In christmas news. My Dad is moving house, so has told me to help myself to one of the 3 Christmas trees in his loft. My mum and dad always had a nice big tree up. But once mum passed, my dad puts up a smaller fibre optic one. I'm sure he would rather not bother, but we always do it for him and I'm sure it just adds a little Christmas cheer in his house.
But it means he has 3 beautiful big trees not being used. I have had the same slim black one for 11 years. So am looking forward to putting that one elsewhere in the house and having a big full green one for a change.
    Simple things

Good morning, looks like it is going to be a dry day, what can l wash and hang out to dry? Hate it when there is a good drying day going to waste!
Have been busy in the garden, too. All tubs and baskets done for me and for several neighbours, hanging baskets for friends daughters wedding ready to go, loads of plants left over so l will put them by the gate with a help yourself sign.
Sorted out DS2's car insurance and Nev the shred's as well, will quidco pay out? time will tell.
Three weeks till the nibs arrive from China, getting all excited.
Managed to get DGS2 a bike on Friday, so they will both be mobile. Now l just need to get helmets.
Thanks for the tip about Vaseline, l also scrape my nails down a bar of soap which helps to keep them cleanable, and l do try to wear gloves.
Hugs to everyone, whether you want/need them or not, cos l like hugs.

PK for what it's worth I think you are doing the right thing by going to the funeral.Fingers crossed that you are not in labour though.

0642 How very exciting to be having massive works done on your house.I am sure it will make it more desirable to buyers long term especially if you are making a loft room.

Mrs I you are a busy bee and always doing for other people too. If we lived closer we could swap plants.I have got kiwi seeds to germinate, hundreds of em.I will be able to have a kiwi plantation and make my fortune!I think it's a great idea to get bikes for your little visitors to amuse themselves on.If I ever have grandchildren I would use your idea.If I ever have grandchildren they would live away.DS talking about going to New Zealand next, they are not even back from Canada yet.

Need to pull my finger out and cut the hedge before it rains.

    Hope you are reading Freexxx

Very sad about the attacks last night. How very wicked some people can be.

Glad you enjoyed your birthday NIC - hope things went well for the girls at the dancing today. How lovely that your mum's tree will be used and enjoyed again.

0462 well done on the weight loss. Scales aren't important anyway, it's not your weight that matters, it's how you feel in your clothes so if you know you've lost weight (and you obviously have) then the rest is just numbers.

PRINCESSKITTY I think I had that Alan Titchmarsh book too - as soon as I unpack the book boxes I'll find out if I've still got it and if I have its coming out. It's something really basic I need so I can dip in if I need to.

VULPIX I think I'll take your advice and give the books back with a big thank you and use Alan and Google info when I need it. They're very old books, one is 1981! We've done a bit more weeding this afternoon - trying to do a bit each day so we can get on top of it and then keep it under control. Can I ask what you use for mulching? What do you think about bark chippings or do they blow away? I don't want to spend too much money but we don't have home made compost or anything.

MRSI I don't know where you get your energy from but I take my hat off to you. That's really good going to have done all the containers, I've usually done quite a few by now but with the move I haven't bothered this year. I'm planning on planting some bulbs in containers in the autumn ready for next spring but time will tell, I'm full of good intentions.

FREE hope you're doing ok and just busy.

PINKSTEPS we're missing you, hope you're still reading and you and George are ok.

MURIE are you sleeping better now? Hope you've recovered from your trip.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Peppa, bark chippings are great, they get wet with rain so don't blow about really. You can use grass cuttings but it doesn't look great unless its where you wouldn't see it.Bark could get expensive if you need a lot though. My plan is to have so many plants in the garden that there is no room for weeds.
DD2 coming tomorrow, will see if she can take some pics.

I went to an open garden this afternoon. There was a ceramics artist there.I bought 3 little porcelain cats for the 3 cat lovers stockings. Not much but it's a start.

Dd already has her dress a beautiful flowing gown in pale blue , just got to convince her to wear a proper bra with it [a battle im not winning at the moment.] We have diverted her a bit by focussing on the hotel , we have a wet room so a bath is a rare event so have bought some bubble bath so she can have a soak + theres always room service lol.

