Princess Kitty sounds like your family have had their fair share of illness hope you all on the mend now.
Murie happy to do cards again pop me on list please.

Patent girl- well done on the bargains. pm me your address as I didn't keep last years list for security reasons.
Shall we call a cut off date again to send the cards as say 4th December? That way it ensures that everyone receives their card in time via snail mail and sending them early means one less thing to add to the To Do list once things start hotting up in the month.

    Morning all
Wow our thread is really moving now.
Murie - Can I join as well please - I will PM you my name and address for the card swap - sending some out anyway so one more wont break the bank :D
Catty - the crafts sound lovely. Can we see pictures when your done please?
PrincessKitty - sorry to hear you have been poorly and hope Squeak and Wiggle are feeling much better too.....and OH obviously!
Vintage - they had some mens fluffy socks and slipper socks in B&M when I looked yesterday because I half considered some for my OH but my MIL has already brought him some.Think they were only a few pound and festive themed.
Stokie - where do you work? My work is the same - I get more overtime now - Im snowed under with overtime this week with an offer they have on and all hands on deck. Fingers crossed it will stay consistent now though until Xmas :T:T:T:T pays the bills and Xmas presents :D:D

Well Xmas had well and truly hit south wales.......our local shopping centre puts up these big swags and 12 days of Christmas banners and they were out in full glory yesterday - I will try and get a picture for you all today but it feels very festive now! Although no sign of Santas Grotto coming along yet.

My Xmas theme for yesterday was trying to think of 25 things to do with Holly that dont break the bank, that we can do with the elf that comes and some that Ben might actually take part in now hes a stroppy teenager - also that doesnt involve much travel since I dont drive .... think I have some good ones and I have found a few nice bits.
Found stickers that are little doors and theres two to a pack so going to put one in my house and see if MIL will put one in hers after all its where the kids are looked after so then the elf has a gateway between houses for extra mischief - my MIL is really good and plays along.
Also found mummy elf, naughty elf, little elf and daddy elf on mugs yesterday and they all match so brought those for our hot chocolate station idea. Not to mention I found a robin mug for my mother in law so when elfy visits there he can give her a nice present from santa too.

Just need to name the elf now and that my lovely friends is where I need some help.......She thinks in work I see Bernard the head elf since I work with a lot of toys - we help santa store them all ;););););) so it cant be Bernard and we have had Merry and Jingle already :D:D I think the elf this year is going to be a good elf though......not so naughty

Right off to do some housework before I start work at 10am :-( Its going to be manic today with the 3 for 2 starting.....
    Time to find me again

  • Morning campers! Very happy bunny as I had such a productive day yesterday, even managed to get the trotters done, so they are now looking reasonable again.

Was really worried about weigh-in as I have been struggling recently, came to the conclusion that it was my body adjusting to the fact we are now into winter foods so was going to talk about it and how to get over it. Got on scales, expecting to have gained a few lb only to discover I lost 2lb:j This has done so much to my morale and hopefully means that I will do a bit more than another 1/2 st by Christmas.

Superdrug must have thought I whiffed a bit, as I came out with 15 deodorants! They will be going in the family gifts, but as they were selling one brand for less than 1/2 price, meant I got more for my money and there will be more for other treats.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Hey everyone!! Sorry I've been awol - its been a hectic week at work!

Belated birthday wishes to you Peppa!!! Glad you had such a lovely day.

Ace to see so many Welshies on this forum, my OH is Welsh and I'm heading there this weekend for his brothers birthday celebrations! Literally one of my favorite places in the world!

I'd love to be a part of the card swap - i'll inbox you my address Murie!

Sammy - it's lovely that your MIL plays along so well, we will all have to put our heads together and come up with a nice Elf name!

GTQ - you are definitely inspiration, well done on your weightloss you should be super proud!

Well done to everyone on their present buying and bargain hunting skills! Now that it's November I feel like I can finally start discussing Christmas with everyone that isn't as Christmas crazy as me hahah!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)
  • Thanks for your well wishes, I think we’re all on the mend now!

3forholidays thank you for offering to do the new thread, I am happy for you to do it if you are? You always do such a good job! Although I must remember that you swap to a new thread before Christmas day as I always say Merry Christmas on the old thread when nobody's there! :rotfl: Um, how about ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ or ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’? As you can tell I’m not good at this! I’m also struggling to remember all the thread titles for the last 6 years or so! Need to go back and have a look…

GTQ well done on the weight loss! And it sounds like you’re coming along well with the hampers, although yes the staff probably thought you might have a problem! :p

    Well done GTQ.

Yes please to doing the 2018 thread 3FORHOLIDAYS, you're so good at it. I'll try to get the brain in gear and come up with some name suggestions. For the newer members, the titles we've already had are:

    2012 Let it Snow
2013 The Holly and the Ivy
    2014 Stop the Cavalry
2015 Walking in a Winter Wonderland
2016 It's the Most Wondeful Time of the Year

Apologies if there was one before 2012 but I only joined then. I also was sure we had one called Deck the Halls but I think I must have imagined that.

Lovely to see the thread moving well now.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
