According to the individual energy suppliers websites that he links to we don't fulfil the criteria.
I was in the house on my own, all lights off as I was dozing in the recliner after a terrible night (not feeling too well and with raging neuralgia to boot). OH was out and it was almost dusk when I heard this loud banging on the door. I woke with a start and a bit disorientated opened the door a crack (not wanting to let the precious warm air escape). The man (with a clipboard) said 'I'm from the Government' (no mention of what department or anything) and waggled some sort of 'badge' that he had on a cord round his neck. I didn't want to invite him in and it was too dark to see much. I'm a bit suspicious and felt his intro of 'I'm from the Government' was a bit intimidating somehow.
He said we qualified for free insulation, a new offer from the Government. I get phone calls about this 'scheme' several times a day, usually a recorded message that asks us to press a number to speak to an advisor, although I never do. I did once actually speak to one of the callers (who promised to take us off their database but never has) who told me that we are not eligible because we are not on any benefits even though we are on pensions. Also, we don't have cavity walls, this old house is single wall thickness so there's no cavity to fill anyway. We've already got the max loft insulation.
I assume this is the same 'offer' as the phone ones but I couldn't be bothered to talk to the guy and said we're not interested. I felt very vulnerable actually, couldn't wait to shut the door:o
OH has since come home and has gone ballistic because it might have been a genuine offer that I refused:eek:. He's still ranting now, doing his Mr Angry act.
Sorry, I just feel really fed up:o0 -
£5 amazon voucher from i-say. Current amazon balance is £19.09. My "not buying anything unnecessary" goal is going well so far. All I've bought this week is bananas and tinned soup for lunch at work. It's difficult to find food that will last several hours without a fridge that are tasty. It's even harder on days I don't get back to the office to use the microwave and have to eat in the car. I'm really not a fan of sandwiches (and especially not ones that have been sitting out for ages).
Still haven't put anything on ebay and I know that's where I'll make most of my money.Money made on etsy in April: £0

Carbootcrazy, for what it's worth I'd have done the same as you. When we had our cavity wall insulation, the Government wasn't how the company doing it introduced themselves! I think it may have been done via Swalec but it was a good few years ago now....if they were genuine, surely they could leave literature with contact details so you could read it for yourself. As a female on my own at night I'd be wary about who I was letting in too!0

CBC I would have been v suspicious too. And if it IS a genuine governnent offer you would be able to get it even if you did turn down the man on the doorstep. Tell your OH he can jolly well phone up for it if he wants to arrange it! Plus er how do you get cavity insulation without a cavity wall???!0
