Mrs I- we have a similar saying- 'at the end of the day its night'
Peppa- I've never heard those sayings but I do like the rude one- (late MIL was a Londoner and late FIL was a cockney ). There is a perfect little dog out there waiting for you- I'm a firm believer in they find you when its time. Take it easy for a few days if you have over exerted - gives the weeds a chance to fight (grow) back lol! Its sad to be selling the dolls house but as you say think of the pennies towards the new kitchen (and the room).
princesskitty- Im sure once they had been home for 10 minutes you could have done with a little more peace and quiet, hopefully Wiggle had a great time at the zoo x
Julie- hope you managed to get some sleep to make up for the early start. Im afraid I would have 10 fits if I had a lot of rodent wildlife (despite growing up in a semi rural area)- I don't like rats or mice at all- although the deceased variety that Bailey brings home are better than the living ones !
Yesterday was gorgeous- not too hot but nice and sunny. We spent the day in the garden and had home made pizza from the pizza oven- it was brilliant! The oven worked fantastically and they tasted beautiful- DS was over the moon with his Christmas present !!! The oven can cook a pizza in 4 mins so he was churning them out a rate of knots- mom took some home to freeze. It was well worth all the stubbed toes and hassle from last year!
Today is not looking promising weather wise- its very dark and dismal but still sticky- I don't think the pizza oven will be in use today !
Enjoy the Bank Holiday xlovin' this site!

Yes it’s been a grey day here but very muggy, it’s just started to rain lots. Although it’s always nice and refreshing to have some rain after the hot weather. We’ve had a nice family day today, went to Costa this morning for coffee and cake, then for a walk in the park and then fed the ducks. We emptied about five boxes from our spare room this afternoon, yes we still have lots of unpacked boxes even though we’ve been here seven months!
Then we went to the in laws for an indoor bbq, I think once upon a time they had a mishap with a fire with a real bbq, so now have all the usual bbq food but cooked in the oven! :rotfl:
Peppa oh I’m sorry to hear you missed out on the Jug, but I suppose the positive is that there were a lot of people wanting to give her a home. I hope you find another suitable pooch soon.
murie it’s great to hear the pizza oven works so well and that it was worth the hassle of having it hanging around for so long! I love the idea of a pizza oven, I may look into that one day.0 -
Murie thank you so much for the lovely pm I tried to reply but my inbox was full so it wouldn't let me.
I've not been on mse for a couple of weeks as working full time now till summer so every spare minute seems to be taken.
Our Christmas present from the kids was tickets to see kiss at Birmingham on Sunday night. It was incredible they are such a fantastic band and the show was outstanding. I've to,d them they reLly have set the bar high for future Christmases with that one. Adam ant came to our local venue the week before so we went to see his show again brilliant.
I've not really had much time to do Christmas prep as been busy with life work and crafting but I will try and keep up.
Love to all and I hope you are as well as can be. XSPC~12 ot 124

Hello you lovely lot! How are we all doing?
I have been slightly AWOL the last few months from MSE but am back now and able to use a computer now the dizziness and menieres disease seems to be behaving itself!
I have recently been sat thinking about Xmas though now that my sons birthday is out of the way and I have the husband in June and my daughter in July. Then thats all my main birthdays done and I can crack on properly with Xmas presents.
Nothing much has changed with me.
I am still working in Argos. Getting older. Getting wider it feels by the minute.....but trying to sort that out now. And am also trying to save money in any way I can to start saving for a house deposit :T growing up slowly!
Hope your all well
xTime to find me again0 -
Welcome back SAMMYKAYE, glad that things are settling down for you health wise.
Nothing much happening here, just the usual settling into a new home things. Have actually thought about Christmas a couple of times recently - that's a sure sign July is on the way. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Princesskitty- I can definitely recommend the pizza oven!
Mrs Moneypenny- they kids will certainly have to get their thinking caps on to top that present! Good to 'see' you x
Sammy-kaye- welcome back! I suffer from Meinieres and its no joke so good to see that you feel well enough to post again x
Peppa- I mentioned to DD yesterday that she will have to get her Christmas thinking cap on! I want to get her 21st out of the way (mid July) and then its full steam ahead for Christmas!
I won an Alison Cork tree on ebay last night so Im off to collect that this morning- I haven't told DH yet so he will come home to another tree at the opposite end of the settee to the other one- he's going to think he's living in a forest! (Who cares? I love em!!!)
Enjoy the day everyonelovin' this site!

Hiya Everyone,
I just googled Alison Cork tree.Nice.I have something similar but it isnt glittery...but it will be now:rotfl:
Ah the pizza oven:rotfl:Sounds a great success.
Mr V went on a meet n greet last night with a Nolan and Gareth Gates.I stayed home, lit a fire and spread all my craft stuff all over the living room.An armchair full will be going to the hipster car boot sale, the rest fits in a banana box:eek:It previously was a banana box and a large wicker picnic basket and several plastic bags.I sold the picnic basket.I am supposed to be saving up for a trip with my daughter but just keep buying plants.
I think I may have enough plants now.Shocking I know.Well enough for the time being.
I am at the hospital on Friday so will be on the lookout for stocking fillers of the stockings yet to be made.£ shop brace yourself.

Hi all, gosh it’s quite warm today when I wasn’t really expecting it to be! It’s a bit of a sad time in our house today as my Grandma died last night, all a bit suddenly. She was taken to hospital on Monday as she was having a heart attack, they managed to stabilise her then she had another later when they were fitting a stent but managed to stabilise her again. I think we were hoping that they would be able to do something for her and she’d just be a bit poorly for a while but it turns out there was nothing they could do and she died last night. It seems so strange as my Grandma was the real matriarch of the family (if not a bit of a battle-axe at times
), even at 88 she was still very independent living on her own and was still very sharp of mind and it felt like she would go on for years to come yet. I guess you never know when your time is up. Although she is one of the lucky ones getting to that age with her family around her – five sons and thirteen grandchildren! The nice thing is she was still lucid yesterday, had all her five sons around her, was able to request to see a priest and then died peacefully in the evening. If it’s going to happen better it happen quickly and peacefully. The only issue I have now is whether I will be able to make it to the funeral, they are over in the West Country and I’m due in a few weeks so will have to see what the date will be. Anyway sorry to go on!
mrs monepenny those concerts sounded like fun, you will have to see what Father Christmas brings this year!
sammy sorry you were not too well but glad you are better now and back online!
murie I think it’s lovely having nature/outdoors inspired things indoors, I find them very calming.0 -
Vulpix- I wish my craft stuff could be as easily contained as yours- mine seems to be all over the house despite regular decluttering. I am addicted to my crafts.
Princesskitty- Im sorry for your loss but as you say its best to go quickly in your Grandmas situation. Im sure she would understand that it may be difficult for you to attend her funeral, you can always say your 'goodbyes' in your own way.
I collected my tree- now I don't know what to do with it! I cant put it where I intended as it makes that corner look cluttered but where I have put it in the short term isn't right either. Back to the drawing board- maybe a major furniture reshuffle is in order.......lovin' this site!

Sorry to hear your bad news, it is difficult but made so much easier when she was ok up to the very end. Mine died at 95, she was holding court the evening before she died, happy as Larry, then just went to sleep & didn't wake. There was none of her family there, but I think that she did it on purpose that way, also think that as it was the same time as the London riots, she knew we would go home and would therefore be safe!
You do what you feel is best for both you and Wiggle 2, she will fully understand.A smile costs little but creates much0
