Determined new ms Congratulations. Enjoy your moment in the sun. You deserve it.
Trudging along here. Work over for the year.
Not overspent on anything except groceries! Still got an issue here.
Day out tomorrow with a friend for lunch as she returns unwanted gifts.
Happy new year all.

Hi December Debt-Free Devotees,
I've actually managed to achieve quite a lot today.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Car broke down. Or rather wouldn't start despite new battery being fitted in October. StartRescue man said it was probably a clogged fuel filter. Got it going again and I'll have to get it to the garage in January.
* Free 7km run this morning.
* Fancied junk food for dinner so cooked our own.
* Cleaned upstairs with Stardrops and washable cloths.
Live long, live well and prosper.

Wow Dawn you wonder how some people get out of bed in the morning don't you! Hope DS is settling in well. And thanks for the kind wishes.
Katie Ann I feel for you. The sleepless nights can be so hard.
Ziggy Glad to hear from you.

Hope you poorly folks are feeling better soon. I feel incredibly grateful that I've actually managed to avoid being poorly this winter so far (fingers crossed  ) Tis indeed rotten feeling poorly at Christmas. Although I was reminded this morning that it's 5 years ago since I had my thyroid removed between Christmas and new year  That was a very quiet festive season :rotfl: (except the bit in hospital - never been anywhere so noisy!)
Lovely and sunny here :j Small money-saving things for today for me include...
* already reached SB daily goal
* will go for a run - free exerciseand collect parcel on the way home, saving a special trip
* bake biscuits for friend's birthday
* cycling into town to collect parcel (new bike light - paid for with voucher for complaining - to facilitate cycling home from work)
* meet friend for a cuppa (er, slightly better than meeting her for lunch I suppose...:rotfl: )
* check banks
* empty pile of Christmas-related receipts from purse
* FIND NAIL SCISSORS - I'm on the verge of buying new ones as I HATE long nails and I know we have at least 3 pairs but I can't find any of them!
Hope you all have a jolly day
Bless you, that sounds major! Hospital isn't nice is it." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Well done, DNMS and good to see you around, Ziggy
I popped into Mr T for tea bags and cat food while DS and DSGF were in the pet store and came out with just that, that has to be a first!
DH had a very busy day at work today and brought me home flowers and Chinese to say thank you for doing the food for all his mates last night so the meatballs can wait for another day. I did bag up all the unused lemon I'd chopped and it's all now in the freezer waiting to be used in drinks.
It's bloomin' freezing here (4degrees) and we're in the south so it must be far worse for those of you up north. We're watching TV in bed already trying to keep warm.

Bizarrely, we just walked home from a friend's house and it seemed much warmer than when we walked down there a few hours ago! Wouldnt want to be out in shorts mind
Luckylady, that sounds like a lovely restful eveningI love this time of year too.
Allydowd, pah to your carmost vexing. Hope it turns out to be an easy fix...
Bobarella, the main thing I remember about hospital was how noisy it was! the nurses managed to set off a dancing santa at 3am the night I was in  fortunately I was only in there one night. Also got most annoyed with the cafe who wouldn't give me a cuppa "in case you haven't had your operation yet" - I had *literally* had my throat slit and had a shiny bead at either end of my scar holding the stitches in!! :rotfl: Other than that it was uneventful amd I feel much better now - and I also get free prescriptions for life because of it:money:
Not as money saving as I thought tonight - went to a friend's for a curry but it turned out they meant we'd all order a takeaway... Didn't spend anything the rest of the day though.
Gearing up for joining in the FrugalWoods blog Uber Frugal January soon! :money:
Sleep well all x0 -
Morning all :hello: today will be about getting the house straight before a busy couple of days and then back to routine of school/work.
Ally hope the car issue is not to costly
Ziggy lovely to *see* you, sorry times are hard, sendinging hugs
So today:
Take gifted leg of lamb out of freezer to cook for visitors tomorrow
Make cake for tomorrow, may also make a crumble
Take tree down and pack rest of decorations away
Put curtains up, double check measurements first as I won't be able to return them once they've been pulled
Put some sale items I bought that need to be returned in my car out if the way
Cook some food for tonight (when I say cook, I mean DH to make sausage rolls and me put other things from fridge on the side and maybe a jacket potato or two in the oven :rotfl:), friends coming round. Need to think of a dessert - may make muffins as have left over Christmas cheese anywaymainly using leftovers so a cheap evening for us and our friends
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas Eve, whatever you are doing and wishing you all a fabulous 2017
