I need to make more time for myself too - and not feel guilty about it. I also need to make DH and the boys do more for themselves and somehow get them to understand that the housework is not my job. This will not be easy for me.

Yorkie, I could've written this! I'll be spurring you on this year, my lovely xxx

My dog seems fine now - ate his brekkie with gusto and nicked a bowl of cat biscuits, so no lasting damage, it seems :o

A belated but, heartfelt thank you for my Secret Santa pressie too! Im using my planner (complete with colour coded pen(wo)manship) to work out meals for the next week. Does anyone else have a bit of a stationery fetish?

Jazee - rest that ankle! Listen to nurse Dizzy and let it recover.
Hugs aplenty for the new year - sending a big one your way Valli x

Fireworks here went on for far too long here and both Kelpie and Devil Cat were unhappy about them, but not to the point of needing to hide which is progress.

A massive thank you to all Flyladies who posted last year, especially Dusty, Natty, Valli, Pigpen and Bossy for the lists. You will never know how much of a difference the Flylady thread has made to me, but it still feels like a miracle to me to have some kind of order and control in my life.

*Healing vibes* for Jazee, Mr Ionafan and Dizzy's Dog even though it sounds as though he doesn't need them.

And a (((hug))) for Valli, because it's a tough time, but this will pass.

It's raining, so I can't wash the sofa covers which means I can't photograph it which means I can't put it on gumtwig which means the neighbours are going to have to step around their old sofa while they decorate. I should think they're cursing me and I wouldn't blame them. The covers are tight enough on the cushions without shrinkage so I can't risk having to tumble them.

I might dust today, just to get the new year off to a good start.
    Better is good enough.

Nurse Dizzy, I am doing as I'm told. Feet up for rest of today.

I have washed the bedding though, am not going to give in to daft superstitions about washing people out or whatever, though I appreciate everyone has to do what they feel comfortable with.

I love stationery. Also bought myself a proper little diary instead of putting dates in my phone as it just feels right.

Happy New Year everyone! Hope 2017 is fab for us all :D

I echo Honey Bear's words about how much of a difference this thread has made to me - thank you one and all xx

And like Dizzy, I will try to post more often, make more time for myself and become more organised, and lose some weight.

I would also like to sort some flylady meets this year - it's been too long - so watch this space!

Going shopping with Mum now and then later on I'm going to Dad's for an afternoon tea of Christmas pudding and ice cream! We couldn't manage it after our dinner last week so have saved it for today!

    Have a lovely day xx

I've seen reference to this a few times in the last couple of days.
What exactly is the superstition please?

Morning everyone and Happy New Year. I don't know the superstition about washing laundry on new years day plus don't believe in them and have a load of towels in anyhow!

Thanks for your support during 2016 - I know I've been very on and off but am really going to try to get more sorted during 2017. Also thanks to the lovely ladies who do the lists for us; I may not always do all of them but it gets me motivated to sort out my squallor!!

Poor Whiz was very upset by fireworks last night; I had to come down and cuddle him on the sofa - he was shaking, whining, panting and very restless. I put on some music on Youtube which is meant to be relaxing for dogs when fireworks are around and he did settle eventually so went back up to bed at 12.45.

I don't really do new years resolutions BUT like others I want to take time for myself plus a big one for me is to learn to love myself - at times I don't even like myself and I've done some stupid stuff in the past but that was then and this was now so onwards and upwards.

Have a great day everyone and I'm sending cyber hugs and xx to all!

Speaking of diaries, one of my ex-employers has sent me one which I won't need to use. If anyone wants a 2017 diary it's going begging - PM me if you're interested.

    Happy new year everyone.

I am not calling it a resolution as that will set me up for a fail but 2017 is going to be my year, this time next year I WILL have a clutter free/clean house (then it will become a home :)), slowly but surely I WILL get there I plan for it to take most of the year.

I am grateful for those that put up the lists, when you are feeling that overwhelmed that you don't know where to start to have someone tell you what to do is more help than you may realise. Even though most of the levels are unachievable for me at present, just someone to say what room to work on is a help.

I hope 2017 brings everyone what they wish for.

If you're on Facebook you'll have seen that 2017 has got off to a fantastic start - not.

    Aaaargh

Iammumtoone - thanks for that comment. When I'm on list duty I try to zing them up a bit and I know Natty does too, but I do sometimes wonder if they are any help, so knowing that it does help is nice. I know that sometimes one can feel utterly overwhelmed by it all.
