NSD for me
Tomorrow will be a shopping day though, but having been inspired by these posts I will make sure it is absolutely, positively essentials only and not WANTS.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

I used to love threads like that, but any I went on, people didn't post much and it died a death. Do you have a link to it.
First spends of the month, totalling £17.50. Bit more than I wanted, some meat free frozen options, for when I can't be arsed - Linda Mc pulled chicken, i've been dying to try, loads of avocados, tomatoes and blueberries, 4 tubs £1 (the mind boggles), frozen & ready for smoothies.

I'm off to a good start - already spent £42.57!
Okay, order placed for this weekend and tentative meal plan already written.
Don't think this enthusiasm will last, but we'll see...
Breakfasts - Oats, yogurt, frozen fruit.
Lunches - Leftovers from dinner the night before
Dinners: Monday - Friday in no particular order (Monday at home, maybe Friday too)- Chicken tikka biryani
- Chicken tikka masala with rice
- Chicken and prawn paella (or chicken/mushroom risotto)
- Chicken fajita
- Chicken and bacon creamy pasta
Spend this week c.£40 (need to add up receipts and it depends on if everything is delivered as ordered)That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Hi everyone
Not been out today, but will need milk and a couple of bits tomorrow. Off out tomorrow night babysitting for dd, it's their works Xmas do, and as I'm staying over night I am being treated to dinner and then breakfast out so I'm looking forwards to that.

4 NSDs this week:) and I'm finding that sticking to my 'need not want' policy is really helping me to shift some of the stuff that's been lurking in my pantry for a very long time.
We ran out of the tea bags we prefer on Thursday, but had two big boxes of a stores own brand I bought on impulse when they were on offer several months ago. And guess what? They're absolutely fine and we are going to use them before any more tea comes through this front door. We need 3 tea bags rather than two to make a good pit of tea - like it strong here- but using three instead of two is a lot better than just letting it sit in the cupboard unopened, and is saving money in a roundabout way too :T
The fruit bowl just has 3 apples left in it today and they will be eaten over the weekend so I feel that fresh fruit can now justfiably be bought again. Off to Morries with a strict shopping list though and am determined not to deviate from it or overbuy fruit - still stacks of rather old tinned fruit to be eaten with yogurt at breakfast so will limit the fresh and get just enough so that it is all until next Friday.
Have realised that although the chickens benefit from our food waste my purse feels a lot fuller as a result of ' not buying it' and that's spurring me on.
Great thread! Thank you for your support everyone.0 -
Spent £13.28 this week on some dinner bits and milk. OH and I only came back from abroad on Tuesday evening, so it was a short week.
First delivery of the year coming later this morning. I've made a meal plan for the next 7 days, trying to use up some of our freezer and cupboard stock. We shouldn't have any spends at all next week, apart from some fresh veg.
I'm also going to make soup tomorrow, my first ever attempt at soup  That will cover my lunches for most of the week, so hopefully I can bag some NSDs!0 -
Small spend of £3.74 to be added to my sig on YS veggies, butter and sausage rolls.
Last of the pate has finally gone and there is just a tiny bit of a couple of Xmas cheeses left now - am hoping DS1 will consume those this weekend
I'd like to eat chicken nachos for dinner tonight - not sure OH will agreeHave no idea what to do if not! Pizza, maybe? (Want something 'treat-y' but from stores)
Shopping lists have just been written for both Ald1 and Tesc0 - will do either today or tomorrow (makes no difference in reality) Will need a top up of milk and poss f&v in week (cannot fit enough milk for the week in fridge at one go, so a top up is always required)

I bought leeks yesterday and made a huge pot of leek and potato soup which we will be lunch for two days and then portion up the rest for the freezer.
Before Christmas I borrowed Hugh F-W's book, Love your Leftovers, from the library and found it so good DH bought it for me as a present. I made Berry good frozen yogurt with some fruit and just in date yogurt - delicious and six small pots in the freezer. Another useful recipe is ready made crumble topping, stored in a container, to sprinkle cold on fruit or heat up to make a quick crumble.
Don't intend to spend anything today but will visit the library in town to have a browse of the new books.0 -
Off to do a week's shopping shortly but planning to keep this to fresh fruit and veg, milk and eggs, with all the other usage to come out of the freezer and store-cupboard
Keep control team!
