I managed to get Dec 21st for £1 and Dec 22nd for £29.

I rang them to see if i could stay in the same room, and they said yes.

I managed to get tickets for Harrods for my daughter so we get a weekend away and a visit to santa all for £30.

    Thanks to Money Saving Expert.com

I think the Hoxton will be continuously housing the Harrods Santa Guests.....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

What can i say blindman, looks like we were the first 2 people to get the rooms. got the date i wanted and got to find travel down to london now from manchetser so think britishairways flying £160 all in for return for 2? anyway thanks kindly, read the huxton site and the manager has even stated at 12:20 they had to shut down the flash site and move over to the html one.

I read, listened and followed your instructions so mega thanks blindman,

i never thought i'd be thanking a blindman for helping get a hotel room for £1!?:rotfl:

I couldn't get the HTML or the flash site to work. Tried both as soon as it opened.

    KILTY,

take at look at easybus.co.uk they go direct from luton airport (a few yards outside the main terminal)to london victoria(coach station i presume) and run every 15-30 mins , if i remember correctly they also stop at baker street and a few other stops in london too. fares start if you book early enough from £2 single then you just pay a few quid for your tube fare.

HINT if you are also returning to luton airport book it as 2 separate singles as it normally works out cheaper.

they are by no means luxuary coaches, in fact just glorified minibuses, but will still get you into london in about 70 min. and could possibly save you 20-25 quid.

    hope this helps

Is there a tube station nearby that I can get to Old Street tube station from?

(if I get the train from Luton to Kings Cross, I can get the tube from Kings Cross to Old Street)
  • If anyone has a room for the 19th of December that they don't need, I will happily buy it off them. Going to see Bruce Springsteen, need a place to crash !!

Or, if anyone can suggest anywhere else cheap to stay - that would be lovely. :)

you can get a tube from baker street to moorgate, you do have to change at moorgate but then old street is the next stop.

its worth it if you want to save money as you dont pay per stop on the tube, you pay per journey. so will still cost the same as kings cross to old street direct.
  • Congrats to everyone who got a room. I had the same trouble as most of you - got to the reserve button - which I clicked - then got the "maintenace" notice. I emailed Hoxton - and they replied saying that I hadn't got a room. so those of you who got as far as I did and got a room - you were lucky! Shall try again next time.

Shall put it down to experience................

    I'll look into it.

Tindella - I got all of that too, just had to refresh a few times ;) (had visions of my card being charged £29 a few times haha)
