Boots Sale

Disappointed no beer / lager / cider packs to be seen this year, always get those for early birthdays and Fathers day, they'll think I've forgot ☹0

I went to the small store in Bletchley, got there at 9:05 and was told that all the four small local stores had sent their stock to the main store in central Milton Keynes so they had plenty. Wasn't that worried - I did manage to get some jewellery items which were half price and buy one get one free, even the lady on the till was impressed.
They also had some reduced items near the till - so got two tins of Batiste styling sprays for 50p each, a nice lipgloss for £2 and some other bits for 50p each.
Happy with what I got as I had already stocked up on the stuff I really wanted in the online sale on Christmas Eve.One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
Although I said I wouldn't venture out for the sale today I did pass by a Boots after work, on the way to the Fish n Chip Shop with hubby. It was closing so the sale stock had been decimated like there had been a plague of locusts. There was no river of blood, so everything must have been calm. I managed to pick up the PJs I would have liked (although a little roomy on top) and some very small gifts for others. There was no Ted Baker, no FCUK just a few Reiss boxes with the purse, some sanctuary bags, some vanilla Boots extracts, garden collection, starbucks, some S&G crackers and tubes and reindeer slippers.
Three rows of sales upstairs plus three shelves of stock downstairs cleared.
The sales assistant was very helpful, stated they had opened the store and people ran up the stairs. I was pleased to get a small few items and use up a gift card.
I think I have finally broken that "Boots sale addiction" as had there been nothing I would have liked I would have walked out with gift card in purse. Easy to get drawn in by the hype.
Well done to those who managed to go cold turkey and buy elsewhere and also to those who got what they genuinely wanted for friends and family.0 -
Nice to see so many managing to get some bits and pieces. I didn't bother as my little sticks store has little at the best of times... Now that stock gets transferred to larger footfall stores it's just not worth it.

I think it's normally two weeks after 70% off sale?0 -
Glad people managed to get whar they wanted
One thing I shall say every year apart from star gifts the stock rotation to different stores is getting better also the amount of stock coming into stores is getting better handled as well. So be warned with every passing year less and less stock is starting to filter down for the 70 percent sale.hence I can see in the future boots not doing one just look at online first year there hasn't been one0 -
Website does seem to have the large Sale banner on now for 'Save up to 70%' although still only seems to be Mother & Baby stock where the real bargains are, what bit of Christmas they have such as Yardley & Charlie still says half price.
I'm surprised they've had the online sale as long as they have really and it makes total sense to me if they don't have it online again, most retailers do tend to make sure all the Christmas stock is in stores rather than in the warehouse after Christmas and given how late Boots do their 70% sale compared to other retailers they have plenty of time to do this, though I appreciate not all stores probably have the warehouse space for it. But as others have pointed out, slicker stock movement and rotation between stores means it's sat in the right stores and so more likely to sell pre 70% so less left.
I've definitely seen what seems to be less stock in my local this year though still plenty to be had in all honesty so I reckon it'll be a few years yet.
Star Gifts have definitely had their day in my opinion given how much stock seemed to be left of them these last couple of years, they'll be having some new versions of them in store again soon at 'half price' probably for Valentines Day / Mothers Day & in the summer, think people are starting to realise it's not the red hot deal you think it is in the run up to Christmas, although people did seem to like the Soap & Glory one this year as non of those left at mine whereas there had been for the last couple of years.0 -

The later they do the sale, the more they're hoping to shift at 50% off. Not having so much stock in the 70% off this year is probably part of an intiative (as well as better stock mgmt) to move people back to 50% at worst showing 'if you wait for 70% it might not be in there'. All the items I bought at 50%, including a couple of So...? Sets which used to regularly show up in the 75% / 70% sale weren't to be seen in my local store this year....which was awash with S&G, Ted baker and lynx / dove sets.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
