So today my hedges out the front are coming down - I have a 7ft tall leylandii hedge along one side of my front garden, they can't take the roots out as there are gas and water pipes there and it will cost stupid money, so they are cutting them down to the base. It should let in a bit more light and will make it much easier to get the car on and off the drive.
Other than that I will be mainly pottering indoors, doing housework and surveys, ds wants to go out later.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

We've been out and about as the hedge man never turned up
I've bought a new washing up bowl (£2.20), 2 dustsheets (£3.60) and a bottle of Stella Artois (free through clicksnap). I odn't even drink beer but we're going to a weekend camping birthday party at the end of the month and I'm trying to stockpile stuff to take with us, so that will go into the box
Ds has helped me build one set of me new bedside drawers, we've dismantled another bigger set of drawers from my room and put them in the garage. We've also packed away everything from my room that was out and moved the remaining furniture into the middle of the room so that I can begin decorating it this weekend. I don't think it will actually take very long at all, it's white walls already, it just needs freshening up really and the woodwork needs some work doing. I've taken down the curtains and will clean them, hopefully it will be enough to spruce the room up.
We've found a couple of shops locally looking for saturday staff - ds is going to enquire as he has started looking into the costs of driving lessons / cars / insurance and wants to increase his savingMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Morning all, ds paper-round is done, I've put one load of washing on, the dishwasher has been emptied and stuff on top of it put back into it, I've swept and mopped the hall, downstairs loo, kitchen and conservatory floors. The downstairs rooms are all tidy, all the rubbish has gone out and I'm about to have a cup of tea
Last night I went to B&Q and bought the paint etc that I need for my room (plain white), and the paint for the dining chairs. Todays agenda includes a guy coming round to quote for the hedge (9-9:30), decorating my room, ds calling the bakery about a job and me clearing the washing pile. Ds wants to go to the fair again later, it moves on after today so it will be the last time this year.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

And yesterdays hedge man has arrived, he says he arranged today with Mum, she is deaf so could be a genuine error. Anyway, the hedge is almost gone already :eek:Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

We got rid of some leylandi that grew near our house - they were about 15ft tall, the amount of light that we got was amazing and our next door neighbour (different side to trees) said that they now had more light as well.
So win, win for everyone.
Our neighbours on the side with the trees have leylandi in their garden which is now about 20ft tall, it shadows our garden and nothing grows in the shade of them.
Our gardener would trim them down as they didn't want to pay but they wont let us take them down completely:mad:.0
