Evening all - tis windy enough down here so I dread to think what it's like with those of you in the North and Scotland. Take care and fingers crossed it passes without incident x
Valli - so pleased to hear you've had some good news x
LW - take it easy; baby ratties send you hugs x
Mrs MP - well done on tackling the course now x
Gilly - welcome back x
I've had a fairly productive day (for me!) and have done 2 x WM, sorted and cleaned out food cupboards, cleaned worksurfaces, appliances and cupboard fronts, shined the sink and cleaned the hob. Also chucked a load of lids that no longer seem to have tubs to match!
Going to do some cross stitch and watch some TV or a film tonight (as well as having a play with ratties, of course)"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Best laid plans of mice and men.......
Our bath tap has broken.
Mr LW went to run some water to help me wash my hair, and something has sheared off inside the cold side of the mixer tap and it now just spins round and round, and can't be turned off.
Mr LW has turned off the cold supply to the bathroom via the valve in the airing cupboard, so we have NO cold water in there at all - ie have to flush the loo with a bucket.
He's been onto our Friendly Neighbourhood Plumber/Gas Engineer, and one of their chaps will be coming tomorrow to take a look; good job I don't have guests for Christmas weekend, eh?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all
Oh LW you couldnt make it up could you? Hope it gets sorted tomorrow.
So, left the house at 8.20am, called at the post office to collect a parcel, then paid stuff, then shopping, then hairdressers, then a quick drink in the pub with some friends, then DS1 collected and brought home, then DS and DH taken back to the pub, quick visit to MIL with flowers and cards, two bags of presents delivered to opposite ends of town, called into Co-0p for yet more food shopping, home to feed DS2, Christmas pudding made and into slow cooker, bit of a tidy round - and collapse onto sofa.
Just watched an old Royle Family Christmas special with DS2, lots of giggles even though we have seen it several times.
I am on taxi duty. DH and DS1 need to be collected from the pub at some stage.
Oh and I have just realised that I havent been upstairs since about 7.30am this morning, hope DH has left the bedroom tidy!0 -
Hope the tap problem gets sorted lw
Frodders have the ratties got band yet (I'm thinking of them as ft and hardcore until told otherwise) what a you stitching? I've got a Celtic Noel lady who I really should do more of and some ft lyrics on a cushion panel for ds2
Just back from a walk and a medicinal at the local watering hole with Dh and ds2 (ds2 had coke)SPC~12 ot 124

Evening everyone and hiya Gilly :hello:
Thanks a million for all the lovely cards. I sat with a cuppa and enjoyed opening and reading them all. They are now adorning the big bookcase and look so cheery
Glad it was good news Valli
Well done Mrs MP with doing and passing your exam
Sorry to hear about your cold water LW and hope it's soon fixed
Dailies done
Bedding changed
All WM and TD done
Ironing empty
Still one-handed so DH kindly did the WU so it will have to 'drip-dry' today. I wiped down all the bunkers and wiped over the hob.
It's been very dreary here today. Grey and wet all day, dark soo early and now cold and gusty. Hope it improves for Sunday as we shall be walking home after our christmas dinner.
Hugs, gws vibes, sticks and spoons to all needing some. Plenty of spare GUAG as well, as not able to use much atm.
Hope you all have a super Saturday christmas eve :xmassign:

So glad to hear you had good news, Valli. (((Hugs)))
Huge congrats Mrs MP on the food safety exam. I honestly don't know how you fit everything in.
S*ds law, LW. Something we rely on without thinking about it has a hissy fit when we need it like a hole in the head.
Fridge cleared out, washing got in and draped all over my office which is now a certified catastophe area, turkey collected from the farm, shopping in Totnes carried out and lovely things found for those people who are the very devil to buy for - I love Totnes - cake iced, another load shoved in the WM and OH has just pegged it out.
My secret santa has arrived - thank you very much. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it at some point in the new year when things have calmed down, so that's something to look forward to when all the festivities are over and everything's grim and cold.Better is good enough.0 -
Happy Christmas Eve everyone
Hugs to all who need /want them
Having a cuppa and toast in peace then we'll make a start
A few bit still not done off the lists and a trip to the attic needed for emergency table etc.
Tomorrow will arrive regardless so try not to stress too much over the little things, we've all worked hard to make a lovely Christmas/Yule for everyone else so please make sure you stop stressing delicate some of the jobs and enjoy the day. Oh and photos don't forget photos, every year we have everyone round and suddenly realise when we are crashing down in peace at the end of the day that we didn't take a single picture!we do have those lovely memories in our heads but sometimes a picture is a fantastic memento.frodders will know what I mean when I say "just take a Polaroid picture"
Will try and pop back in at some point but if I don't have a good one, I'll raise a glass to flyladies past and present when I finish later.SPC~12 ot 124

Good morning all. Christmas Eve, how did that come round so soon? It was only yesterday I was moaning about all the adverts being too early on the telly.
Hope you are all ok, you've certainly been busy. I have barely kept up with the dailies due to being a lazy so and so but I have got the washing up to date so will need to tackle the ironing at some point in the next week.
LW - hope you get the tap sorted today.
Valli - so pleased you've had some good news.
Mrs MP - well done.
I've not even done our Christmas food shopping, I left that to DH although he forgot to use the savings stamps we collected over the year, so I did pootle round the Co-Op late last night picking up some bits we don't need.
And on to today:
Change bedding
Hoover through
Walk dogs
And I'm spending 4 hours raising funds for the Red Cross in a nearby town.
Oh, and my boss bought me and DH something rather naughty for Christmas. Not sure what to make of it, very funny, and glad I suppose that I'm not thought too old for that kind of thing!
Righto, I'll catch up with you all later. Breakfast now.
Have a great Christmas Eve everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Merry Christmas Eve everyone. I just have to do
Dailies
ironing
trifle
mince pies
buy bulb for light
look out camera (as per excellent reminder by Mrs MP)
I'm sure other things will arise but these are the must do's.:rotfl:0 -
Still got to put up decorations and tree, make crakers, make card for DH and wrap gifts :-)
Love to all...better get cracking!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
