Hi December Debt-Free Devotees,
Just a quick post....it's been a heck of a DFW year at Dowd Towers: I went into Senior Management, DW had some success with her business, I survived a health scare...and we're all still standing...as for today:
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Free Beef joint today courtesy of RM Surveys vouchers.
* Spent nothing other than £2.79 on a new shower curtain.
Live long, live well and prosper.

Happy New Year everyone
Up fairly early as I was awake, now enjoying second coffee and the peace and quiet
I like New Years Day, it always seems to offer a new start, and face it, 2016 was not great
Today I will:
No heating on downstairs as it is quite mild Wood stove alight now, as it has been pouring with rain all day and felt damp and chillyDog now asleep among the ashes on the hearth just inside the fender (it is not a big space, but he is pocket size). Must remember to sweep up tomorrow as he gets it in his fur :rotfl:
Find new calendar and put it up, put the old one in the recycling Done
Christmas cards in the recycling too! Done
Dust furniture that has been covered in Christmas cards etc Not done
Put decorations away in loft Got as far as the top of the first landing
Tidy dining room and put furniture back where it was before we brought the Christmas tree in Not finished, but much better!
Sort out GD's toys and books (the ones that are kept here), which are everywhere, overflowing out of several boxes in several rooms  The ones that she no longer plays with and are now too young for her can be donated to charity, the broken ones can be thrown away. I have done the ones downstairs, upstairs still to be tackled! A few things binned, and some decent but outgrown jigsaws, books she doesn't like and a few odds and ends in a bag ready to take to the CS
HM meals from stores,I have steak out of the freezer for tonight, will make soup for lunchDone, used up some cooked potatoes and some gravy that were lurking in the fridge in the soup
Check banks Done
Clean washing away to airing cupboard Done
Dig up rest of leeks while the weather is relatively mild, not many left now. Clean them and store in the bottom of the fridge. Not done due to pouring rain
No doubt there will be more, so I will come back later to update
I was poking around in the bottom of the larder just now, looking to top up the tray where I leave soft /children's drinks, and found not one but 6 bottles of wine I didn't know I had :T How on earth did that happen? :rotfl: I am definitely going to sort out the larder and see what else might be lurking in there!0 -
Happy New Year, Frugal Friends.
Well, I'm up & about early but am gutted that this flu doesn't really seem to be going. I've had a big strong coffee & some flu caplets so I'm hoping I'll manage to get my rubber turkey duties done. Very low on energy. Actually had to sit down & have a rest mid-way through putting my tights on this morning!! That's how pathetic things are. Oh well, I'd better make a start. Mr f says he might start his Big New Year Sort Out today.......which sounds as though it's going to involve a fair bit of decluttering.
Have a good day all, new year, new start & all that,

* Watch another new to us film this afternoon with the kids
* Keep veg peelings and freeze ready for another stock when I have some bones
* Make a meal plan after lunch today for the new few days
* Check how hubby will be for holidays days this year to try and maximise time off by adding them to bank hols etc

Morning everyone and happy new year 2017! I've been up early with DS, starting watching TV and thought I may as well get up! Were going to OH's family today for a new year get together, we don't need to bring anything so a free day out essentially! I'm planning a NSD, my first of January and 2017! Other plans for today include:
- Check bank accounts - Ouch, had to buy new feeding bottle for DS last night and even though they were less than half price its left me horribly short until payday which is 23rd Jan!
- Complete a few surveys
- B/D from home and L will be at OH families house
- Quick tidy up - Done
I think that's me for today! Have a lovely New years day all xDebt free once - Back again | Current debt: £2479.50 - January 2025 | Make £2025 in 2025 #11 - £41/£20250 -
Good morning and happy new year.
I am a teacher so back to school in a couple of days. I desperately need to make inroads into my marking!
Also need to make some money for the £10 a day challenge so I'm going to stick a couple of items up on the local facebook group and redeem a swagbucks voucher.
And I promised myself I'd start a new diary on here.
Have a good day all0 -
Hi everyone
Buon anno from Italy!
We had a quiet night in last night - was lovely. Were originally thinking of going into the city but the bus was going to be a bit of a nightmare so didn't bother in the end.
There is lots going on in the city centre today so we'll go for a walk around. Some tourist attractions are free too (but don't know if that will mean v busy/annoying).
Cooking in the apartment - had a big brunch so won't eat out today.
Take care everyone - here's to a happy and healthy 2017. :beer:0
