Have taken a look at Iresa and it is my cheapest option by about £33pa, and the lack of exit fees is a further attraction over Avro-thanks Hengus for the advice.
Why is it that this company does not come up on any comp sites (including the ones that claim to compare all suppliers)? Switch Which? does mention them, but does not then show them in it's search results? How many customers do they have?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

This is now permitted thanks to the CMA. Smaller suppliers are not interested in paying sites referral fees and, presumably, comparison sites do not wish to provide free advertising. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Bye bye E.On, switch to Iresa clicked. They must have known I was leaving, just after I submitted the switch the end of contract e-mail dropped into my inbox0

My advice is, that despite their fancy website, avoid this company. I have just had a 45 minute wait on the telephone to sort out an e-mail request for a gas meter reading on transfer which asked me to roll back the clock to the 27th December 2015. Iresa admit that a number off customers were sent a meter reading request with this erroneous date. They suggested that everything would have been alright had I responded to their request for a monthly meter reading. I pointed out that I wasn't on supply with them on the 30th November.
In my view, they are struggling to cope.
PS. It would seem that their excuse now is that my supply is via an IGT and it isn't an automated process. I acknowledge that industry procedures are at best Third World but IGT transfers are the same for all suppliers. Those that do not have the resources to cope do not offer IGT supply transfersHedge your bets. Switch to Iresa (not on comparison sites) with no exit fees and then you can see whether E.oN comes up trumps. If it is a new customers only deal, then you will qualify. Note: Iresa does nothing during the cooling off period so you need to factor this in to your decision process.
I'm confused. Do you recommend Iresa or not?Mornië utulië0 -
If i setup a switch right now to E.ON's current best tariff (E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v21) for the day my current tariff expires (15th Feb) - as it has no exit fees, presumably i can switch to either a newer (hopefully cheaper) E.ON tariff, or a different company come early Feb without any penalty?
At least then i'm protected from any major rises in January, but still have freedom to move to somewhere else, or (the dream?!) a new collective tariff.0 -

I am still with them, and there are still some ongoing account issues two months on. For example, they have been very slow to set up my gas account - so slow in fact, that my old gas supplier gave up trying to contact them and it just paid me back what I was owed. They are also very difficult to contact. and they have an annoying habit of closing out issues before they are resolved. As I am always on top of my energy accounts, and any credit is now protected, my annoyance is not yet so great as to make me switch to the next cheapest deal which would cost me an extra £85 per year.
Others have commented on the fact that Iresa appears not to follow National Grid guidelines on calculating calorific valves when billing. As I have yet to receive a gas bill, I cannot comment. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Around October 2016, there were some INSANE tariffs, each appearing and disappearing in days.
For my post code.
Gas 1.607p per kWh,
Standing Charge 66.654p
Exit penalty £30.00
Electricity 8.736p
Standing Charge 32.981p
Exit Penalty £30
Did anyone work out if they were real tariffs, or some E.On person went bonkers?
Rather regretting not signing on to it now.
Effectively, it's a combined standing charge of £1 per day, and then the energy you use is so cheap, it's not worth thinking about.0
