Yesterdays plan of spending half hour on the understairs cupboard of doom was a big fail
By the time I had taken the stuff out that should be stored in there to get to start clearing the clutter I only had a short amount of time before I had to put everything back again! I have learnt that this is a job that needs to be done all at once, with lots of space available to arrange things in areas to store before putting back in some kind of order (along with clearing the clutter). I have shut the dour again
at least it doesn't look messy on the outside as is hidden away. Will return to it once I have a whole day free.
Todays tasks
Kitchen cupboard 2, part 2
For today I pick clearing the dinning table and 15mins run round with a bin bag picking up rubbish/junk.
I do have an issue my bin is fullwith the bank holidays it hasn't been collected and I am now storing rubbish in the house
bit concerned as when its emptied I must have half a bin full to put straight in so I will be in this situation again next time (its collected every two weeks)
I am going to be following the 'original' flyladys monthly challenges. January is shine your sink so will start that tomorrow.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend whatever you are doing and next year brings what everyone wishes for.0 -
(((Hugs))) Valli.
I hope the meds thing settles down, LW. I have broken so many toes and bones in my feet whacking them over the years that I can feel them jumbling about in new shoes when I try them on. I need slippers just to take the edge off all the whacks. Besides which both OH and I spend quite a bit of time sitting at our desks, and our feet get cold if we go barefoot!
Another load run through the WM and various things run through the TD, although most of it is on the line to dangle overnight. Lodgers' rooms changed, OH dropped off at the station for his annual new year trip to London so I can concentrate on doing some research I need to do urgently. Excellent.Better is good enough.0 -

Piggers lovely to see you all, errr dare I ask but that isn't another baby is it? You all look lovely and happy... Miss you on here honey...
HoneyBear I wonder if your pipe is like mine was a few months ago. There was hardly any water draining at one time, although it did eventually go. I ended up taking all the pipework off under the sink and at the back.. I then got a broom handle and shoved it up the pipes that were off, a huge load of ick came out exactly shaped like the pipes with a tiny hole in it to allow the water. It was was gross but it was a build up of gunk over the years.. It worked though. I wonder if that is what is wrong with yours.

Hi everyone, hope everyone has had a good week. I haven't made it on here since last Friday so haven't been following lists. On Wednesday I had a big clearout of one of the living rooms and the understairs cupboard, got rid of lots of clutter which is good! A bag or two waiting to go the charity shop but that's all. Everywhere is mostly tidy, although I should probably clean the bathrooms tomorrow.
Upstairs is a mass of dust as OH has knocked a wall down and built a new stud wall in the last couple of weeks so will be hovering some of that up before friends come round tomorrow!0 -
Been out with friends this morning for a walk on part of the Monsal Trail then lunch. Will be getting more walks in in 2017, I hope.
Came home, had a napped then caught up with the ironing.
Been to morries for a top up voucher and bought another bottle of cheap champagne, DD is 21 in January.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Bossy I did the whole Kon-Marie thing a year ago and it has made a huge difference BUT I dont get the idea of just doing it once and then you are done. For me it's always going to be an ongoing process. Now my boys are teenagers it makes it sooo much easier too, they just have far less stuff!
Been to gym class and then stuffed my face with a large portion of raspberry pavlova. I will be glad when this food is all eaten up!
Have dusted and hoovered upstairs and changed DS1s bed. Some washing over airer and some in TD, there was a lot. Early night I think, we are out tomorrow night.0 -
Thought I hadn't done much today until I start listing it
Flew round bathroom
5 mile walk
Supermarket shopping
cleaned out 2 kitchen drawers and another cupboard
did DD's ironing
had DGS all afternoon (he is staying tonight)
Tomorrow's plan is to strip bed when I get up and wash, dry and back on bed before new year. Is it everyone or just a scottish thing that washing, ironing, tidying etc must be done by midnight?:rotfl:0 -
Evening all.
Started with a s/s of bathroom and cloakroom then prepped food for 11 visiting for lunch. Unfortunately 11 turned into 6 last minute so not too impressed. Lovely to see those who did show and they stayed until 730 which was a surprise by which time DH and his cousin were plastered. He is comatose on the sofa and been snoring so loudly you can't hear the tv. Clearing up has been done and fridge jenga played and I think we will be eating the rest of the food for at least a week. I'm chilling now watching love actually that DD put on before disappearing upstairs.
Well done to those of you who have been out and about, I really need the motivation to exercise more to shift the increasing weight gains. Not that I believe in New year's resolutions but perhaps you can all kick my butt to exercise (walk) more.
Love, hugs and spoons to all

Not since the one in June.. She's really poorly at the moment with teeth and a nasty cold.. but she will mend.. She has a minor (we are hoping.. waiting on scans) heart problem, an imperforate hymen and her hip scan is in 3 weeks.. but she is growing albeit slowly and just too cute.
I miss being here.. I miss everyone being on my fb.. I removed everyone, friends, school mates, college friends, online friends... all bar a few.. to find out who was passing info to CF.. turns out it was my sister and her husband.. they are now removed from my life entirely!.. who needs enemies with family like that!?

This morning went completely to pot because DH did not feel well when he woke up. I didn't think he needed an ambulance and managed to chivvy him along until 8.00, at which point he rang for a GP appointment. He saw the Dr promptly at 9.20; she prescribed another course of stronger ABs and a chest x-ray. I rang the x-ray booking line and we were offered 10.55 at the furthest of our three local hospitals (the other 2 were fully booked until 4th and 11th January ) so we went straight there from the GP surgery, arriving at 10.05. DH was dealt with immediately - hardly time to sit down in the waiting area! - and we were home by 10.50.
The GP rang us at 6.30 this evening (at the end of her long working day) to tell DH that he now has fluid on both lungs, so tomorrow I have to pick up yet another prescription for him from our local pharmacy. Hopefully this will keep him out of hospital. All I can say is "Well done and a big thank you" to the NHS, especially the GP and x-ray department - we couldn't have got any better service even if we had been private patients.
With the morning having gone to pot and me being stressed out again, I cooked soup for lunch and then fell asleep for 2 hours. I've been out to do the shopping this evening so that we have enough food for 14 of us on New Year's Day - all my children and grandchildren are coming here, with DD and her family staying for 2 nights :j
Tomorrow I must
- pick up DH's prescription and buy milk
- bake a coffee cake
- make up beds for DGS1+2
- do a bit of dusting and hoovering
- prepare veg for Sunday lunch
Best wishes to everyone for the new year: may you all enjoy peace, true friendship and the knowledge that someone loves you. (((Hugs))) all round; please help yourselves to spoons from the drawer if you need them, and there are loads of sticks along our lane to distract any BDs. See you in 2017!0
