Peppa- I took Roo out at 3.40 am would you believe- I am going on fumes now. I had one of those nights when I just couldn't sleep- woke at 2.05 am and couldn't get back off. I did have a tumble at the park though so Ive learnt my lesson and Im not going out until A&E open just in case!! (Ok this time just a few scrages and bruises so no emergency rush lol).
I had to laugh at your falling out- I bet that's exactly the same reaction in homes up and down the land- certainly is in mine! It will all come together in the end don't fret.
Chrissy- what a faff! Could you find something else for her to focus on for example what she will wear? My DN has Asperger's and he has a thing about sound levels so we have to concentrate on the food or seating or something other than the noise level. Im sure you've tried every trick in the book so I dont mean to preach x.
046- Oh dear sorry the move has been scuppered for the time being. Well done on the weight loss- it must be substantial if people have noticed it and commented. You have probably mentioned before but I cant remember where you said you were going.
I have made pink cake pops with gold coloured white chocolate bows for my sisters birthday party tomorrow and the chocolate has spilt and wont set so Im pretty miffed. I have also decided to use some of the bamboo cones I have in stock for DDs birthday party and have shoved one giant strawberry in each and drizzled pink white chocolate over each. They look better than the cake pops so all is not lost. Doesn't bother me as I cant stand white chocolate so its a good way of stopping me munching on them.lovin' this site!

Awww,thanks guys,you really are the best people.xxx
Well I have been to the GP.The main thing is Mr V feels better,he was awake from 2am this morning,His first wife died from cancer, then I had it too so he is a bit sensitive about it.The GP does not think its anything untoward and neither is it a cyst or boil etc.He doesnt know what it is! It is a hard lump which is sore to touch with slightly broken skin.I have some steroid cream and need to go back in 2 weeks. If its better, alls good if not he will refer me on.Phew, feel happier today.
DD2 came home from camping today, she couldnt eat her tea and went to bed at 6pm.She has had a great time.
Nice to hear from you 0462...,Where are you going for your hols?
Did the cheapo shops in town today, didn't see anything for the stockings.
Peppa, same in our house.Stock answer to every question is "whatever you want is ok with me"Only on a couple of things has he shown any view,so I have to go with it if I like it or not.
Murie you certainly know how to do a "do".Sounds lovely.
Night night Vx:0 -
Vulpix- and breathe......(and keep applying the cream)! Sounds as if more camping trips are the order of the day if they tire DD2 out so much.
The strawberries in cones do look pretty- the cake pops not so much. Hopefully they will taste better than they look. I don't think her DH has bought her a birthday cake so they may be her only cake (which upsets me a little cus I believe that cakes are an essential part of birthday celebrations). He is such a dufus though he has probably not given it a thought. However I have to tread carefully as I don't want him to think I am treading on his toes in any way hence me making cake pops rather than a full cake just in case he does get one. They have a BBQ planned so fingers crossed the weather stays OK although thunderstorms are forecast.
I hope everyone has a good weekend x

Wow MURIE, is it even light at 3.40 lol. Glad you weren't hurt by the tumble and at least you didn't have to pretend it hadn't happened as nobody was watching
Ooh those cones and cake pops sound yummy, chuck them this way I love white chocolate. Hope the birthday party goes well and the thunder storms hold off for you.
Nice to see you 0462 though sorry to hear the move is off. Bet the new roof will look splendid though.
VULPIX glad the doc was able to give you good news and you can relax a bit now. Well I've taken the bull by the horns and offered my BIL the big spikey plant in the front garden. It's like a Cordyline but with fatter leaves (sharp pointy ones) and it's quite bushy and red. I'm not really into architectural plants but he loves anything like that so he's coming round to dig it up. My neighbour has leant me three very old gardening books but to be honest the more I read the more confused I get! One is about roses but I'm still trying to understand floribundas and hybrid teas. I usually just look for David Austin
Nothing much planned for today, a bit more sorting out and a bit more weeding if the weather holds. Have a great weekend everyone. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Mornin.
Forgot to say,be careful Murie. My ex next door neighbour fell whilst dog walking on her own in the hills. She had to walk home with a broken wrist.:(
Peppa your neighbour is very kind to lend you books.Keep them a bit then send them back and thank him profusely! If I need to know anything I give it a quick google.I used to have hundreds of books, all gone to the chazzer now I have google. All you need to know is if you like it or not.If you have a problem ask the neighbour,he has read the books!Plants are quite happy to do their best if they are in the right position.Sounds like your BIL is quite knowledgeable,so he will be handy.Look on Pinterest for pics of gardens you like. Before you know it you will have permanently dirty fingernails and a very good weatherbeaten tan.Oh top tip for gardening.Rub a bit of vaseline round your nails before you start then when you wash your hands the dirt is stuck to the vaseline and your hands are almost respectable. Also dont dig,it encourages cats and weeds. When you have it how you like it mulch or just leave it alone.
DD2 going to work shortly,so we are off gadding.

