I plan on going to Vegas for my 30th with my wife in May / June next year.
This will be my first visit and probably my only for at least several years so I am really loooking to make the most of it.
I like the idea of staying in two separate hotels and experiencing a difference.
Which two hotels would you guys recommend as a first time. I'm looking at going for 5 nights?
Thanks
IMO 5 nights Is not long enough for a first visit and def not worth changing hotels in that short time.
This comes from someone who always does multi hotels per trip ( usually 3 sometimes 4)
If it's for a specail occasion and 5 nights is all you have, take a look at
Wynn\Encore
Venetian/Pallazzo
Caesers Palace Augustus or Ocatvius tower
Or Bellagio
My pref would be CP for the location and its iconic0 -
We like it, and will be staying there in a few weeks. It doesn't have a casino if that's important to you.littlereddevil wrote: »I've almost decided on the Platinum. Decent enough?0 -
Agree with Brats and photome. Not worth changing hotels on a 5 night trip, especially not your first one.englandcrew wrote: »Hi all, I have been reading through this thread and taking lots of notes and advice from the posts. Thank you.

Well only 50 odd days till I go back to Vegas now, not counting though!

Quick question for all you experienced lot regarding show tickets. Now with the parents tagging along they deffo want to see at a minimum the Penn and Teller and Terry Fator shows.
What the best way to get the good deals on tickets?
Buy now here in the UK well in advance from an online site.
Buy when in Vegas a day or so before from the resort in question
But from one of the various cheap ticket selling locations dotted around the strip?
Not a clue as I didn't really bother with shows last time I went.
Thanks in advance.0 -
I think I saw Penn and Teller and Terry Fator on travelzoo or best of vegas last week. Also try Goldstar for show tickets. Tix4tonite is worth a look. Go to their website now and look at the sneak peek. That will give you an idea of the prices at the moment.Well only 50 odd days till I go back to Vegas now, not counting though!

I'm not good at posting links from my phone. There will probably be links to them all on the first few posts.0 -

Without giving us a bit more info on likes and dislikes, preferences on which area of Vegas, and most importantly cost that is a "how long is a piece of string" question.
Plus imho 5 nights is very short for a first time visit.
Oh right, I have been told by a few people to not go for longer than 5 days.
I would like to be on the main part of the strip and really experience a variety of things. I am massively into gambling and would love to experience that every night.
My partner would like to shop a little but mainly see the sites as well.0 -

Thanks for the reply. Something to think about. Maybe I will just stick with one hotel for my first time0 -
If you're renting a car then shifting between hotels is quick and easy. Without a car it's far more of a pain.englandcrew wrote: »Maybe I will just stick with one hotel for my first time
With a car you could explore outside the city to places such as Red Rocks Canyon (23 miles each way), Hoover Dam (32 miles each way), Mount Charleston (43 miles each way) or Valley of Fire (56 miles each way), but with only a relatively short trip you might not feel the desire to do any of that."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0
