Is it actually possible to give the room to someone else? I booked one room too many and would like to give it to someone else. But when calling the hotel they said they can't & would need ID (not credit cards apparently).....

I know before when booking in they just needed the booking number. Any thoughts anyone?

Anyone else try to pay with Electron?

Just got an email telling me my card has been declined and I need to pay within 72h or lose my booking. :(

    Argh I'm raged!

Didn't think I'd got a room, no confirmation page as it kept crashing, checked my email and I had a confirmation for a £29 room - woohoo!

    BUT

It's for a date I didn't even enter, randomly a Tuesday, I was only looking at Saturdays!

So I call them up and they're having none of it, I just want to change it for another night, I know it says in the terms and conditions that you cant refund or change these booking but I honestly didn't book it for that day as I couldn't go in the week.

Manager's going to call me back 'if she has time'

    Really disappointed

Called them up again on Friday and a lovely lady has changed the date for me! YAY :) Not a Saturday which is a shame, but i've got a Friday night so at least we can use it, just have to see if I can get out of work early!! :T

I had the same email after trying to book with my Egg card. I emailed them back asking if they will accept a debit card, but no response yet and no phone number in their email. I have less than 24 hours before I lose my booking. Any ideas?
  • I tried the phone number in the original booking confirmation email - 020 7550 1000. They have taken my credit card details again (expiry date was incorrect) and will phone me back today to confirm the booking. The lady on the phone had no idea that it would be cancelled tomorrow.

I've found that Egg are pretty useless to be honest. :(

Continually stopping transactions going through that we have done (including Paypal ones for less than £3) and then it took me to spot six fraudulent transactions to the same online music seller on the same day, totalling over £450.

Seems maybe Egg has put a stop on your card too; you'll have to contact them as they don't seem to bother to tell you and you won't be able to use the card till you do.

We've gone for the new Capital One card which will settle down to 1% cashback which is as good as Egg. :j

I'll call and see what they say then - more than likely they just don't accept Electron though.

Got my Visa Debit card at the ready to pay using that if I need to though :)
