  • Oh right, I have been told by a few people to not go for longer than 5 days.

I would like to be on the main part of the strip and really experience a variety of things. I am massively into gambling and would love to experience that every night.

My partner would like to shop a little but mainly see the sites as well.

    hi
i can understand being into gambiling but be careful and always set a buget ! it is the easiest thng to do is lose alot of money ,(thoguh easy to win as well thoguh sometimes losing outway wins)
Unsure if you are aware but if you stay in one hotel, you ARE able to go into other hotel casinos to play slots, poker and other games.
There are alot of shopping opputunities for your partner.

    hope this helps
  • Can someone please confirm something for me?
I have an ESTA which does not run out until January 2018.
If I book a Vegas holiday before then am I right in thinking I can't apply for a new ESTA until the old one runs out?
  • I'd say not Hooters! It's a dive. Paris and Planet Hollywood have the best location IMO, and seeing as you've been to Paris, why not try the other one? The PH buffet is really nice, and not the queues of Paris. I've stayed in the Linq back when it was the Imperial Palace and I gather they haven't updated the bedrooms that much...

Just in case anyone is visiting soon and doesn't realised, Spice Market is a reduced buffet just now (about a quarter smaller). They don't have their Italian station just now, and some of the other bits at that end (the left as you face to food area) are closed/reduced. A chunk has been cordoned off on the left after a flood. This also means that coupons aren't valid just now, and may also explain why there have been no groupon deals. They have however reduced the price a bit ($5 maybe) so it's still a good enough deal.

How do people keep their Total Reward Credits from expiring?

Seem to remember reading there is a way by visiting a Alea Casino,or if someone can suggest a easier way I would appreciate it.

    Thx

I was at an Alea casino last night. I was given a new UK total rewards card and told to keep my US one for US visits. I don't know i the information I was given was correct or not, but I don't think it kept my account active by playing last night. My husband tried his US TR card in a slot machine, but it didn't recognise it.

I've renewed early, but that was because I got a new passport. If I remember correctly, they send an email about a month before. I renewed for the SO right when the email arrived. They let me do it even though it had a month to go. Have a try and see what happens.
  • I've almost decided on the Platinum. Decent enough?

Have stayed there about 10 times, only back a week from our last visit. I guess you could say we like it! :rotfl:

Service seemed a little better this year. The girl at front desk remembered us from last year, and so did two of the bar staff. They were very nice to us too.

We usually book a Princess Suite, strip view. The Princess Suite has the washing machine which is great for longer stays. The strip view is great, as you can imagine because of the view but also you can see the pool too. You get the sun on the balcony in the afternoons in the strip view rooms. Early morning sunshine for the mountain view rooms.

Stir, the bar downstairs, has a good happy hour 4-7pm with half price drinks - wine, beers and some mixed drinks. They also have a wine hour (4 or 430 to 530pm), where they put out some red and white wine and you can help yourself for free.
  • Also just managed to book a silly low rate when logged into Total Rewards for next September. $32 weekends at Planet Hollywood!

Thankyou. Have just booked 12 nights in April, princess suite. Actually got a slighter better rate by emailing them

Could I pick your brains about flights? We're looking at Dublin - NYC (any) - Vegas - Dublin in Feb '18 but not sure whether it's worth holding off booking flights for a while. United is showing economy at £380 all in - is that pretty much as good as it's going to get? Seems very reasonable but I have no experience of them so would be interested in your opinions! Are they decent enough or would you recommend anyone else over them?

I have to admit that when I hear/read things like this, it does annoy me. I've seen a few people on my FB page say 'thinking of going to Vegas, any tips' and the amount of people who say 'well, don't go for longer than 3 to 5 days' really gets on my thrup'innies.
Like I have said to some people. 3/5 days isn't long enough, you have to spend a day getting there, a 10 - 11 hour direct flight for a start, & a day getting used to the time difference, and to explore the Strip/Fremont Street properly takes about a week.
Never listen to anybody who says 5 days is enough, it isn't. If you have other commitments at home, or on a budget then that's fair enough. But for somewhere like Vegas & Nevada, and you have the budget, time, etc, then the longer the better. Mainly because you not only have Fremont Street, but places to explore like Primm, Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Lake Mead, Laughlin, and lots of shopping malls. It's a big place, some of it is more spectacular than the Strip (The Valley Of Fire is lovely)
    Hope this helps. ;)
