Heads up that the JL advert will be tonight but online this morning. If I have time I'll post a link but off to the doctors in a tad and that usually knocks me for six for a day or two. Typical when I may have a busy day today. x

Morning all, not precisely, Xmas but my daughter just phoned very excited, she has an account with JD Williams and there is an under counter Beko, silver fridge for the grand price of £7.00 (seven pounds).

We have ordered 1 each and the order has gone through. I hope it's not a mistake and they cancel the order because of a misprint.

    The code is LV795VD.

I am really sorry if it doesn't work and for maybe getting anyone's hopes up :(

I'm afraid to say I think it may be cancelled as they have no link to that product any more.

0462 I really am looking forward to decorating in a new place, you know me so well :D

GYD I'm very excited about the JL ad, we're away this weekend (get me) so I'm going to record whatever programme is on at 9.30 tonight so I've got the full lenth version. For anyone who hasn't heard it premieres tonight at 9.30 on channel 4 and all Sky's own channels.

PINKPETAL welcome. Don't worry that it won't be special because you're away from home, it'll be special because you'll take the Christmas spirit with you. I'd say either keep up your normal traditions while you're there or you could go the other way and embrace the difference. It's a long time since I was a child but as far as I recall as long as there's a tree and presents you can't go wrong :D

KPWLL I'll keep my fingers crossed that the fridge order isn't withdrawn.

I remembered the wrapping party last night but I've only gone and wrapped everything already. I had a peek on here to see if anything was going on but it wasn't so I didn't feel guilty. I've got a few more bits to get so hopefully I can wrap them on 25th as I intend to be bought and wrapped by the end of this month.

Going off topic for a minute, does anyone live in Leeds or has anyone done the Emmerdale tour recently? I want to book for April as my sis and DD2 are Emmerdale mad (DD1 and I don't watch it but we're prepared to sacrifice for the greater good). I want to book the outside village tour and also the indoor studio tour but don't know Leeds at all so not sure how far they are from each other. Also whether to book the hotel at the pick up point for the outside tour and then drive to the studio one or stay in central Leeds and drive to the outside tour meeting point. Any ideas?

  • I'm not overly inpressed with this year's JL ad. It's cute enough I suppose but it doesn't feel particularly Christmassy. Much prefer the M&S and Argos ones. Love seeing the elf sprinting to catch the delivery sleigh thing. :rotfl:

Hi Pinkpetal  before DH and I were tied down with little rascals and were young free spirits :rotfl: we used to do christmas is spain. Being the christmas nut I am, I used to pack a 2ft fibre optic tree with tinsel and decorations, crackers (got stopped by the lady at the counter over those! had to pull them out and prove they were completely sealed as they classed them as an explosive  ), I have also been known to take some of those 1980's foil garland thingys that we used to hang from the ceiling and tape them to various bits of furniture (so I didnt mark anything), tin of sweets, presents etc. If I was to do it now, i'd also look to take some silly bits like those face mask props for photos, and wind up penguins/santas to play races. I also tend to do the kids a treasure hunt after present opening to keep them occupied until we have to go see the parents, so i'd probably do the same thing but around the hotel room and try and be as obscure as possible with my clues :rotfl:

0462 - I actually feel like im getting there now! It's just the food shopping that seems like it has no end :o

KPWLL - good luck with your fridge! fingers crossed they dont cancel

Sorry Peppapig, no idea on the emmerdale tour im afraid, I am surrounded by Eastenders fans

  • Peppa a quick look on google maps suggests they are about a 15 minute drive from each other. Each experience is about 90 mins and are pre booked time slots I think so would take a bit of planning to ensure you could do both. Never been though sorry

Speaking of tours though yesterday I won tickets to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. I am so excited. We are going to go in February when we are both off work.

  • Afternoon everyone, those of you who know my Thumper, he has been referred to the team that deals with Autism, we have said for about a year we think he has traits of it and he is just getting worse and worse with his little quirky ways, well the hospital agreed this morning and he will now have tests in the next year to get a proper diagnosis. We are just relieved that they can see it as well, DD2 is so fed up of people saying there is nothing wrong with him but she has stuck to her guns and got him in the system. We just want to know how to support and help him along in life.

OAKDENE I'm a no tinsel fan here :D

PEPPAPIG have a great weekend, sorry I don't know anything about the Emmerdale tour

04624181 glad your back is good at the moment

STOKIEBECKS ooh well done you on winning the tickets to HP studio, you will love it, I really enjoyed it

KPWLL I hope the fridge goes through ok what a bargain!!

CLUMSY I agree with you I didn't find it very Christmassy either

MURIE I really want to get one for DS he loves his cheese! I bet they sell out quick though

I haven't watched the JL advert yet, will probably catch it tonight. I like the M&S one, but not as much as previous years. One that caught my eye the other day was the Very christmas advert, very sweet :)

I won't be able to join in any of the wrapping parties until all the decorating in my house is finished, because all the presents I have bought so far are in a box in my spare room, buried underneath all my DD's stuff while her room is empty to be painted.

I am taking a few days off at the end of this month when all the decorating is finished so I can get everything back in place and then the Christmas decs are coming down from the attic. I can't wait!!

It struck me today how quickly this year has gone. I know they all seem to whizz by, but it feels like it wasn't very long ago we were all busy organising Christmas 2016 & now we're almost there again for this year.

I ordered a few presents yesterday. I'm starting to get things ticked off the list now so feeling quite organised, even though my house is chaotic with all the decorating going on. I can't wait for the day my house is back to normal, my tree is up & I have wrapped presents sitting under the tree looking pretty :)

FREE my DD was exactly the same with littlest DGS, she was adamant there was something different even though her DH and others thought she was fussing. He had a formal autism diagnosis before he was three and as a result she has been able to claim DLA to help with the additional expenses and he was able to have funded time at nursery. Fortunately their lovely village school has a nursery class where he is really happy and he'll go to school there as well. All the teachers sign Makaton so even though he was non verbal until earlier this year he was able to communicate. He speaks quite well now and has really blossomed. Hopefully you'll have good professionals too, but if your DD ever wants to chat to someone in a similar position just let me know and I'll pass on DD's email.

Well we've arrived at our hotel, turns out we're in Kings Lynn for the weekend. Just settling in with a cup of tea then we'll be off to the bar.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