As part of the cancer gene testing i had to have a mamogram well i have to go back today for a more focused one hopefully it turns out to be nothing but cant help thinking worse case scenario.

Argos have a sale on i picked up a spa face mask gift basket for DD reduced from £9-99 to £6-49 .

peppa- Im still not doing great on the sleep front Im afraid. Im OK after the tumble, thankfully not like last year. The garden sounds as if you are starting to get a grip on it- are there any tree surgeons in the area that you could approach if you need lots of bark chippings? I agree with Vulpix they work out mightily expensive, especially as you have to keep topping them up.
Vulpix- is the cream working ? I like your way of thinking about the weeds situation! I only have a tiny courtyard style garden but I still find weeds bloomin nuisance- the problem is with such a large dog I have to leave part of it for her to do what she has to do (!) so weeds really take a hold there.
Chrissy- its completely understandable how you feel at the mo x Sounds as if you have got good diversion tactics in mind.
    lovin' this site!

    Good Morning all,
Roofer is here! YEAH!! waited so long for this to happen, only thing is it is pouring it down so looks unlikely he will get much done lol. We had a lovely day at the wedding yesterday. Husbands niece, lovely day with just close family and friends. Really lovely atmosphere and great to catch up with everybody x
DS back at school today but myself and DD are off for another week Today is a house day. We going to rest and potter about doing bits and bots.
Not sure if anybody is interested but tried that skinny tan for the first time and am very impressed with it. I suffer with very sensitive skin, have psoriasis and am allergic to lanolin, but this tan is fab and does not have that funny tan smell either. looks very natural and I got lots of compliments yesterday on it. People were asking if I had been away lol.

nic2075- belated birthday wishes x Hope you and DD had a fab day yesterday. That is lovely that you get the chance to put up the tree your parents had xx
Mrs I- Thanks for the hug, I like them too lol. Wow you have been busy. I feel like I have achieved something if I get up, get washed and dressed and have fed the kids over the school holidays lol
Vulpix- How is your cream working out? Hope things are starting to improve. We have been waiting for this loft work for so long that the rest of my house was put on pause. It has not been a home we have updated as we have been waiting to get the loft done first as we know it is a messy job. The loft being done means my house can finally become our home that reflects us as a family. SO exciting.
Peppa- Thank you for the comments, I am determined to get some more off as it is better for my spine. Really want to get some more weight off and then hopefully start coming of painkillers. Peppa like everything you set your mind to I know your garden will look stunning. You are an amazing lady!
Chrissyg-Good luck today with the mammogram, It is good they are being thorough but I can understand that it is a difficult time for you. Thoughts and hugs xx
Murie- Glad to hear you are ok after your tumble xx
Free thoughts and hugs xx hope you and the family are ok xx

Oh dear it’s gone a bit grey here this morning, but Wiggle and I had a lovely time at playgroup this morning. DH treated us to an unexpected cheeky McD’s for lunch afterwards and we’re now at home having a rest. Wiggle doesn’t have daytime naps now and the only way I can get him to sit down for any period of time is to let him watch hoovers/washing machines on YouTube! We’ve bought him a toy washing machine as a present from the baby when it comes home, I can’t wait to give it to him he’s going to be in his element!

I’ve just been thinking that I haven’t done anything Christmas related for aaaaages. I need to spend half an hour or so looking at my spreadsheet so I can get myself as organised as possible as I imagine things will be a bit all over the place again when the baby comes!

04624181 I can imagine, it’s difficult when you know how you want things but have to wait! You’ll get there in the end though and it will have been worth it. Keeping fingers crossed it doesn’t rain too much so he can get on with the roof!

Thanks vulpix. If I do end up going into labour we’ll just have to head to the nearest hospital, I’m sure we’ll all be fine!

CHRISSYG hopefully they are just being thorough and there is nothing more to it. Good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I had my mamogram and then a CT scan and it's good news everything is normal so that's a relief .