Thank you all for your well wishes, really kind of you and means a lot. The funeral is on the 15th, 10 days before my due date, so provided I am not in labour I’m determined to go! We’re going to leave Wiggle with the in laws and it’ll be a day trip. It reminds me of the last time I was pregnant, DH’s grandad died just before I had Wiggle and his funeral fell on the same day as my close friend’s wedding, so two weeks before I gave birth I was gallivanting across the country attending a funeral in the morning and a wedding in the afternoon! It’s the same this time, although only a funeral to attend and only one county to get to. I think my family and DH would rather I didn’t go but I really, really want to, it means a lot to me.
Happy belated birthday nic2075! _party_ Hope you had a lovely day!
GTQ yes it really helps when they’ve gone peacefully and have had a good life until the end.
Peppa good for you, it’s great to get out and have good life experiences to be open to new opportunities that come along. You've just reminded me that I have Alan Titchmarch's complete guide to being a gardener, I don't think I read past the first two pages and my garden shows it!
vulpix I’m sorry to hear you found a lump and it was worrying you, it’s encouraging that the doctor isn’t too concerned at this time. I do hope the steroid cream works for you and that it is something and nothing.
CHRISSYG your poor DD I’m not surprised she’s worried. We discussed catering ages before our wedding!!
murie I too feel you need cake on a birthday, cake pops sound like a great idea! Hope the bruises clear up quickly and you’re not too sore after your tumble.
04624181 sorry to hear the house move is off, I hope you get everything you need to get done quickly.0 -
Hi All,
The scaffolding is up!! So excited to get this house done. We may move sooner, I just dont want to spend a fortune doing this house up and then move, but we are flexible. I am going to get this house to how I like it and then decide what to do in the new year.
For our holiday we are going to Bude for a week in a log Cabin. Cannot wait. My mum and sister came to visit today, not seen them properly for a few weeks. My mum commented on my weight loss too. Feeling good but still too scared to weigh myself lol.
Murie= Hope you are ok and the tumble wasnt too serious. I love white chocolate! White chocolate fingers are an absolute favourite of mine.
Vulpix- Glad to hear that the GP doesnt think its serious. You both must of been so releaved.
Peppa- Cannot wait for my roof to be finished then its all systems go for DS up into the loft conversion and DD into the back bedroom. Got electrician/joiner coming on monday to price up fitted wardrobes and other bits that need doing. I am not a gardener ( i kill everything) but my dad loves gardening. He learnt everything from google when he bought his new house some years ago.
PK29-glad you decided about the funeral. Hope you and you are family are all ok. Now we have decided to stay and get the work done I want it done like yesterday!! lol
Been in the loft all day clearing out rubbish and things we have no use or space for. Found some christmas bits that I had bought and not put in the christmas bags. need to remember I have thrown my christmas tree. If anybody sees any at good prices please give me a shout xx0 -
Morning,
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I didn't do much. Just the family up woth cake on the bank holiday. I don't really "do" birthdays. I like celebrating other people's with them, but not mine lol.
It's nice to see so many posts to scroll through.
Good to see you posting freespirit. X
Hope you are ok Vulpix? Thinking of you and hope it is nothing serious. X
I am just getting ready to take my youngest to her dress rehearsal for her dance show. Will be a day filled with hairspray and smiles. Takes my mind off all the awful things happening in London and Manchester at the moment :-(. Ive found myself just hugging my kids tighter at every opportunity I get.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
