clf yuk. That probably would have made you ill if you had drunk it.
And foxgloves hope you are on the mend soon.
Terrible news here. My lovely, kindhearted BIL has cancer. Its just too awful to believe and he is far too young to be facing this. He has insisted that we still go to the NY Eve party that we were all going to tonight so we will try and be as cheery as we can.
I will say Happy New Year in advance, enjoy it whatever you are doing tonight x0 -

Hello to you all on this last day of 2016!
Today I will return the cushions to Mr S and we will pick up a couple of nice curries for later. We're staying home but DS and DSGF are going to a party so I won't drink as I'll be on taxi duty rather than them pay for a cab home. We still have lots of booze left over from Christmas so they can take some of that with them.
I'm really looking forward to bringing out my new diary, I'm so sad :rotfl: I only like the Paperchase spiral bound ones with elastic round and treat myself to one most years.
I've still not managed to find any reduced cards for next year but I'm thinking I may have more luck when I'm back at work as the sale goers in central London will have been more interested in the big ticket items.
I still need to finish the illustration for the Facebook header for the new business page, just finishing touches and I need it done and then to start posting stuff before it goes live (I remember being advised to do this with a work blog so it doesn't look too bare.) I'm feeling a little disheartened as the folk over on the business board seem to think it is doomed to fail but I will still give it a try as I know our area and (apart from in our house :rotfl:) people aren't short of money and I still think it may have legs.
Everything is all a bit up in the air at the moment as I've been told there may be more work for me where I am now but I'm it sure for how long, before my maternity leave cover contract started I'd already been there for 5 months on a kind of rolling booking but they only get permission for each month a couple of weeks ahead.
Anyhow, have a lovely evening everyone!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

Aw Yorkshire lass, sorry to hear your news, hope things go as well as they can xx
Hope you feel better soon foxglove

Not much to report today.
*got up to sw@gbucks daily total - up to 500+ points again now
* did tv licence online to avoid fine (it's due tomorrow and I forgot)
* packed picnic for our drive to friend's house - tea, hot chocolate, popcorn done in the microwave (one bag sweet, pne bag cheesey), satsumas and a bit of leftover Christmas choc - drive is only 2.5 hours :rotfl:
* Mr Cheery wishes it to be noted that he went TWICE to look at a bit of furniture in a charity shopbut didn't buy it cos it wasn't quite right :rotfl:
* staying with friends over new year so no accommodation costs, and they live in a gorgeous place so its like a proper holidaywe've brought some of our reduced haul of veg and we all plan on eating nowt but wholesome soup :rotfl: (although we have sneakily brought the remainder of our Christmas chocs as I suspect our soup resolution won't last the evening :rotfl: )
* uber frugal January starts tomorrow - we're all prepared! :j
Hope you all have a good evening whatever you're doing and wishing you a happy start to 2017 :j0 -
Afternoon all,
Yorkshirelass, so sorry to hear your news.
We've been out to collect kiddo's new glasses, he's thrilled with them , I wonder how long before the novelty wears off!
We parked out of town and walked in to avoid parking charges.
We popped into a shop that sells the squared paper note pads that I use for the kids calendar/jobs/checklist. They were half price @ £1 so I bought 2 as they are perfect for this use.
Called into a charity shop, dh got a book he had had on his amaz0n wishlist for ages which was selling for £12.99 and we got it this morning for 99p. Also a pair of John Rocha jeans for ds1 for £3.99 which is great as he's recently had a grow
Called into co0p for my usual ys hunt, picked up a few ys loaves of bread, onions, some bacon popcorn (sounds awful but kids say its nice!) and some gooey middle chocolate desserts (hmmm my thinking about stopping buying these things to help purse/waistline didn't kick in yet!!)
Rang my dad to see if he wanted to split the bag of onions, he did and he offered to cook us some lunch - yay so he did us a quick chicken curry & rice. We also came away with some ys gingerbread swirls he had bought on his trip to co0p and some ys plums that he'd stewed in ginger for us
Ds1 had seen an annual he wanted to buy that was half price in the calendar shop place, down to £3.95, I looked on my amaz0n app and they had it for 99p, so came home ordered that & a star wars annual for 99p so £1.98 in total and selected No Rush on delivery so we will get £1 credit to use again
Home now and hubby/kids are watching [STRIKE]Top Gear[/STRIKE]I mean Grand Tour and I'm catching up on here with a :coffee:
Tonights meals will be from stores, either crackers/cheeses nibbles etc or jacket potato & fridge dive for the toppings.
Tomorrow we have my parents coming over for lunch, this will use up the last of the veggies/stuffing etc from Xmas and we have the 2nd cheesecake we bought ys the other day for dessert.
Not sure that we'll stay up til midnight, depends what film hubby choses I guess
Just want to say that I love this thread & appreciate all the advice & support received over the past year.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Sorry to hear your news Yorkshire lass, hoping for a good outcome (they do happen, both my BiL and SiL had cancer scares last year, but both were caught early, and they are fine

Happy new years eve everyone! YorkshireLass - So sorry to hear your news
Today hubby and I took our little man to a "ceramics caf!" in town and got his foot prints on a plate and OH painted a money box for him, we can pick them up in a fortnight once they have been in the kiln and glazed, it wasn't very MSE but I think these are moments that I will regret should I not do them!
Other than that today I will/have:
- Check bank accounts - Done, a little lower than I would of liked!
- Do a load of washing and tumble dry - In progress
- Tidy bedroom - Done
- Change bedsheets - Can wait until tomorrow or possibly Monday!
- Do a few surveys
- Dinner from the freezer
Hope everyone has a lovely NYE whatever you are doing! OH and I are staying in tonight with our little man, this is the first year in ages I've not been out but I'm looking forward to staying in with my family and not waking up with a hangover in the morning!x
