Thank you Natty for last week's thread :D:D:D Thank you all for your support :cool:
Last week's

It is your responsibility to read the forum rules, please follow them on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us.

Welcome to the Weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
WM ~ Washing machine
TD ~ Tumble dryer
SC ~ Slowcooker
BM ~ Breadmaker
DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up! All credit to AnW's Mum for this one
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

Friday - final flight of the year

Well here we are, the last flying day of the year. I've had a rotten year so will be glad to see the back of it. We lost our lovely Cycling Yorkie too, and I know she is often in our thoughts, as are her lovely family.

So pick and choose what needs to be done to ready your home for the new year.

Do your dailies.

Make sure to find time to use some of those Christmas smellies - use the most expensive or luxurious first! You deserve it!

Thank you to my co-conspirator Natty for running the thread.

And thank you all for your support.

I'm in please Valli. Thanks for last week's thread Natty :)

Place looks like a war zone. Water pipes have frozen in the caravan. It is -6° here!

    Warm hugs on offer xxx

Oh wow Dizzy cold here but not that cold! Not sure what the plan is today, not got out of bed yet. We did talk about going to the coast but don't want to spend too much.

I did a bit of washing and ironing yesterday but the house is not too bad, except for the kitchen gibble.

    Hi Valli

Please count me in for this week.

DH and DSS have gone out to play golf and left me home alone. Is it sad that I am looking forward to tidying up

I also have a mound of washing and ironing to do so will make a start on that.

    All the best

I am in, thanks for the lists Natty and Valli x

The place looks like a tornado has been through it. Dinosaurs, toy cars, jigsaws and yet more blinkin' Shopkins are everywhere I look.

I have, however, already given the kitchen a thorough clean through this morning and stuck a gammon in the slow cooker so at least part of the house looks and smells good!

Need to go to grandma's new house this morning to set up her TV, WM, DW etc (well, DH will whilst I drink tea!) Then a long walk, home for a film and a well deserved rest as DH back to work tomorrow.

    Have great days all xx

No, not sad, just Flyladyish I think. I'm the same now, after years of living in a shambolic muddle I almost 'save' a rewarding tidying job for when I have time on my own. Despite whinging constantly about the Room-of-Doom state of my office there are occasions when I look forward to having an hour or three in there to straighten it out because I know that underneath all of that chaos there is, actually, rather a lot of order - created entirely by being a Flylady. This year, now that the lodgers' fridge is gone and OH has put a second set of deep shelves up in its place I feel the same about the cupboard under the front steps, too. In fact, thinking about it, the kitchen is joining that list because of the two new cabinets I built (*pride*) and the attic is coming on. It's taken me years, whereas other Flyladies probably cracked it in a matter of weeks or even months, but it is a good feeling knowing that there is order under the Christmas gibble now even if it looks untidy to other people.

Despite saying I was doing nothing yesterday I put a load through the WM and pegged it out because the forecast here is coldish (nothing like -6 though) but dry. I need to go back to watering the tree down the road, poor little thing.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning ladies,

Hope you have all had a fabulous time, with big hugs for those missing special people this time.

Thank you to Natty and Valli (and any former writers) for the lists and without who the thread wouldn't currently exist.

Been fairly quiet here over the last 2 days with just the three of us, but now planning for a buffet for 11 on Friday so need to ensure everything is up to scratch for DH's family. He only has 1 aunty and 3 cousins left and she is in her 80's so we have to get together when we can.

It's cold here but not too bad, having not put my nose out the door yet, but I am envious of those with snow as not back to the paid stuff for another week yet and could make the most of it, not that my kids are little any more!

Need to start thinking about next assignment as well which I haven't looked at yet and due in on 10th.

Guess I should go shower and get dressed :o and then crack on.

    TTFN
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Hi All

hopeing its ok to join you?

Really need to get house sorted next year so this seems like a good place to start. I will concentrate on level 1s only for now as a lot of these will need work doing before I can start on them. today I need to clear and tidy said tables/worktops before I can wipe them :o

Not at work today so promised I would take DS on a long walk to hatch some pokemon eggs, just waiting for the weather to warm up, there is still frost on the cars here

Looking forward to getting to 'know' you all
