    #2 Prolific Academic

One of my favourite survey sites, although I don't do enough of the surveys at the moment.

    What is Prolific Academic?

It is a site created to help University academics complete their thesis/degrees etc by finding them people willing to complete their questionnaires for payment.

Most questionnaires are short and pay well. Some of the questionnaires are interesting and definitely give you food for thought. Some are just plain weird! But hey if you are getting paid for it....

Cash out at £20 paypal for no paypal fees.

Cash out at £5 and over for paypal fees.

You don't always get notified of new surveys, they sometimes email you, but if you are near a pc/smartphone with free time, worth checking throughout the day.

    Some more information on it.

Everyone's doing so well with their moneymaking:T. Well done:beer:

Sadly, this month has started off as profitably as the last one ended..... rubbish:eek:. I am trying, honest;)

I was excited to see a piece on the TV news last night about the resurgence of interest in old vinyl records. They showed a couple of the original Beatles LPs which were going for £250 and about £900 respectively. I have both of these, in fact I have all the Beatles LPs on vinyl. They were passed on to me by a relative donkey's years ago when they lost interest in them. They look in pristine condition (the White Album has definitely never even been played) although I don't have a turntable these days to try them out on:(. The relative has died so there will be no come-back of wanting the money if I do sell them. Am going to research the potential values and where it might be best to sell them for maximum return. I'm really excited at the prospect of actually having something saleable for a decent price:j. Mustn't fall into my usual trap of getting too carried away though:o.
  • Wow CBC......that sounds really exciting and will follow with interest!

My mam and dad have got lots of beatle albums but unfortunately not in the best condition as they have been played to death.

Good luck CBC! A guy I worked with used to make a lot going to carboots buying vinyl then selling it on, he'd been doing it years and knew what things would sell for.

Have just signed up to prolific using your referral Aesop - sounds really interesting, I like doing surveys.

I've claimed £14.31 that was owed to me from an online account and done a 20p Prolific survey. I only need £2 more to be able to cash out £20 from Prolific but I've not had any decent surveys for weeks, has it just gone quiet because of holiday time?

Yes, same here, just shy of a £20 payout on Prolific too. It was quiet over the holiday but there were a few really short low-payers on there. It should be picking up speed again soon though:j. Good Luck:beer:

I wouldn't normally claim points when I earn them (just when I spend them) but I AM claiming £3.46 in Waterstones points as they were all on receipts from purchases before Christmas when my app wouldn't scan properly. So I went in today and got them all added to my card. I only had 30 days to do it so I'm chuffed I remembered.

Another 25% off eBay turned up in my account today folks. The last one only ended Monday night, so worth a check if you haven't already and though you had run out of time to list.

Good luck CBC with your vinyls.

Yep, I got a mix of BIN and auction in on the last offer, Talia1. A few were relists. About 18 items in total, but still sooooo much to do following the Xmas clear out. I try to do about 3-4 per evening once the kids have gone to bed. Any more than that in one sitting and I get coma-brain to be honest!!

Worth it though. Have shifted another item for £6.39 after fees. Also cashed in my Topcashback to replace Christmas spends, which amounted to £115.27 in vouchers as our house insurance cashback FINALLY cleared.

So, I'm at £185.58. Not a typical month (thanks to the big ticket items I had to sell), but I'm certainly going to enjoy the income flow while its there! :)
