They do use 747s as standard though occasionally I've known them change to an Airbus at short notice. The bubble has 20 PE seats in two rows of two, and then further back about 30 economy. The seating maps will be on Flyer Talk.

The crew do draw a curtain between the PE and Economy seating after take off. Even if it's not all PE, it's still far preferable to sitting downstairs, IMO. Even when you fly Upper Class there's only a curtain separating the rest of the cabin.

    Thanks Misty Blue.

The complaints i have seen re PE in bubble are regarding toilets - queues snaking through PE as the only toilets are in that area.

Also PE passengers disembarking after Economy, although that would not bother me.

I've never seen that with the toilets. For sure though, Virgin don't hold to letting PE off before Economy. They always board them in order, but disembarking I've only ever been off first in UC.

Has anyone flown Manchester to Vegas with Virgin recently ?

Just wanted to confirm they are using 747s and if anyone has a link to seatplan as used for Manchester 747 ?

I have seen some comments online that Premium Economy in the " bubble" is a bit compromised, as no longer exclusively PE up there..
It hasn't been exclusively PE for years. There may be different aircraft configurations, but both times I've been in the bubble it has been a mix. Last time was 3 years ago.

Yes, last week. We did fly on 747s both ways (will see if I can find a seat plan). As Pebbles said, the bubble has been mixed for years. Very unlikely for there to be queues for the upstairs toilet as there are only I think 27 economy seats in the bubble in total - I've sat upstairs lots if times and never seen more than one person waiting (I think some PE passengers just get a bit uptight about having to see ANY plebs during the flight haha). PE passengers upstairs do disembark after Economy passengers though (but all bubble passengers deplane before downstairs economy passengers)

  • Been back five days now and thought I had the jetlag just about sorted - until last night. Finally drifted off around 5.30am :( I bought some melatonin tablets while we were there though so will try one tonight.

Just a couple of final thoughts about our trip..

Gambling - we only play slots but this trip don't seem to have gambled nearly as much as usual. No big wins - my biggest was $120 playing a 75c max bet Double Diamond in Paris - but we couldn't seem to get rid of our cash! Only paid for slots and tips with cash but virtually each night we came home at least having broken even after tips were accounted for. So a successful trip in that respect although I don't think we're likely to get any decent offers out of it! As well as the Double Diamonds in Paris and Cosmo, I had fun on OMG Puppies, Goldfish Deluxe, Wild Bear Paws and Buffalo.

Thanks to those who recommended Cityzen - it worked a treat! Just to note though, Chayo now require you to buy a $10 margarita before you qualify for your 'free' drink. Given that AmeriCAN is only a few steps away, we didn't bother and moved on!

We're pretty certain we're going to skip Vegas next year, we're already booked to go to Punta Cana in January and a trip to Orlando with a drive to the Florida Keys is looking like the most likely option for next summer. Easy to say that now though, we'll see how we feel when the next Virgin Reward seat sale starts haha!

    Hi All

We have just booked our flights for our trip. Unfortunately it is over fight night as that are the dates we have to go.

Last time we stayed at the MGM but that is extortion at the moment.

I can get excalibur for 5 nights £500 Royal room or Mirage For 850 approx

Is the mirage worth £300 for the mirage?

I do not mind basic but I also like a nice room. The room partly makes the holiday for me. I would not stay in a hostel or think its just a place to sleep. I know I should but I like to have an ok room at least.

    Thank you.

Have you considered places such as Residence Inn, Hampton Inn and La Quinta? You can search in Google Maps to see where they're located, for example: https://goo.gl/maps/gWxpanJwYn92

We have some rewards so we were sticking with MGM properties.
