Morning all. Hope you're all ok today. Hugs to Ionafan (and your DH) and anyone else who needs them. Including me today.
So my plans last night didn't entirely work out. I stumbled into a pot hole on the way to DDs house from the takeaway and have badly hurt my ankle so I'll be out of action now for a few days. So painful and so frustrating. I managed to hold on to the food though.
I won't be able to do my charity stint today, no dog walks and nothing at all really as I just need to rest it. Want to avoid hospital on NY eve.
At least I'll have a chance to catch up with all the telly I've recorded over the last week.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Ouch! Jazee. Have you got a bag of frozen peas or sweetcorn that you can use as a mouldable ice pack? (Wrap the bag in a teatowel first!)
Piggers, that's a lovely photo. Hope Twinkle's teeth come through very soon and she is quickly back to her happy self. Will be thinking of you all as she goes for her cardiac investigations x
I must get moving - pharmacy opens in 30 min.0 -
Welcome back pigpen You have been missed. I feel your pain with the outlaws.
Big organise today. Parents arrive mid afternoon for Hogmanay. Then outlaws for lunch tomorrow. It will be chaos. Light sabers are banned from the house so I predict much screaming and wailing. Tough titties.
Ionafan Glad the NHS came through for you. I hope you and DH can have a peaceful day.
Have a great Hogmanay everyone, and may 2017 be happy, worry free and pain free.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Iona, yes ice pack on. DH has just made me a cup of tea, rare occurrence here, and I have the laptop actually on my lap. Bored already.Spend less now, work less later.0

Morning all
Ha ha FBO, tough titties made me giggle!
Still recovering from 1kea on Thursday. It took all day. But the girls' new bedroom is now fully kitted out with lots of lovely storage. Well it will be when we've finished assembling it.
I was at the paid stuff yesterday, but when I got home I hoovered all the downstairs rooms and stairs, swished the bathroom, Dw and Wm.
Today's plan:
Clean the windows inside and out downstairs.
Daily stuff.
Flat pack fun! Two wardrobes to make.
Then transfer clothes to them (with lots of flinging in the process).
Also need to walk dog
Find something to wear to the party tonight that doesn't make me look like I've been eating and drinking non stop for a month. May involve shopping.
Ah well, that's more than enough.
Jazee take it easy, keep the weight off it.
iona healing vibes for your OH.
Another lovely photo Piggers, great to see you posting x
Right I'm off to fly!!!0 -
Ouch Jazee, I managed to sprain my ankle falling off my driveway last week so I feel your pain!! Ice for 15 mins every 1-2 hours and gentle ankle movement whilst elevated for the day, plus ibuprofen if needed.
I need to write a shopping list today so I can send DH shopping (it's my least favourite job, I never go if I can help it!) Also need to get the guest bed stripped, washed and remade before my best friend comes over later. Plus another load of washing on top of that would be helpful. Busy day as always.
Happy New Year's Eve everyone!0 -
Echoes of pain-free and get well wishes for Jazee and Mr Iona
We had a lovely non-flying day yesterday in London; went to a concert, wandered round admiring lights and not buying anything in sales, ending with a yummy chicken salad in a Sicilian restaurant and came home to watch Harry Potter (big kids, us?).
Today needs to be more energetic:
Do pay claim
send New Year e cards and a birthday card
do flower arrangements as friends round for dinner tomorrow
ditto food shop; plan already done
fly round lounge/diner
pay tax
Need to prioritise those really. I don't do New Year, find it really depressing, so it will be bed before midnight but happy to have the New Year's Day dinner tomorrow after church.
Mr N is helping his mum declutter then we're all going to the sales to look at carpet and a new cooker for her. She goes to officially view the new flat on Friday, then sign paperwork next week. They are giving her a bit of crossover time so she can get carpets and main appliances sorted before she actually has to leave her old flat. So Jan is looking busy.
And I haven't mentioned the 6 reports I have to finish writing.
Happy celebrations everyone _party_Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Ouch Jazee xxx
FBO I feel your pain. My mother has announced a visit  cue much hiding of kids new toys, dragging out of old box of duplo and lifting all knives and scissors out of the kitchen drawer.
They are due imminently so if I stop abruptly you know why!
Not looking forward to this. Apparently they'd love to see the piggies :eek::eek: careful monitoring shall be done and little furries locked away if there is any monkey business. We've suggested they pop by for half an hour then we all go out to a play gym. Will be hell on earth but better than hell in my conservatory :rotfl:
Inlaws coming later. For a shower I think :rotfl: their bathroom isn't finished yet... I think they are staying over, though. Defrosting some prawns for supper.
Getting my washing done today too, so I don't need to do any tomorrow
Ooo we popped up to town for passport photos (how much?? ££) so will start form filling tomorrow and arrange to see my teacher friend who can sign the pics for us. Full steam ahead holidays! Lord know where, though!Bossymoo

Spotted a bedside cabinet on fb for a bargain price last night so messaged seller to say was definitely interested, and would buy based on pics. First buyer thought there was a pair (?) so didn't buy so my private message got me the cabinet. Just what I need for DS's room. Giving it a thorough clean before installing and reassembling.
Also got joint for tom. Ys to 99p wooty wooty woot wootDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
